the music when they enter Frieren's room is so damn epic, it really feels like you're entering the hidden boss of an RPG, OST of this anime are so peak!

I think the best part about Frieren's clone's epic appearance is the implication of 'what if Frieren was fighting without holding back?' and that is terrifying to them, esp since Denken (the strongest in their group) had lost to her when she only used basic spells. Absolute banger moment.

I liked this arc through the first test, but man the second test is the real takeoff moment for me. The dread of seeing Frieren’s clone was immaculate.

5:15 Kudos to the animators for having all three characters walking out of step with each other (as you can tell by the shoulder motion). This requires more effort to animate so you get lower budget shows with everyone walking in step, even those with significant height differences whose strides must be completely different.

The ending to me shows clear symbolism that it's Fern's grave, because Frieren is laying in the same way at the grave and in Fern's lap - which implies that the grave essentially *is* Fern's lap.
One thing we know for *certain* is that it's not Flamme's grave, because we've *seen* Flamme's grave, or at least do in a flashback at a certain point - her grave is square; the one in the ending is rounded (and shaped like Fern's Sillhouette to boot) so it's not Flamme's grave; we can assume it's Fern's, who else's would it be at that point.

Ferm's tomb is the one you see in the second ending, I thought about Flamme's the first time that I saw it, but when the people started to say it was Ferm's it was more than crystal clear that it was Ferm’s. Frieren and Flamme relation was different, when Frieren tried to be informal with Flamme this one makes her call her Sensei, not sempai, but sensei; the difference between both are the fact that a sempai is informal and it has certain admiration and love implicit on it, while sensei is very formal and hierarchal. This doesn’t mean that Frieren didn’t love Flamme the contrary when Frieren and Ferm faced the monsters that take the form of someone you love Ferm saw Heiter while Frieren was expecting to see Flamme, but realizing that for the first time in more than a thousand years that now she was seeing Himmel. Now why is Ferm's, first see the first scene and the final scene are the same, but the landscape at the end is "younger", second, the child with the red ribbon, The first time Frieren met Ferm, she was wearing a red ribbon, this red ribbon is present during the whole ending. Frieren is looking for a butterfly during the ending and when it found it, this became in an angel and then the child of the red ribbon. When Ferm is sicked Frieren told Stark that for her she will be always a child that is the reason Ferm does looks like a child with a red ribbon. Finaly the dress that Frieren uses during the ending is the same two pieces dress that she uses during the time she travelled with Himmel first and with Ferm later while in the time she lived with Flamme she used a one-piece dress. It is easy to jump into the conclusion that it is Flamme because Ferm hasn’t died in the story, but the main concept of the series is understanding the pass of time and the best way is to let us know that as well as Flamme, Ferm is going to die and Frieren will live it.

It's flamme's tomb stone, the makers confirmed it too, I think.

It's Fern's, and they didn't. Don't just make stuff up.
You *want* it to be Flamme's grave because it's really sad if it's Ferns. However, we've literally seen Flamme's grave in the series; the gravestone is square, not rounded - it looks different and you can compare them. It's Fern's grave.

@@Horrrrrrrrst you went from 'they confirmed it... I think" to "they literally confirmed it" I think you just dreamed it or have a false memory. Flamme's grave looks different. We've seen it.

@@virtualmartini we also haven't seen Eisen's tombstone. By your logic, this tombstone could be his as well because we haven't seen it in the series. Maybe even Old Man Vol's. Where's your confirmation?
And so what if it will be Fern? Frieren will outlive her, we know. Why do you want the tombstone to be Fern's so badly? I thought there was something about be nice in the guideline before posting your comment. Did you pay attention to that detail?

One of my favorite moments in the series is the look on Sense's face when she realizes that the legendary great mage who defeated the Demon King with the hero's party... Is the medieval equivalent of a gatchapon addict. ("1%? Those sound like damned good odds!" - any Genshin Impact player. 🤣) You can just see in her eyes the way the accepted worldview of this great heroine runs smack into the reality, and you can hear a tiny *tink* of her psyche snapping like a cheap glass ornament.
Meanwhile, who else could be the final boss but Frieren herself?
