Well I wouldn’t mind being confined inside Andertons’ store 😮
I could handle man 🤘
Put my name into the hat :-)
That can be interpreted in so many ways...
Matt B Yes after it closes and your all alone
PoetOnMoet 😂😂😂😂😂👍😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍😂😂😂
Would be interesting to see a shootout between these and the Boss Katana Mk II.
We can make that happen... 😉
how about you shoot this one and let the katana live
@@andertons absolutely please do as I am considering buying one of them
Andertons Music Co I’d be interested in a comparison between these fender amps and the Vox Cambridge 50 🤔
@@dsaasd6300 I smell fear.
The jam and Pete's loop segment was worth the 46 minutes watch by itself.
Well done guys.
Norm from Montreal, Canada
Fender needs to release a series of Tone Master amps based on Tweeds.
DukeNutron a £200 clone version of a tweed twin wouldn’t be bad 😉
ide snag a tonemaster bassman SO fast
Absolutely!
tonemaster deluxe would be dreamy
DukeNutron amen!
This editing is incredible, I can't believe they aren't in the same room!!!

WO KNEW? IT’S A GODDAMN MYSTERY!🤯
Well done, guys! This is by far the best out of the box modeling amp that doesn’t cost a fortune and sounds pretty close to a tube amp. Outro is killer example of what it can do. Nice playing samples to get a sense of the sound👏🏻
Late to the party, you’ve guys sold me on the amp. The genuine ness and excitement meant y’all felt. Man I felt that too, I loved it. The friendship you guys have, the skills and that amazing jam session at the end. Inspired me to get more serious about Music, which my dad always told me to enjoy throughout my life. Thanks again
Thanks for keeping it up man, gets boring at home sometimes, appreciated
Glad to keep you entertained with our videos... Loads more on the way! 🤘
@@andertons About the too much reverb, is it possible fender could have the amps without the reverb ,and let you put as much or as little reverb as you wish? Also any comment by yourselves on the argument made about software support?
Appreciate your channel. Every time I look for a new item review, you guys are one of the few people who have done it.
Keep it up !
Captain you’re the best music product seller on internet, it’s in your blood!
Dad would be proud, Cheers mate.
I've been watching you guys for years. As well as doing great reviews of gear, you're always funny as... like a combined music gear show and comedy channel. Keep it up, love it! (from Australia).
Hey Andertons, this is super helpful! Your videos have always been so great (especially that Acoustasonic looper song!) that you've helped inspired me to make videos too, especially about the new Mustang GTX and GTs. Keep it up!
Picked up the smaller 25 and love it. Perfect for a smaller room. Sounds good to me 👍. Thanks for the videos guys!
Thanks guys. I really like the stuff Pete comes up with.
@45.13 great little soft rifflet from Lee and one of the best looper work from Pete - love you guys
29:17 there it is
Lovely 😂😂❤
Lee talking about a good head of hair, enjoy it whilst you've got it cos when it's gone you're gonna do a great impression of "The Hood" from Thunderbirds. Loving the vids guys. Keep up the great content as we hunker down!!
Probably the best Amp demo you've done yet, can't wait to watch the new katakana demo
I completely agree with Lee, the modelling is very decent on the classic Fender amps. The models towards the end of the video sounded much more tube-like than the earlier combination rigs
Crazy how modern technology lets them pass objects back and forth in a split screened video, straight up incredible! :P
HOLY SHIT!! I want one! Great video guys! Loved the jam at the end!
Had a try on my brothers one tonight and I I’m sold I’ll definitely be getting one of these
What a guitar player Pete is. Amazing.
What a great video.
Making me wanna buy a 100w GTX now.
Thanks, Lee and Pete...
Fenders Mustang series was golden since the v2 line. I've got a Mustang III v2 and it's been a wonderful amp
You guys were having so much fun with this amp I had to buy one. :)
Having grown up mostly as a plug in and play guy, I find the multitude of options in these amps to just be overwhelming.
Can confirm that the new app works with the old GT40. It is a marked improvement over the previous iteration. The graphical representation of the pedals is a lot better. To be honest I don't remember what the old app looks like because it was too difficult to use lol.
this is awesome! taught me so much about my gt 100 that i just got!
cheers!
Love the loop track at the end , all the possibilities!!! I'm stoked!!!!
Pete's so good at speaking through his guitar. I don't think he even needs a lapel mic for these videos.
Some fantastic sounds there! It's interesting to see the progression in quality for these type of products. Thanks for the hard work!
I do think it nailed fender amps sounds ! Love it
That outro jam was sooooo good !!
