I've missed two flights out of ATL Airport due to watching college football.
Players don't have to be screwed but this 30 day portal window is dumb and is too far. It's ok for players to be able to leave but it needs to be at the next portal window. Making one team's roster open for poaching is a bad way to go about it.
I wonder if people thought the same when alot of our #1 class went up for grabs? 🤔
But your recommendation only delays the poaching..I'm not sure who that benefits, if anybody.
Alabama, should go get Washington starting center, he was a freshman all American.

28 players from Alabama are in the portal now and there is still three more weeks open for the players to get poached. Regardless who you pull for, this seems ridiculous.
I say get rid of the rule with an exception for Alabama
No one will have any sympathy for Alabama at all because they’ve been so dominant for so long. People love to hate Dynasties and greatness. But eventually when it happens to their team that’s when you’ll see them screaming for rule changes.
I dont feel any pity for a team that shouldn't have even been in the playoffs.
That's basically an entire recruiting class . What are the odds everyone gets replaced at even close to same talent levels?
Lanning lost to DeBoer multiple times when he had more talent. So if you can't coach the talent up does it matter how much you get. Jimbo had amazing talent, and was sent packing. With the transfers this will still be DeBoer's most talented team. We will see what he can do with it on the field.
If they want to play elsewhere, I don’t see it as a problem. I see as it an opportunity to get someone that wants to play
Did they really think things through as it relates to this portal/NIL process & coaches leaving? Is it working the way it should be? Seems detrimental to the programs.
Fans don’t seem to complain when it works out in their favor..
Also Daboer hasn’t recruited a five star before ever and now has the expectations of filling a roster that has more than anyone else
Saban earned the Saban brand which got 4 and 5 star recruits to Alabama. Now that he’s gone Deboer is going to have to create his brand. He’s a great coach and will need some time. Alabama will not be the same without Saban, but it can still be a very good program.
The state of Alabama has more restrictions and regulations than any other state on NIL. You can’t just throw money at it. All schools in the state are under these restrictions. Other states are not and openly use it for recruiting.

Yeah this can’t be the way to do this. In no way am I am Alabama fan and excited to see them experience a down period. But they have no ability to replace these transfers either and that’s not really fair.

There is no evidence that Dan Lanning ever received an offer from Alabama to be their coach. The SAME guy who is Kalen DeBoer's agent is also representing Dan Lanning, Steve Sarkisian, Mike Norvell and even Nick Saban. Sexton played the whole scene like a fiddle. And new Washington AD Troy Dannen said at Fisch's Intro press conference that he thought DeBoer might have been thinking about leaving around Thanksgiving.

These guys want to play for the best of the best. Coach Saban was that. Now these 26 want to go where the next best is and they must not believe that’s DeBoer.

Dan Lanning was not the first choice, y'all are trippin'. Dude has never won a big game. Saban tried to hire the UW S&C Coach, Ryan Grubb a year ago, and finally figured out that they had to buy the whole offensive staff to get the offense that Saban coveted since Kiffin and Sark left.
When Lanning starts winning big games (how can you not with unlimited pay-for-play resources!), beating his rivals, etc. the question will become, "did he do it because of the roster or the coaching?" and he'll bounce to another school and try to prove that he's actually a good coach. He's very young, there's no way he was the first pick of Bama with his track record. You say that Lanning was the #1 pick because his agent told him to make a hype video quickly to close on transfers before Bama started collapsing. Bama doesn't need a recruiter as a head coach, they have resources for that (but not unlimited NIL). They need a guy that has beaten Lanning, and Sark, every time he's faced them. Bama thought that the kids would stay for "Bama" but those days are gone. They gonna find out if DeBoer can actually build a program and not just roster hop at opportune times.
If a coach leaves a team all 128 teams have access to that teams players while the team who lost it's coach can only have access to players from a couple of other teams who also lost their coaches.
Who would make a system like this but a bunch of stupid academics...
Then don’t wait till after the portal is over to do a coaching change. It’s not fair to the players to be held in a program where their coach changes.
I think alot more people could find seattle on a map than alabama lmao. Alabama has the tide thats it lol seattle has so much more. Boeing ,Microsoft, amazon, just a few washington has tech money.

Until the same situation comes for your team. The NIL and the portal is the 💩 show. It's not going to be good for anybody but the players until people stop watching due to the chaos and lack of commitment.
Deboer is in trouble already you have to recruit at Bama you not going to fall into a experienced roster like he had at Washington
People dont realize chris petersen had accumulated that roster kalen brought michael penix, dillon johnson and jabbar muhammad everyone else was there
Deboer's recruiting is terrible. Go look at Washington's last 2 classes. The only great recruit he brought in was Penix, who single-handedly won 4-5 games.
Travis Hunter is probably the best none QB portal entry.
