Quick update: still using this razor several months later! I accidentally left my razor handle behind in a hotel and immediately decided to order a replacement. I also ordered a travel case (new item that launched after this review) to test out!

i’ve wanted them so badly but i had only seen sponsored reviews, so glad you did this!! i’m super sensitive to lotion though so do you think it’s something i should avoid or do you think it’s pretty gentle?
Do you mean the coating around the blades? I would say it’s pretty minimal. It feels mostly solid but when wet it gives a little extra slip for a more comfortable shave. I think you should be fine but also I don’t know about your particular allergies/sensitivities!

I’ve tried them for a few months and am finally cancelling bc they consistently cut up my legs so often vs other store bought brands :(
I wanted to like them and they are cute and I like the magnet for the shower.
They give me razor burn pretty easily.
Same here, I've tried this and flamingo razors and both give me a closer shave but extreme razor burn because I guess its actually scraping off the first layer of my skin. Disappointing so I'll have to stick to Venus Swirl. It doesnt give me the closest shave, but also doesnt give me razor burn
@Googoo ga ga it's yo boi Baby Yoda Girl I know the struggle! Im a hairy Pakistan girl got the same issue. Venus swirl is pretty good, I havent cut myself once with it. I exfoliate my skin with a scrub first and then use a thick shaving cream or gel. Venus swirl is pretty gentle!
@Martin Whalen I exfoliate first, use a thick shave cream, and then use an after shave liquid that cleans and closes my pores. When I use a Venus razor the after shave liquid doesnt sting, and when I use billie razor my entire leg is on fire when I put on the aftershave. So I think the Billie razor is just giving me too many cuts. I might just have sensitive skin so that might be it. I switched back to Venus because it doesnt give me razor burn

I only considered buying Ellie because it’s so much cheaper than buying a new razor or new razor heads which are $20+ where I live. (Bay Area) Thank you for the review!!!

The Billie shave cream is the bomb! Def use the magnetic holder so the comfort coating stays longer.
Thanks for comparing this to better quality razors. I actually love using my basic Venus razor but it’s super expensive. I think I’m going to try this... it’s only $9.
ChaliceQueen I personally found it very comparable to those razors, especially with a fresh Billie blade. At this price point, I think it’s worth it to try whether it works for you.

I've been using Venus razors for years and although they're convenient, the heads are bulky, you can't get a close shave, they dull rather quickly and if you're not careful, you'll cut yourself up badly on a fresh blade. Plus, the 4 head replacement pack has gone up to $18 per pack. I figured for $9 I try Billie and see how it goes. For those who don't know, the majority of blades are nickel, which sucks if you have an allergy to that alloy. Billie razors are stainless steel and supposedly better for your skin if you're prone to nickel allergies. I hope that clarifies why people have been switching over to Billie razors.
This is really interesting! I was not aware that most razors are made with nickel and Billie isn't. I do have some skin sensitivity to using earrings that aren't nickel free or high quality metal. I wonder if this contributes to why I like this razor! Thanks for sharing this info :)
I was using a Gillette extra-sensitive five-blade razor and I decided to try Billie because it was magnetic however it left me with razor burn and for some reason it made my armpits super sensitive. Almost as if it wasn't cutting my hair properly. I reached out to the company and they sent me a free bottle of shave cream. however that didn't help anything I probably wouldn't recommend it if your skin is super sensitive.
Sorry that happened to you - that's frustrating! My first blade was great and then with my second razor head I used it once to quickly dry shave under my arms as I was running out the door and didn't rinse it out after and I feel like it started to give me a little razor burn after that - like I had ruined the sharpness maybe? I switched out the razor head again and now always use it wet + rinse after and I haven't had any issues since!

Carmen Renee Yeah, I couldn’t find a one-time buy option when I was checking out. But it’s super simple to unsubscribe from it. After I purchased my razor, i went in and cancelled the subscription.