Rock on lads!! Leonardos playing is always a pleasure, no matter what gear hes playing.
Lee, you doing okay man? You've seemed tense for a some time. All the best, You and the Anderton's gang have been a huge inspiration and source of joy for me for some years now. Cheers from Minnesota! Stay well!
Pete is probably one of the best guitarists I've ever heard and seen
This thing sounds awesome!
Amazing presets!
Hi Lee and Pete. Wendy Melvoin played a modified Rickenbacker 330 throughout her time with Prince and The Revolution. It was extensively modified with G&L pickups for increased sustain, and featured blocked soundholes to reduce feedback, particularly in bigger venues. Her guitar part was recorded live at a gig, and that's what was used on the record. She used the guitar through a Roland JC 120 for the intro to Purple Rain.
Pete is such a brilliant guitarist he'd make anything sound boss
Cheers Andertons, just received my waza air, this will keep me entertained during lockdown 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm waiting for you lot to deliver it and can't wait.
Thanks Lee and Pete! I ran out to Guitar Center here in San Antonio, Texas last Sunday and bought 1 of 2 that they had in stock...just before our local Government put us in official lock-down. I'm so glad I did because I'm having a blast finding all the great sounds this thing can produce, while I'm hunkered down here in my apartment. Been a big fan of all you guys since the start... thanks for posting! Btw, I also bought 2 Katana's (the 100, then later the Artist 100... thanks to Rabea), and the Marshall DSL 40, all thanks to your influence and wonderful channel and videos. Hope you guys are able to keep it up for a LONG time...(no pun intended).
how do you reckon the gtx compares to the katana (thinking particularly around clean/crunchy tones)?
A few years on, do you prefer the katana or the fender? Or maybe you like them for different things. Just curious :)
@@Muzikman127 Well, Covid threw everybody for a loop. At the time, we had no idea how serious or how long all that craziness was going to last, which turned out to be quite awhile. Long story short, we didn't play publicly for a very long time and ended up disbanding because lifestyles, personal circumstances and issues changed everything. Anyway, fast forward and I ended up downsizing ALL my equipment and only kept the essential...3 electric guitars, 2 acoustic guitars, my DSL40CR and the Katana 100, plus some various support equipment . But, I personally like the Katana 100 over the GTX, handsdown., and the Artist just wasn't necessary for me. The DSL and the K100 compliment each other for my needs.
@@toneseeker4968 similar story here with covid craziness. Thanks for the response!
@@Muzikman127 :)
The one thing about these modeling amps is the difference in volume levels that I wish could be leveled-out from the factory. It's MENTAL how many times I switch from one setting where the master is on a 2 and move from a clean to metal channel the LOUDNESS is insane. Doing some research to figure this out- but still...
“Here’s one we both won’t like” lol. That’s hysterical.
FINALLY~ a Great GTX💯 review from you guys! Thank you 🙏
awesome demo im trying one out now and so far loving it thanks
Superb jam at the end Pete. That's straight into a Coen Bros movie!
The looping jam at the end is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys!!!
awesome track at the end of the video! well done ..
I just played this brand new Fender Mustang GTX50 at a store today with a stock Fender US Strat with the volume and both tone knobs at full 10 and played through about 25 presets and did some simple tweaking with about 5 presets.
I've played most popular amps for the past 32 years and am an advanced player.
The vibro king and super reverb presets are worth the money alone for sure. But usually with singles coils and all digital solid state amps, I prefer to turn either the tone knobs down to 6 or 7 or the treble on the amp down a little except for the metal 2000 preset which I turned the mid all the way down to 2-4 and the treble and bass to 10 with the bridge pickup and it sounded awesome. I can play Sad But True Metallica or Slayer Seasons in the Abyss with a great tone.
The cabinet has better wood and resonance and tone and the processor is superior to my old Fender Mustang IV with two 12" Celestions stock.
This amp sounds legit pro level. Some of the amp modeling presets are as good as my Line 6 Helix LT.
But I don't like this speaker as much as the one in the GTX100.
I'm sure my Celestion F12 X200 12" speaker(made for IR Modeling) that I used in my Fender Champion 50XL will sound better. That amps blows compared to this GTX50.
All the old Fender Mustangs are definitely inferior sounding to this new one.
The screen is small but is way better functioning and looking than the old mustangs and obviously the app is way better looking and working I'm sure.
I would to have this rewired with all pure silver wiring like Zoalla cables and with an all solid pine cabinet like Fender Custom amps.
I wish Fender would tell the public the sampling rate and bit rate.
