Tuberculosis is, indeed, the same thing as consumption. Also, I think Doc's special power should be to get LP from wounds since he was actively trying to die in a blaze of glory before his disease could kill him.
As I've sold off my Avalon Hill Gunslinger game which was very rules heavy ( more of a simulation.), this looks like more fun. Plus being partially card driven helps to remove the constant rules check, which puts this game in my most likely to pick up list. Thanks for the gameplay.
I normally do not like western style games, however the combination of mining for gold, cattle rustlers, playing poker, looting or going after bandits won me over. This game provides different options and plat styles.
Gina also “cheated.” She arrested the guy, but she wasn’t a marshal. I don’t really blame her though as Becca thought that was the rule and I myself have played it this way before finding out otherwise.
I don't think she dit. She discard the 9 and trigger the bonus effect that allow her to draw a poker card. If you watch closely you can see at 1:12:21 that the 9 is still in the discard pile.
Spoiler: The Sheriff did have some gambling problems from the start then goes to rob the bank. Wow. did not see that coming. Also, it is nice to see this show improving over time. The first episodes I watched felt weak, but the later episodes I think I do get a feel for the game.
This looks great. A bit confusing at times, but simple enough overall without sacrificing player agency. In a fight where one of those disregard cards isn't played, do both cards' actions need to be resolved, or just the winner's?
That was a lot of fun to watch. One question though: With players always being maxed out on money, is there anything preventing them from just getting easy points at the saloon / brothel (Or whatever it is called)? And is there a reason why it wasn't done more often here?
there is a gameplay loop where you just mine, deposit at bank, take that money to the brothel for points, then back to the mine. Rinse and repeat. people will try to rob you though.
It's not released yet. Most people in the EU, if any, haven't even received their kickstarter version yet so I'm pretty sure it'll be a couple of months before it'll be available for purchase.
The whole “hand limit” thing seemed useless. Almost all of them just stayed at hand limit the whole time, and drew up to like 10 cards instantly at the start of their turns by the end. What’s the point of a hand limit if you get to ignore it and carry 9-10 cards around for your entire turn?
I believe they were playing with way too many cards over their limit, especially since some of their wounds. but who cares...just saying...Love the show!!!!!
Zombicide: Undead or Alive Kickstarter is currently live at the time I post this. So far I’m fairly disappointed in what has been revealed. But it reminded me of this video. This looks so fun. I finally bought a copy and will be cancelling my Zombicide pledge. :)
Also, a lot of money won om poker and no money spent in the Cabaret. instead you just gave the money away to "charity". And why this aversion to medicin? Gettting shot as the doc is not at all bad, you can spend one action and ten dollar to get a bunch of poker cards.
Ugh!!! Why would you house rule the 2 LP Story Card... and then not play the house rule consistently. No need for any house rules, especially if you're teaching the game on UA-cam. The game has been play tested 100s of times, play it as it was meant to be played.
Oliwanto stop with this nonsense. What is the obsession with Will wheaton? it's not like he was the best bg host or something. Stop boosting his ego. I never liked his format and I'm not the biggest fan of this format either. More than anything many of the games they review are light and they barely cover any euros (and if that's their preference than that's fine). The girl does a good job explaining the rules. At least if you're going to criticize her be objective and say why you liked wheaton better.
Silver2233 That sucks, he will be missed. But I am glad they are still doing tabletop gaming. I did love the idea behind it sense many people have never known any other games other then monopoly and etc.
Nain1982 I won't lie. I like Will Wheaton. I honestly didn't know he left geek and sundry. But either way, for criticism I have none. She explains the game in depth for people which I felt tabletop lacked but tabletop had simple instructions and its humor was nice and made me laugh. The humor in this has not struck me like the other did. Her voice is nice and smooth which leads to people to enjoy her speaking and instructing. If her jokes for the instruction part of the video are part of the script they are not good. To me the jokes lack feeling and feel awkward. But other then that I haven't found anything else to really have issues with.
Mica also cheated and took 4 actions on her final turn, netting 1 LP on that 4th action. If you take that away from her and then give her 4 wanted points, she ends up tying Gina. Ties go to the player with the higher Marshall score, so Gina still wins.
I love the idea of this game, but the combat mechanics, and actually every mechanic involving the cards, is just not super interesting. Plus I feel like Poker gives too much money. You should have to work for your gear so you feel attached to it, but being able to buy and upgrade a horse in a single turn devalues the horse. And Imagine if outlaws could steal equipment? Like "Oh I had my lucky pistol, Lightning, but it was stolen. Now I have to track down the scum who wronged me and get it back". That would be awesome. Also I wish the story cards were closer to encounter cards and had... IDK... Stories. I want to like this game, but with a $75 MSRP, I think I'll pass.
Sry but the commentary and reactions in this video are so fake, it is hard to watch. You are trying so hard to be exciting and entertaining. If you are not excited, than dont fake it. You dont have to be excited. Be yourself.
Thanks for showing the game. Theme sounded interesting for me, but the game tries to do everything Western ending up doing little bit of everything, which weakens the game a bit for me. Thanks again, great job Game the Game team.
I love the sandbox idea, but I think the players need to stick to their character concept or it just turns into a meaningless race for points. I was disappointed when Bass Reeves, possibly the best lawman in U.S. history immediately robbed a bank. Obviously, you're free to do whatever you want, but it would be a more interesting and cohesive story if people "stuck to the script". Also the story cards seemed too random, it would be more interesting if there were random events/encounters associated with the different locations; a bar room brawl, chased by an angry bull at the corral, etc. Great game concept, I think it needs a little work to make it more than...a poker simulation.
I suppose it just removes the problem of running out of pot cash. If you had no limit, you could just hoard it all to keep it from the other players, lock them out of shopping, break bank robberies, & potentially unbalance things with the cabaret.
It's also for the reason of the Cabaret, where you can spend, I believe, $30 per LP. If you can have more than $120, you can just easily play poker or rob banks non-stop then go to the cabaret and dump all those money to straight away get your 15 points and trigger the end game. To avoid this breaking the game moment, they limit the cash you can carry so that at most you can get at the cabaret is 4 points. The "thematic" reason is that back then, that's all the wallet can carry or something, ha ha ha ha.
context. the purpose of this is to showcase the game, with no rules knowledge it is difficult to follow what they do sometimes. i get more annoyed when they include the rules and then end up messing up half of them in play.
I really wanted to like this game, but unless you have 5 players who love the sandbox Old Western theme, it plays kinda meh. Plus it has multiple female characters but only one female mini. Poor form.

