Oh god, Blind Guardian. As a German this brings back memories. How often did we see them live at Wacken and Summer Breeze from 1995-2013... Often late at night as the headliner, totally drunk and actually carrying our friends to the stage so they wouldn't miss it. And then to sing the Bard's Song as if our lives depended on it... Must have been 20 times at least. Some of my best memories.
And how classic Blind Guardian is this song?! Beautiful! Much better than the last things they did. And of course, as an old-school Blind Guardian fan I have to agree that "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" is their best work. I even agree with your views on Gaiman's works lol.

Blind guardian are a full album band. They are unbelievably good. So much melody but at times aggressive. First track will also be great mixed together as a complete album. Great reaction mate.
Nice reaction video, you're honest! It's a pity you didn't get to see them live! I saw them twice in Athens last week!!! That's how I feel about this band!
BG is my favorite band , I've seen them last year again , as well as 21 years ago!!!

The song from "Nightfall...." You're talking about is "Into the storm" i think. Great opening song for the album.

Not a big fan of Blind Guardian but I did enjoy this one.
1st - get yourself somewhere to get to their concert, for me, it's the best one I've been to, twice. And I've been in some big ones such as Iron Maiden, Metallica and so on.
2nd - try to put this on repeat, or start this track when you are in no mood to do anything, it's envigorating.
The 1st album I heard from them was the same as you mentioned, nightfall in middle earth, and when I listen to this one I can feel the same melody building up, the same vocals, the same storytelling that Blind Guardian is so good at, Epic as everything that they touch.
Interesting that you enjoyed this so much after saying you didn't really into Beyond the Red Mirror, because to me this song sounds a lot like that album - the chorus almost qutoes Miracle Machine. Which is cool ofc, but I'm not really used to being able to make that kind of direct comparisons between albums instantly with BG.
Nevertheless, I'm still stoked to see where they're going with the album, my favourite so far probably remains Violent Shadows.
If you are interested in progmetal I recommend Aereon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. In addition to the singers from Blind Guardian and Epica, there are 9 other metal artists who can keep up vocally on the same level.
Idk listen to one album and I've heard the entire catalog. Glad they have an audience though, they are talented no doubt.