I wish digital amps would have 192khz sampling rate with 64 bit, although the Boss GT1000 has 32 bit and doesn't sound better than the Line 6 Helix with 24 bit rate or the old TC Electronic G-System with 44.1Khz sampling rate. Most audio interfaces use 192khz sampling rate now.
is the 50 good enough to not need the 100?
I don't really need the footswitch
That jam was dope! ✌😎✌
That outro loop is so sick! 🎸🤘
Very nice presentation, music fun and great inspiration!
I had a mustang 4 150watt amp I bought new in 2012 and im telling you its my favorite amp I've ever owned. Looking for another one now but wanted to do some research first to see if their is anything newer out now that might catch my ear
Definitely buying this, sounds good
Thanks Captain! We need this stuff to stay sane while we are told to stay at home. Please keep them coming. All that money we can't spend at the moment is going to need to be spent somewhere... :-)
That last little loop is getting into my little channel territory. Hhahaha. Lovely!!
So many great options these days with all these modeling amps and that's keeping me with the classic setup JCM800 straight to my LP and nothing in between.
the stereo DI out is amazing
Awesome review this amp I might have to get
I bought my first electric guitar and amp last year and guitar center recommended the gtx 50. I swear I couldn’t have asked for a better amp to “get good” on. I ended up buying the foot switch recently and man did it really open things up for me. Anyone considering one of these affordable modelers will not regret it. I know it’s not the “real thing” but for someone who loves to play guitar at home it is so perfect.
thanks for going on ! we guitar players are the most fortunate of all the locked-ins. Be Safe
Those sound really good for what they are! they are really starting to get the tube amp dynamics in the modeling amps lately.
I've been hearing people say that for 20 years now.
Fender have just closed all their Forums, today, just looked, Spooky!
Nice outro Pete!
Have a Mustang GT40. It was talked about in this vid, but A LOT of people miss it, IF YOU SPEND THE TIME TO TWEAK the settings on many of these presets, you can get some GREAT tones out of these amps. From the correct 'global setting' to throwing an EQ in your chain to backing off the preset gain (like they talked about) - so much can be done to dial it in. I love the GT amp (looking forward to checking out a GTX) and have gone through many, many, MANY modeling amps, never really being happy with any of them until the GT - Katana included.
mpactdesignmedia is the gt40 open back or closed? I have the gt200 (it was a gift(why do I need 200 watts?)) and I feel the open back kills the bottom end at higher volumes...I do understand that fender is known for having open back cabs but I think even the clean amps would benefit from more bottom end feel
@@dddd717 - "Why do I need 200 watts?" :-D LOL. Yes, the GT40 is closed back. I'm on a Mustang GT forum on FB and the V 3.0 software that just dropped is getting rave reviews. Haven't done it yet.
PURPLE RAIN sounded cool Pete 🤘🏼🤘🏼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎼🎼🎼🎼
That DI out sounds AMAZING.
Prateek Poddar and it’s a fraction of the price as a Helix/Kemper. These amps are such a huge value
Great outro jam!
Confirming that the app for the Mustang GT series just got an update and now looks just like the one for the GTX, and last night when I turned on my GT100 there was a firmware update waiting that included all of the new amp models and a dozen new effects including two Big Muffs (Ram's Head and Green Russian), an EP-3 Echoplex, and an RE-201 Space Echo, and they sound GLORIOUS.
I got a MustangII when it came out. About the size of that 50. Works well. Does all my guitar work well enough.
outro jam amazing \w/
OMG such sweet vid editing I swear it really looked liked Pete handed Lee that phone! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!
Woah that last jam...Danish Pete reminding us that he's got soul and feel for days...
The Fender 65 Twin Reverb with the overdrive pedal sounded fantastic!
I use a tube screamer mini through the 65 twin reverb and I love it. Loses a little bottom end but I love the gritty sound.
For about a year now that i´ve been noticing that Lee has been more of a salesperson (which he is ,i understand that) and trying to push more than entertaining. Which is the main reason that makes me keep watching Andertons content. Anyway good explanatory video as always.
Boss has got a new artist MK2 and I can't wait for their comparison with the fender
The mic'd cabinet sounds so much better than the direct simulated signals and it's not even close.
I found the secret to Mustang Amps is playing them through a REAL cab. Putting in a speaker that also plays your bluetooth songs is a horrible idea/compromise. I play my GT line out into Mustang 5 Head (clean no modeling setting) into a MArshall 1936 cab. Pretty hard to beat.
would be interested in hearing this in a band setting. most of those modelers sound okay until the drums and the tube driven amps start up. like the fender tonemaster. id rent one for band practice to see how it gels.
That’s all that I needed...
Lee and Pete talking about new gear to forget a little bit about this Corona Virus!