I can not believe how bad you guys' poker games are. You guys totally forgot the: "Turn" & the "River" the 4th open card & the 5th open card. Not to mention that when you guys did the flop, you guys should have discarded the top card before putting the 3 first open cards/the fold on the table. xD lol This game needs a rematch with proper Poker rules!! xD
One of the greatest lawmen in history, and Beka has him rob a bank. 😄😂🤣
Tuberculosis is, indeed, the same thing as consumption.
Also, I think Doc's special power should be to get LP from wounds since he was actively trying to die in a blaze of glory before his disease could kill him.
That would be too good since you can just refuse to fight and take the loss penalty which includes a wound.
That was more intuitive and fun than it seemed from the initial rules. It helps when people get into the characters like that.
42:00. You can't arrest another player unless you already have at least one Marshall point.
drummond13 came here to say the same thing. They got a couple rules wrong through this play through. Overall not bad though.
I was looking for your comment.
They make this game so entertaining to watch. Great Job !
Omg mica! I miss you on The Know so much!
So much fun watching Mica try to do poker.
So nice of them to sit in order
11:38 Start of game.
This game inspired me to read a book on Bass Reeves. Thank you!
Becca Scott’s eye-shadow is on point 🤔👍
Mica Burton cheated at 1:12:03 she discard a poker card on top of the poker card stack and than she draws it again from the 9!!!!!!!!!!
Gina also “cheated.” She arrested the guy, but she wasn’t a marshal. I don’t really blame her though as Becca thought that was the rule and I myself have played it this way before finding out otherwise.
Mica is a national treasure!
I really love the theme and want to give this game a go.
Just going to say it, Becca is stunning in this episode!
Great the first time i see you playing the game correct with no errors just misses, i am so happy :)
57:48 didnt he have 4 of a kind with 2x 2s?
1:12:00 did she just discard a card to the top of the deck, and then drew that same card??
Yeah I feel like I've seen her do sneaky stuff like that in other episodes..
Shady business! Well spotted
I don't think she dit. She discard the 9 and trigger the bonus effect that allow her to draw a poker card. If you watch closely you can see at 1:12:21 that the 9 is still in the discard pile.
Spoiler:

