The punt that landed in the mud with a thud symbolized this bad yet fun to watch throwback
That punt is the one and only thing that sticks in my mind from that game. Perhaps the most awful MNF game I ever watched; but 2022 Broncos vs Colts is a close 2nd.
This was snubbed for #1 on greatest games of all time
It is SBNation's "The Worst MNF Game"
It should go down as the Greatest Game in bad conditions. Mabye not the greatest game ever.
Honestly. I love watching low scoring defensive games
Terrible game
Unfortunately I was at this game lol… I feel asleep half way threw in the rain…. A little drunk tho lol
When the best thing about a game is the historically bad conditions of the football field.
Just realized Miami was winless at this point in 2007 just like this year so far.
And the patriots hadnt loss. We currently have the same scenario here.
@@BeeSihakhom Not for the Steelers!!
@@saadsyed8377 Patriots didn't have the #1 defense in '07 though.
@@saadsyed8377 ♫ WOP!!! ♫ WOP!!! ♫ WOP!!! ♫ WAAAAAAAA!!!
@@BeeSihakhom The Patriots just lost their first game to the Ravens and the Dolphins just won their first game over the Jets lol
9:38 craziest part of the video is that the browns are in a playoff picture
Elijah Horsman that was the year they went 10-6 with Derek Anderson and Jamal Lewis but still missed the playoffs
TheLocalLt the days of our Browns
2020 its more crazy
As a Steelers fan, this didn't age well
😂😂😂 nice one there 😂😂😂
8:52 highlight of the game
Watching NFL throwback MNF reminds me of how polished Mike Tirico is as a broadcaster, I don't know why people don't like him
There’s always someone to have a problem with anything.
I agree i just miss al Michaels is all
Because he looks like a Geek
This was just like the 49ers vs Redskins game from a couple weeks ago
Ikr
That game was hella fun to watch
16 years later we were given Vikings vs Raiders……
I’m a young buck, so I didn’t know about this game until now.
I was getting bored so I fast forwarded towards the end of the video and the score was still the same 😂
You had to be there to get it, it was a fun game to watch while it was happening because the conditions were so bad weird stuff was gonna happen like wondering if a team will get past the 50, or even be able to make a field goal
Id say it was like the Pats/Raiders 2001 game without the stakes
FINALLY A CURE FOR MY INSOMNIA!!!
This game was amazing live sideline reporters were measuring water on the field and such, punts would just stop dead. It’s boring now knowing the outcome in advance but it was literally edge of your seat because this literally could have been a 0-0 tie.
Robin' Hood Rookie you don't look that young....creep
Here after Vikings vs raiders
First thing I thought of. Now dats only bout 6 games dat have ended 3-0 in da superbowl era 🤣 rare games are dis bad
Pirates shut out the Marlins 3-0. It was more of a pitcher's duel, that day.
Who's here after the Vikings beat the Raiders 3-0 yesterday?
the punt that just stuck in the ground is iconic
8:50 thank me later
Darío Moreno Thank you-my god that thud personified this game😂
Better than the basketball getting stuck in back of the rim! LOL
That's what I came to see... Soon as I saw pit/mia mud bowl, I thought of that punt
xD
I was 8 when I saw this, and I thought it was the funniest thing in the whole world lol
How does SB Nation have this game in HD and NFL Throwback doesn’t?
It’s amazing that the Dolphins won the division next year, pats went 11-5 without Brady and the Jets lost like 6 straight games while Favre played with a broken finger
Also here after vikings/raiders🤣
I remember going to this game as a kid and the stadium had rivers flowing down the stands
This was indeed, "The Greatest game"(thanks Urinatingtree)!
UrinatingTree called this The Greatest Game.
And if you can't trust a Yinzer, who ya gonna trust?
One of the best games in the history of the NFL. No one deserved to lose that.
8:55. Highlight of the Monday night football season in 2007, right there.
This game was so frustrating yet so fun to watch.
Just an instant classic Monday Night football game. 9:07 was the iconic part of the game. It’s ironic that the 2019 Dolphins are winless just like they were in 2007
I remember sitting in a Ruby Tuesday's in New Jersey watching half of this game, mesmerized by the absolute ineptitude of both teams
Who else knew that they would upload this game?
This was the most exciting, most boring, most clumsy Monday Night Football game ever outside of the Patriots dominance the 2007 NFL season was a great season
college , also. unranked pitt beat west virginia ( pat white, slaton, bruce irvin, tayvon austin). keeping them from going to chip
@@derricktalbert6554 FACTS! I remember that because was supposed to be that West Virginia squad vs Chase Daniel & Missouri & they both blew it smh
@@derricktalbert6554 tavon austin and bruce irvin? They were non factors on those dominant WVU teams yo
It was Darius Reynaud and Owen Schmitt, also Pat White or Slaton were injured that game (wouldnt have mattered anyway) because Darrelle Revis and Lesean McCoy were on point
@@qceaz11 GREATEST times right. how much better if we coulda got that matchup. smh!
@@fredleeland2464 omg I 4got about those 2... but OWEN Schmidt was a monster. also pat McAfee lol. seriously that team was loaded. messed up when they went with their heart and made the popular choice getting Mr Stewart as HC. I wanted him too but knew it wasn't best choice lol. greatest times man.