If they had not started with, in my opinion, inappropriate jokes about self quarantine, it might have worked.
I really hope that they will keep the Shop shut. As much as it hurts, this is not the time to brandish false valour or even making jokes about a very serious and real issue, so many people still ignore :( sad times....
@@florianju5638 if you cant joke about current situations you may have a stick I'm your ass
Nothing like a 46 minute Andertons video to get the time to fly!
Outro is F###ing AMAZING!
I’m buying this amp 100%
I don't think you will be sorry.
Thanks for another great demo. I wish there were some other demos of this amp to check out other than the floor demos from NAMM. Those are fairly useless for judging what the amp sounds like when properly recorded. These amps are in stock online and the stores are closed. Fender might generate some orders if the would get a few more good demos out there.
He does it again at 20.17, that tremolo scrape move!
4:26 Thanks, Pete! Tonemaster Princeton coming soon. We heard it here. How to see a 4x10 Super Reverb along with it 🤞 🐈 💼
And bassman
And a blues deluxe please!
When Marshall sponsored the MK Dons, that was the best sports sponsorship ever 😊
Wish you had given the outro settings used; that was awesome and showed what fun can be had with the looper and sounds.
I know this vid is old but I have been watching Andertons vids for years. And I have been looking at vids of the GTX for at least a year or more. I kept telling myself that my Fender 85 (65 watts RMS, really stinking loud with the red chicken head knobs) and the Digitech RP-55 effects stomp box and even my Roland GS-6 rack mount processor were all that I need. But I kept seeing great sounds out of this. So, this last weekend, I had some people doing repairs at my house and one of them was young enough to be my son. But really into guitars but not having a lot of funds and having a family to support.
I invited him back Sunday initially to get some old tools (for tradesmen) that I am not using any more. And then I gave to him my Hondo Flying V, my Memphis Les Paul Copy, the RP-55, and the Fender 85 amp. It was like Christmas for him. It got some stuff out of the way for me. Modernly, I am really liking the playing on the Ibanez Gio that I got at a pawn shop, dirt cheap. One of those grandma's barn yard kept Corvette deals. And finally had the reason and the excuse to go to Guitar Center in Plano, Texas (wonderful and helpful people there) and get the GTX100 that includes the foot board.
And just immediately love the sound. Usable volume. The app is great and even easier to use than the dials on the amp.
For a gig amp, you cannot beat it. The whole amp weighs less than the speaker magnet on the old amp. For those who do not know, the 100 watts is more than adequate for small club and church gigs. Venues any bigger than that and you will either be bi-amped or jacked into an AB box that goes to the house PA. Bi-amp is where a PA system mic is placed in front of your mic.
And you can record straight into a DAW with this thing. You will not need another amp except for personal desire. If could start all over again, which I have done, this amp is all that I would need.
Granted, I understand the desire and mystique to have of a Marshall Super Lead driving two 4X12 cabinets but even in the days of Woodstock, that was overkill. All the amps and stuff were mic'd into a PA system. And a mic does not care about the size of your amp when making a big sound. You would be suprised to learn how many of the iconic guitar tracks were recorded on an amp with less than 100 watts, often less than 50 watts and a Shure SM-57 microphone. That mid-range honky characteristic of the SM-57 works magic for guitar parts.
1:19 Bless you, Pete. Hope that wasn’t a “wrong” cough 😷
After seeing this I went out and got one , Wow it sounds good in this video but in person this thing is mind blowing , i had one of the older mustangs it wasn't bad , The GT i thought everything sounded fake with no depth , The GTX sound is so big and 3 dimensional the sound is every where , love your show.
Thanks for your useful comment. Did you try to record this amp with an Android phone ?
@@alcofribasnasier5089 havn't
@@deanherbig9178 thank you
If you're using the app, that overrides the knobs on the amp (I believe master volume is still controllable by the knob.)
what a great video!!
i already own a gt40 and have for around 2 years. I Now want the gtx50
I just bought a 2012 roland microcube and... It sounds amazing lol. The modeling is actually really good and although it doesn't really like pedals much, and the headphone out kind of sucks... The rest is absolutely epic. Truly feels fun to crank it and it's not very loud at all.
Alex Murphy these are amazing amps. I have one in my computer room. Underrated amps. I wouldn’t have any problem gigging with a 80 watts cube and I’m tube amp guy.
I remember back in the day when transistor ams were one bad trick and we had to spend money on a good amp not to mention valve amps and now we have all these options on a single light amp!!!
I really like the burgundy mist colour.
Sweet!
Guys, what happen with GTX vs. MKII ? ...This is a most anticipated review!