Wow. did not see that coming.

24:23
Her movement should have stopped due to the bandit, and she would have needed to fight that bandit.
That's it, it barely started and it's already ruined
Also at 1:25:37
Much obliged, folks!
I was wondering what Mica was doing after she left Achievement Hunter... Thanks G&S!
This looks great. A bit confusing at times, but simple enough overall without sacrificing player agency.
In a fight where one of those disregard cards isn't played, do both cards' actions need to be resolved, or just the winner's?
Gina gained 2 LP at 54:38. With the house rules they just implemented should have scored both story cards!
i reckon she didnt want to full on cheat, they were just speeding things up a bit.
And then they sent Becca...The Negotiator 😎 (40:57 - 41:50)
"The double kings saved me. I'm gonna move to England and serve under the king now!"
Hehe
Wonder how long it will take them to get a Lecarda game on the table. Something like Lisboa or Vinhos.
Guys what is the soundtrack you play in the background would be cool to play this game with it.
Gina should have said, "I'm yer huckleberry." So many missed chances...
At 1:37:17 MiCa doesn't get +2LP which would have totally changed end-game :( bummer
They should invite Matt Mercer to play this game.
..only if it was filmed over 12pm
0:08 Sadly, when I saw this video, there is already a King at England.
With the rub some dirt story card it said may take a wound to draw a poker card so she didn’t have to take that wound . Just letting ya know
Bass Reeves was the realest, make no mistake.
Research suggests that Bass Reeves was the inspiration for The Lone Ranger.
If you have Mica around, give her a guest spot on Crit Role please
Done!
enjoying watching you guys play but that music is killing me
the flap?
lol
she started saying flop towards the end.
Why did Mica move twice during her first turn? How many times can you move in a turn?
I think you can take move as an action and each player gets three actions.
Weird to see Mica introduced not as being from The Know.
Just looked her up, she's LeVar Burton's daughter!!!!!!!!!
Where can i Get this game in the Netherlands or Belgium.
It's not released yet. Most people in the EU, if any, haven't even received their kickstarter version yet so I'm pretty sure it'll be a couple of months before it'll be available for purchase.
It will be available in Essen, Germany, at the board game fair SPIEL, though
Liquor in the front Poker in the rear.
How appropriate that Doc Holiday ends the game in mass revelry.
The whole “hand limit” thing seemed useless. Almost all of them just stayed at hand limit the whole time, and drew up to like 10 cards instantly at the start of their turns by the end. What’s the point of a hand limit if you get to ignore it and carry 9-10 cards around for your entire turn?
Hand limit prevents resource pooling form turn to turn.
The flop on the poker is actually 3 cards and you play 2 from hand, not 2 - 2
Can you mine 3 times for all 3 actions?
yes you can
1:25:10 guy sounds like Will Forte
You know I get that constantly for some reason
@@JordanPridgen I can. Hahaha Lucky you, right? 😃
I believe they were playing with way too many cards over their limit, especially since some of their wounds. but who cares...just saying...Love the show!!!!!
If I played Dic Holliday (John Henry Holliday) I would duel all the time
Is this the first time Becca was wearing the same shirt during gameplay as she was in the tutorial?
Zombicide: Undead or Alive Kickstarter is currently live at the time I post this. So far I’m fairly disappointed in what has been revealed. But it reminded me of this video. This looks so fun. I finally bought a copy and will be cancelling my Zombicide pledge. :)
👍
Billy the kid is Bass Reaves son and no one names him Billy Bass Reaves?
I'm really happy Gina won.
If you're anybody's huckleberry, you automatically win.
I can see the growing heat between those girls as they play poker...
Looks way better than 'Great Western Trail'.
It's not the same at all.
The lack of understanding of poker is maddening.
Same here!
yes it is
I was playing poker while watching this, so I might have missed something, but what exactly is maddening?
Also, a lot of money won om poker and no money spent in the Cabaret. instead you just gave the money away to "charity". And why this aversion to medicin? Gettting shot as the doc is not at all bad, you can spend one action and ten dollar to get a bunch of poker cards.
Shocked there is no penalty for losing all your wounds?
The Never Ending Rules Game.
You all should have gussied up in period wear.
Ugh!!! Why would you house rule the 2 LP Story Card... and then not play the house rule consistently.
No need for any house rules, especially if you're teaching the game on UA-cam. The game has been play tested 100s of times, play it as it was meant to be played.
Where is Whil Wheaton! I miss Tabletop.
Let get will Wheaton back
st ast I believe he left geek and sundry and won’t come back

