We had to save component space for what we can, next version will have more $1 coins to make things easier in another aspect, but ales work how they work, players will just need to be mindful about it
Um... if I were to play this, I would take a close look at the reward rules. From what Becca said, I thought the player would get the cards/ale as first dibs in the damage. Meaning, 7 dmg - 1 card - 2 ale = 4 cash. This means undefeated monsters gain 1 health each round... but that was how I interpreted her words. Also... I felt it was fitting that she played "sham' the round after she played "beesting". But, if she just dropped a single 'e' then she would have been "besting" herself.
Will buy the game. It looked like there were many broken rules in this gameplay. There used to be someone that looked out for that and called it out on the spot.
Why are they calculating the damage when revealing their words? Isn't it just he length of the word that determines play order? The damage depends on the monster you attack, as there are more than one damage type. Confusing and wasting time.
@@BrknSoul But I'd like to. Everyone who watches CR regularly gets G&S content in their feed, even without being subscribed. Their videos are full of pleasing nerdy stuff but, once inside, I don't feel like staying for long. Too mild for my geek taste.
This is better than Tabletop. It doesn't have "seasons" with long waits in between, it shows the FULL game, they seem to make less mistakes and Becca is more entertaining than Wil.
@@MicBain I think the video editing, interview in between, explaining rules, and sound is way better in Tabletop. I agree Becca is more entertaining though. Maybe put Becca as host in Tabletop :) Also they didn't correct Becca's mistake. :(

Yeah it does look like Critical Role are setting themselves up as an independent channel once their contract runs out. The channel is already producing additional content like Between the Sheets and All work, no play. They already make enough through Patreon and Twitch donations that they basically don't need Geek and Sundry anymore. I have noticed that G&S have been trying other shows in a similar format to Critical Role for some time now. They tried with the campaign Will Wheaton set up which was very highly produced but had quickly dwindling viewer counts after the first episode. They do their Star Trek focused one which doesn't get quite as many views as CR. Lets be honest, Game the Game, which started out as a twitch exclusive show where the host would interact with chat (and thus would have a chance at having any little incidents of rules breaking corrected on the spot) basically got groomed as the tabletop replacement instead, removing its main draw which was chat interaction. The problem is, Becca, as nice as she is, just doesn't seem as personable as Will and the whole thing has this semi-awkward atmosphere because of that instead of the casual one Will provided. It just feels like a slightly worse version of Tabletop now, which is basically what it is.
@@luketfer >They do their Star Trek focused one which doesn't get quite as many views as CR. It gets a tiny fraction of the views lmao, like not even 10k compared to CR which is hundreds of thousands (and millions on the early episodes0
Becca plays to WIN, wil tryed to win but had more fun just playing abbysmal roll or not, if she stopped trying to crush everyone into the ground would love it, Becca is like a finall Boss while Wil was like a Mini-Boss
I imagine Geek and Sundry is well aware that people preferred Tabletop *but* Wil Wheaton's been distancing himself from Geek and Sundry since it got bought out by Legendary Entertainment (Project Alpha) and it looks like he isn't coming back.
Yes and no. This existed before G&S was bought out, but Wil walked when Project Alpha happened, and (I think) they're trying to promote this as Tabletop's replacement.
I mean... it's OK. The production values are good and the games chosen are typically pretty great. The players don't seem overly charismatic though like Tabletop. I think the host does a decent job but it just feels awkward in a way Tabletop very rarely was. I'm still happy that there's something Tabletop adjacent though.
Love Game the Game, best board game show G&S has ever produced. But really disappointed in G&S's lack of moderation, allowing sexist commenters to attack your on-camera talent is a losing strategy, allowing this kind of "fan" to be prominent will only drive away viewers in the long run.
I'm sick of watching Rebecca cheat. She knows when she cheats. I want Will back. Rebecca is a horrible host, she is to cut throat. I want to watch a friendly game played. She is exactly the type of gamer to be kicked from our group. Will was never cut throat, he hardly ever won. His main concern was to make sure people enjoyed the game. She just plays to crush her guests. Get rid of her.
@@blackvial I have watched enough of her hosting to see her cheat. You could tell by the look on her face and she even questioned if Bee Sting is 1 word. Come on she knew it was 2 words. And if you 2 can't tell the difference in that then you're exactly the type of people we wouldn't have in our group. I'm not hating on people who want to win. I'm hating on her because on multiple games I have caught her cheating. And only recently has she started to allow her guests a chance to play the game before she taped it. And I even seen her run that fact in. I don't like her, preferred the way Will hosted. Hell I even prefer the guy who hosted the Axis and Allies Zombie game.
Roy Glover I agree, it is so annoying watching her cheat! As the host she is supposed to know the rules and should at least reference check when unsure. Yet somehow she seems to be the one who makes the most (and most advantageous) “mistakes”. Either she is cheating or she is super careless, which both are bad qualities in a host.

I hope they make a french version of this game. It looks fun so I would buy it.
That cat dress is so awesome. I can't help but feel my life would be more complete with that dress.
4:01 Was hoping for PWN. Assuming Becca saw this and foiled me on purpose. And laughed. Maniacally.
That 3/1 Ale combo tile design decision is an unfortunate one. There are sure to be inadvertent conversions in any game.

Why are all the games you place so fucking complicated
notice, that she is wearing the same shirt in the game and in the rule explanation. coincidence?
Geek & Sundry should start to understand that its main demographic target is around 30 yo and shake off that "Nickelodeon for grown-ups" feeling.
Here's an idea.. if you don't like watching Game the Game, then.. oh, I don't know.. don't watching it, maybe?
