On that day I had PE, so I asked my gym teacher if I could sit out, cause of my period (I didn’t have any shame since she was a really nice teacher) Her reaction was amazing - she put her hand to her chest and was like “girl, of course

I watched that episode when I was on my period
my first period was easy. I remember it was like 6pm or something and we were going to popeyes (don’t know why, we don’t usually do that) and before going i went to pee and i saw blood on my underwear, since i watched sharon before getting my peirod i knew what it was. So i put on one of my sisters pads and went on with my day :)
For those of you scared to get your period on a plane, I want you to know that most airlines including southwest have a little compartment net got the toilet where they have pads and tampons. It’s not labeled so you kinda have to look for it but it’s there! ♥️
The only fear about my first period, was knowing that:
#1 I can get pregnant now
And
#2 if anyone ever did anything to me without consent, then I would most likely have to not only live with the trauma, but also the child that could come along with it.

I was 9-10 when I learned about period from school, the teacher told us about it in the girls bathroom, when I heard that I could bleed every month I was so dizzy and wanted to pass out, I went back to the classroom later and had to lie down on my desk until I felt better.
I got my period 2-3 years later, on a Sunday my dad brought me to dance class, I went to the bathroom before entering the dance studio. I wiped myself only to see bloody red on the toilet paper, I wasn’t sure about it, so I asked my dad to let me talk to my mum on phone, my mum came and brought stuff taught me what to do. I didn’t end up to the dance class. We just left as I got my first period. Im surprised I was so calm when I got my period and didn’t pass out.
First period story for me- I was 11 years old, I got my period and my grandmother had to tell me. A few months later I was diagnosised with epilepsy. Yeah, so much fun right
Omg me too! Except I was diagnosed with epilepsy before my period so when I got it I just used it as an excuse of why I needed to go home! Like I had a head ache (usually leads to my seizures)

All of the hrror stories of people getting their first period without prior knowledge of what a period was makes me thankful for having a mom who educated me on what a period was. I remember when I was like 7 or 8, she made me come into the bathroom with her one time while she was on her period, showed me what a pad was and how to use it. I thought it was awkward, but it's definitely better than letting it be a surprise a few years later.
For some reason years ago I used to watch these videos waiting and wishing for my period to come, but for like a year and a half maybe I have been watching these usually on my period, and I wonder why I wanted it to come so badly. Your videos make me feel so much better btw!

For anyone who has a younger sibling, kid, friend, or you who has not gotten their period yet (even if you/they have your period yet, keep reading.) I recommend you get this book called The Body Book by American girl. They have one for younger girls and her older girls both are really good I have both. They teach you so much about your body from periods to shaving to keeping clean to eating healthy it talks about everything you need to know. It was the way that when I got my face. I knew exactly what it was and what to do. Please get this book for anyone you think could use it even if that’s you.

When I got my period my grandpa got me pads from the store cuz I did not have any and my mom was not home and the cash register person said what are you gonna do with these and my grandpa said I'm gonna eat them on the way home when he told me I died of laughter

I got my first period a few months ago and i had to do 2 presentations that day. Luckily i already knew what a period was but i was also very nervous and all i had was panty liners. Every time i had the chance i went to the bathroom and when i was doing the presentations i kept imagining blood dripping down my leg and everyone laughing at me.

I was 10 years old in 5th grade when I got mine. I was the first girl to get it in my class and out of my friends. I got mine a week or so before we were scheduled to have a period/puberty talk at school. I remember hiding it from my mom for days then she finally caught on and explained it and she also bought me pads without be having to say I started it.

And I’m CONVINCED I spoke it into existence because I was gonna go sleep over at my grandparent’s house and I packed pads because like “what if I get my period while I’m there?” And when I got there and went to the bathroom I saw blood on the toilet paper
The first time that I got my period was at school and they didn’t have pads stocked up or for the matter of fact no female hygenine stuff so I had to sit in like my own blood all day and the worst part was I was wearing white and my friends pointed it out and then the teachers noticed and made the office give me a hoodie

Your school should have known better. They need to take better care of their students. I hope that you are not required to white or uniform clothes for school. Now, I guess that you and your friends will always have to be prepared for your periods. At least lookout for each other. Your school gets a big thumbs down or a big fat "F" for caring for their students welfare. Maybe gather the girls together with their mothers and march down to the school's administration office and make a request for help. Good Luck and happier periods are on their way. I’m four months late-
I got mine last Halloween, and my friends and I were doing a haunted house on my street. I was cosplaying and I had to sit in a tree for 2 hours- just cramping up the whole time.

I got mine in summer break at home, my mom helped me with everything and I was 12 at the time.
I am so happy my mom educated me about periods from a younger age. I got my first period at school when I was 12 and luckily I had menstrual products with me. Props to my mom though. Also, thanks for your videos they are still so helpful. Love you Sharon

So, in my country, we usually have something called primary school (lasts for 8 years) and at the end of primary school, we do a national exam for three days to determine which high school you go to. Mine came THE NEXT immediate day after wrapping up that exam. It's not horrifying but I wonder how stressed was I that my body relieved that stress with a period

I'm so glad that my mom told me about periods the moment I could understand. (Around 3-4 years old.) I grew up knowing that it was normal and what to expect. Except discharge - I thought I had some sort of cancer when that started happening.
I reccomend keeping a bag with pads, tampons, and a change of underwear in you glove compartment in your car in case on an emergency because you don't wanna have to buy a box of pads JUST for that, cuz, DANG THOSE THINGS BE EXPENSIVVVVEEEE!
I heard about periods and looked everything up about it and watched your vids for almost a year before I actually got it. I got mine June 14 the day after school ended while I was riding my bike. I have heavy discharge that I had dealing with for almost 2 years but I thought it felt a little juicier than normal, it was so weird putting on my first pad. I was so worried I would leak. I now don’t worry about that and wear the huge not possible to leak ones. 👍

here's my period horror story: it was my first period, june 8, 2022 and i was at a lock-in at my high school church. we basically stay there over night and try not to fall asleep. this lock-in so happened to be an initiation for incoming freshmen and a goodbye for graduating seniors. everyone gathered into the highschool room and the incoming freshmen and graduating seniors were in the middle. someone wheeled out a cart with something underneath a sheet. the sheet was pulled back and it was a BLOODY TOILET with tampons and chocolate around it. i got so nauseous because the entire time i was on my period, my blood loss made me so nauseous and even worse, it looked like my blood. i almost threw up when the incoming freshmen and graduating seniors had to drink the punch mixture inside the toilet(don't worry it was clean). the good thing is that there was an unopened crunch bar on the ground near it and so i grabbed it and split it with my best friend

First period story: Came home from girl guides camping trip, I was dropped off by my friend dad and had cramps so I kept switching positions but I didn't know I had cramps, because I usually stay in very weird positions. But as soon as I got I went to use the washroom and there was lots of blood. Thankfully I knew what is was and my mom went to get me pads.
