We moved up here almost 35 years ago. Bought an old, stately brick home that we restored. Love driving my motorcycle around here. Now we're older and looking to downsize and move to a slightly warmer place but still have not found anything as nice. as the Finger Lakes area.
I grew up in Mt Morris… the entrance to Letchworth State Park.. so glad you enjoyed the park…you’ve got to come back in October when the leaves are at their peak. It’s breathtaking!
Living in fingerlake region , this place have so many waterfalls. I think people do not know about this place that much. Its gorgeous in fall. If you want to visit, definitely choose the Apple season, visit few orchards and local farms too.
Oh Please! Ever been to Lake George in the Adks. or over to Hew Hampshire to Lake Winnepasauke? The most expensive homes here are the "starter" homes on those lakes. I live in Canandaigua but grew up visiting Lake George (Cleverdale) every summer..
I live in the region and can get negative about it sometimes (especially in winter). Seeing this made me feel really good and gave me some great ideas on how to enjoy areas less than two hours from me. Thank you for the video!
I grew up in Canandaigua. I’d highly recommend the scenic drive on route 21 from Canandaigua to Naples. The hamlet of Bristol is a cool area with giant hills that make you feel like you’re in the Adirondack Mountains. Between Bristol and Naples there is some fantastic hiking.
There's also a huge, beautifully stocked open market on the far end of Naples. You have to go there. We go every time we're up there. By far the best of its' kind I've ever been to. Love the place!!
@alysmalls Great video!!! I've lived in the Finger Lakes for 25 years. It is a little slice of heaven throughout all of the seasons. You should come back in the Fall when the leaves are changing. This really is the best video on the FLX that I have seen. It captures many things that make this place special.
I lived in Rochester for a long time but didn’t know this race track and many of the wineries. I saved this video for refute reference when we revisit the region! I really appreciate your sharing of the information. Thank you.
I’m planning my first trip to NYC for next fall. I’m so glad you shared this area. I’m definitely now going to extend my trip and drive up here for a few days ❤ You have to let us know what you thought of grape pie! Sounds too weird 😮
I think you'll love it! And the grape pie was interesting lol. I was a little indifferent to it, but when I had it cold the next day, I thought it was much better! Definitely have to try it though
Dr. Konstantin Frank’s winery has a GREAT view, and great wines. Weis, recently opened by a former Dr Frank’s employee has the opposing view and good wine. And lastly the Curtiss Aviation Museum is darn interesting.
Correction - Chautauqua County (along Lake Erie) is the largest grape growing region east of the Rockies. Check it out. Great video, the Finger Lakes region is beautiful.
I retraced part of your winery tour this weekend - Fox run taste bud flight - billsboro chocolate pairing - lacy magruders - it was awesome! thanks for the tips! When I was at billsboro the lady asked me how I had heard about the chocolate pairing and I told her I watched your youtube video - she remembered you! She said "Oh! I think they sat outside - she was a really pretty girl right? With a tall husband?" :)
Hey you two, I have a house up here in Geneva NY. It really is a hidden gem and your video was actually one of the best I have seen about the area. Great job.
First I want to say thank you for taking the time to make this video.... It was completely amazing looking!!! I feel so ignorant because I live in new york city & with only four hours away I could be at some magicall oasis!!! Can I ask you how many days it took you guys to do all of that? And am I looking at about spending more than $1,000 on 2 people? We're definitely gonna want to sleep over, especially at that spot overlooking the waterfall❤❤❤..... Then the place that you did the wine pairing with the chocolate. Can you tell me the name of that place please? If you don't mind, I'd love to know every spot you went to because it looked absolutely incredible. Thank you Aly
We spent 6 days here! Billsboro Winery was where we did the chocolate & wine pairing. As far as budget, you have a LOT of options about where to stay - and if you book ahead enough, you can find plenty of places for $150 per night. Most wine tastings were about $15, and entrance to state parks was $10 for each park. So I think you could definitely keep it under $1000. I'll be writing a blog post detailing everything we did, stay tuned here for that: likewhereyouregoing.com/
I'm planning to drive ( from Ottawa, Canada ) to Finger Lakes in March - Does anyone know if it would be a good time to explore the area considering the winter is not yet over completely.
I'm really interested to looked the every good moments in the new york city because I'm ever wanted to becomes the good friendships in new york city 🌆 I'm always remember the happiness just started everything tobe Okay 👍
People disappear everywhere, many times 2 people at the same time. Strange they always seem to be opposite sex too. But we do usually recover the bodies, unless the sharks get them, of course.
Nice video, but it is not Upstate NY.... I live in upstate NY in the Adirondacks. Near Lake Placid, AuSable Chasm.... Lake Chaamplain. 45 minutes to Montreal Canada.
@@bearclaw5115 have to disagree, I have lived here in the Adirondacks, upstate NY for 58 years. Near Lake Placid, AuSable Chasm very close to Montreal....
It not considered WNY that consider the Finger Lakes. WNY is made up of Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany Counties.
You should interview all the poor people in the area. The tourism in upstate NY is great if you sell wine. Otherwise, it's a crushing sector of the country in terms of energy costs and overall cost of living. The sacrificial nature of keeping things green means that the average upstate NY citizens can't afford the things they create. On top of that, NY will be one of the last states to develop crypto tech, as their bit license has essentially squashed development.
I live in Geneva, NY and I do not agree with you. You can go to any state and find poor people. Perhaps you should have paid more attention in school - there are good jobs for the skilled & educated.
Did you skip your meds today? Or been listening to and believing the news vultures? BTW What does it mean to be sacrificial? Anything sacrificial has to do with a sacrifice. Giving up your seat for someone else is a sacrificial act. A sacrifice is something given up for the sake of others, so anything sacrificial is connected to that selfless act. Must be all that rain and sun and good soil deprives someone else of it, right? Let's go back to question 1 again.
Explain that to someone who has been to the Northwest: low diversity, high crime and drug addiction . I guess judgementalism comes with low diversity !

Love hiking Watkins Glen!
There's few high-quality videos like this about the Finger Lakes. Yours was much needed. And you've captured the romantic element as well. Well done.
Thank you! I can't wait to visit again soon
I attended college in the Finger Lakes region in the 90s. It's so beautiful there, truly a hidden treasure!

Love Keuka Lake❤ .. My top 3 FLWC Wineries Dr. Konstantin Frank, Ravines, and Damiani

Long ride from Toronto. Look into Rochester or Syracuse airports.
Next time you gotta stay at the Auroa Inns!
And if you want to gamble, there is Finger Lakes Racetrack and Casino.
What is the location of the falls at 1:10? I grew up in that region but can't place that one!
I live here, Drive by Seneca Lake Daily.
Where would you recommend staying? We are planning this trip down to finger lakes for our wedding anniversary
Is that Lakewood Winery at the beginning?
Bet the Farm Winery!