I've been using the same brand of men's 4 blade razors since I started shaving, so I'm really excited to try a new brand! The magnet is what drew me in! haha! Also, the colors are soo fun!

lala yup Good question! She said she got razor burn while using it, and she had never gotten razor burn before with any other razor. My legs are very prone to razor burn, even with more expensive, name-brand razors, and I did not experience it with billie. The difference may be a combination of our skin types, how often we change blades, and how we shave (ex. whether we dry shave or use shave gel/soap). I have not discussed the exact details with her!

Anna all razors definitely don’t work the same. I ditched my Venus razor and use the kind my husband does. I can’t go back. I think I’m gonna try this out though. If you’re wondering if something is a scam just check out the reviews 😊 Edit: I tried it and really like it!

Thank you for reviewing the Billie razor, I suppose what I dont get is how its different than other subscriptions. The company was literally copy pasting the same long comment for each reviewer on facebook. I was looking for a non sponsored review and misunderstood the difference between referral and sponsor

I did not like this razor. I have used men's razors for years because they have always done a much better job. Thought I'd give Billie a try considering everyone raving about it on their
Facebook posts. I get a lot of razor burn and it doesn't shave close enough and leaves stubble. I will go back to Dollar Shave Club. Much better quality for the same price.

I realized that I found out about Billie 4 years ago. I honestly can’t believe that it took me so long to get one. I want to try Athena Club but I’m concerned about the price of their refills. It’s 22.00 for 6, I think.

how often do u change ur razor heads btw (like when do they get dull/not work as well)?
Ok honestly, over time I’ve noticed a little inconsistency with how long the blades last. Not sure if it’s something I’m doing / depends on how I treat them or what shaving cream or I’m using, but sometimes I feel like I can use a blade for weeks without any issues, other times I feel super ready to swap to a new one after just two weeks! At $9 for four blades, I am really not that bothered by this, since at that price I can afford to swap out as often as I want. When I filmed this review I had taken one blade on a three week trip and felt it worked amazing for all three weeks! But since then I have occasionally had a billie blade that only lasted two weeks. Just wanted to be open about the inconsistency I’ve experienced! Still think it’s a great razor and well worth the price! EDIT: I should note that this is with me shaving typically every other day (about 4x per week). Experience may be different based on usage.

Nika Khalili When I first started shaving years ago, I was using a cheap disposable razor and I definitely cut myself trying to figure it out. I think this is a good option for beginners. I would recommend using soap or shave gel to lather your legs to help avoid cuts when you’re new to shaving. (P.S. I recently tried the shave gel that billie makes, and I didn’t love it. Stick to a bar of soap or pick up a shave gel from Target!)

I❤️ my Billie razor. I’m just waiting to receive more now. Stupid Covid slowing down shipping. Best shave I’ve gotten. I got it in blush. I plan on getting the travel case.
I used these for like 2 months because the screwed up my order and had to send 2 more razor cartilages since they screwed up which good on them for making up for it but there not for me I shave over the same spot like 5 times and still stubble and razor bumps maybe just me

The shave cream is the best and lasts forever! A little goes a long way.
I had it and decided to get rid of it bc I hate the gel on the razor gel that turns into snot. I feel it gets in the way of getting a smooth shave and getting rid of all the hair. Such a fail.

Yoongi’s Child Hard to say! I personally find that this razor glides easily when I’ve recently changed to a new blade. But like most razors, as the blade wears down, it’s less effortless.

@@Diamond_n_roses same for me. The day after I have shaved, my legs will be super spiky. Once I’m out of my joy razor head replacements, I will get Billie.
I know hair growth is different but how was the bikini area ? How long did you go between shaves?
I shave the bikini zone about once a week, but that’s just personal preference. I thought the razor worked well for that purpose. I don’t think the razor I use makes a big difference in how often I shave. I usually shave my legs / underarms every time I shower anyway.

Charlotte Gruver Not sure, I did not try it that way. If I am going to shave peach fuzz on my face, I will use one of the Tinkle eyebrow razors (very cheap on Amazon). I’ve personally never tried using a traditional razor for the face.
I don't doubt it is a great product. I am glad to understand the pink tax. I think the commercial and the jingle is really annoying and should be taken off tv!