Am I the onlyone who has a hard time hearing what they say on, game the game, with that loud background music?
Sounds fine on my end.
I can hear well enough, but it is very forward for background music.
It is sometimes distracting.
So Mica won because you forgot to give her the Wanted points twice but no one noticed.
Mica also cheated and took 4 actions on her final turn, netting 1 LP on that 4th action. If you take that away from her and then give her 4 wanted points, she ends up tying Gina. Ties go to the player with the higher Marshall score, so Gina still wins.

the story cards have stories on them, they just skipped reading them. i assume for time management...
Becca has a gambling addiction...

Animated Becca winked at me :)
Sry but the commentary and reactions in this video are so fake, it is hard to watch. You are trying so hard to be exciting and entertaining. If you are not excited, than dont fake it. You dont have to be excited. Be yourself.
I felt the same. They get paid by the game to make these, so that's why they act over the top.
Thanks for showing the game. Theme sounded interesting for me, but the game tries to do everything Western ending up doing little bit of everything, which weakens the game a bit for me. Thanks again, great job Game the Game team.
looks like fun, but it is a bit simple for my liking. too few options when it comes to actions. looks like a good family type game tho.
I love the sandbox idea, but I think the players need to stick to their character concept or it just turns into a meaningless race for points. I thought today was supposed to be power rangers?
You should play Warhammer!!
poor mica, doesn't know poker :) still fun to watch her. The game itself is not stellar though.
I don't understand why there is a limit on cash? what an arbitrary rule to have in a game.
I suppose it just removes the problem of running out of pot cash. If you had no limit, you could just hoard it all to keep it from the other players, lock them out of shopping, break bank robberies, & potentially unbalance things with the cabaret.

Say what you will reckon I get 200 doggys for his trigger finder ha ha
I hate when people clearly cheat on board games, like Mica did multiple times. 💀
The music was too much! Next time I hope you realize that it isn't necessary to have it playing all the ... time.
First?
...I don’t usually comment this. Just felt like it this time.
She is stunningly beautiful
Why bother with how to play videos if you're just going to include it at the start of game the game
Its a teaser for the game coming up.
some people don't care about playthroughs watch the "how to play" only.
context. the purpose of this is to showcase the game, with no rules knowledge it is difficult to follow what they do sometimes. i get more annoyed when they include the rules and then end up messing up half of them in play.
Search engine optimization. They want to get the views when people don't want to read the rules book.
how annoying
She must get so tired trying so hard.
So many rules😐
hardly. there's only about 5 different actions you can take.
I really wanted to like this game, but unless you have 5 players who love the sandbox Old Western theme, it plays kinda meh. Plus it has multiple female characters but only one female mini. Poor form.

This game needs a rematch with proper Poker rules!! xD
That is indeed one variant of poker known as Texas hold em. Not all poker is the same, and the poker outlined in this game not the one you think.