Low scoring games are underrated.
These Monday and Thursday night matchups been trash lately
I think they should be flexed into the schedule, meaning that if you have the Bengals vs Dolphins on Sunday night football, you can swap that game out with the Bills vs Patriots
Yet this 2007 game is the trashiest of them all.
Monday night games have always been trash. Thursday night games aren't as bad but still not great though.
Remember when the best of the best played on Monday Night Football in the 80s and 90s
This is the first NFL game I ever watched and is the reason I'm still a Steelers fan 15 years later
Holy shit that's mad like who got you to watch it like imagine being told yeah you will love football it's fun and then seeing 1 FG as the points scored 😂
I was a 16 year old kid for this game, I'm a dolphins fan, my dad is a lifelong Steelers fan. And I couldn't have been more thankful for that field to make this game close instead of watching miami get killed like usual lol
The original Mud Bowl was Vikings vs. Rams in 1977. Now that was some serious mud!
Who’s here after the Vikings just beat the Raiders 3-0? 😂
Vikings fan here after we won 3-0 against the Raiders lol
8:50 what we all remember. 14:25 what we don’t. Thanx for the upload!
Watched this game stoned back in college and it was awesome. Go Steelers.
It's pretty remarkable how well the Steelers gained yardage all night, bad opponent or not.
One of the more classic games in the history of the ESPN iteration of MNF. In fact, '07 had some rather interesting results. If you are looking for something different this US Thanksgiving you should share the MNF game from this year when the Bills go to Dallas.
I love how you can’t even see the yard numbers because of the rain
This was actually a fun one to watch, bad weather, good defense. A real slug fest, I miss these defensive games
Just watch Iowa football. Takes uou back a decade
1:20 Porter really trash talking with his 0-11 team?😂😂
Was at this game.. one of only 3 games I ever went to at Heinz field.. crazy memory
Loved that game, old fashioned football 🏈
Maybe this is just cause I used to play, but these are my types of games. Not the most aesthetic, but playing in these conditions are fun especially the defense
As a landscaper, I would have a heart attack. Those are horrible field conditions. They're basically ruining 125 dollars per square foot.
Infinitely better than tonight's game
The only reason I remember this game was because of the punt where the ball hit the ground and just stood up like it was on a tee!!
Just like dad used to say...
_If there's no grass on the field.. turn her around and play in the mud_
The balls when they landed on the ground looked like they were stuck on the ground like glue!!!!
Holy shit I remember this like yesterday the way that punt just stuck in the ground lol
I remember watching this game as a kid because of the horrible weather conditions and the punt but I wasn't able to stay awake till the end, I thought it was hilarious the next morning when I found out pittsburgh only won 3-0 haha.
A game every fan dreams of
Niners redskins mud bowl 2
Adam Nowlin more like tsunami bowl 2
UGkMultiplayer monsoon*
2:00 just look at how far he slides after hitting the ground
You know your team sucks when the defense gives up only 3 points and still lose
I was there 2 watch that game
John Beck lmao... who friggin' remembers John Beck??? lmao
Cam cameron the QB whisperer
It was one muddy hell of a game lol
Tbh it was pretty fun to watch
Was the greatest game of all time.
LOVE IT
Miami Dolphins was member AFC East Division from 1970 through 1993 and Pittsburgh Steelers was member AFC Central Division from 1970 through 1993 era
Where’s the HD copy, NFL!?
SB Nation's worst Monday Night Football game
I feel the worst one was the Ravens Dolphins game where it was like 40-0
This game as a Steelers fan was fun because I knew the field would be trash because one of the best WPIAAL championship games between Gateway and Central Catholic was played, Terrelle Pryor dominated his championship game with Jeannette, then the next day Pitt got waxed by a top 5 USF
This game was entertaining because of the conditions unlike other games where it is obvious one team wasnt prepared and the other team realizes they're gonna win by the start of the second quarter and go into cruise mode
Fred Leeland that game was Thursday Night Football
@@edwingarcia2736 my bad, well if they do a Worst TNF game, it'll should that one, one of the most boring games I had on while doing schoolwork
I know the Bucs Falcons from 2015 was bad, similar reasons, bucs weren't even ready and the commentators were out by halftime
Joey porter in his old stomping grounds lmao I respected him and I'm packers fan lol
This was actually the 6th game at Heinz field that weekend. On Friday there were 4 high school championship games, on Saturday there was a Pitt game, and then this game on Monday.
ConnerRad32 This was poor planning to played this game after all those games by the NFL because there was literary no time to get the field anywhere close to being ready for the game because of those games also the weather didn't help since it was raining all day that day.
Steelers really should install Field Turf, their field is always one of the worst in football
whatappvideo.link/gI58HkVCJLMq
The Gateway vs Central Catholic game went in that year
They resodded the field after all the other games. Except they put the new turf on top of the old. The heavy rain turned it into a thick wet sponge
Can you please post the patriots-ravens classic from 2007?
Get EXCITED for this week!
This game was such a fun disaster lol. We ended up just playing drinking games and getting hammered and had a blast.
Football was so different back then
The punts by both teams were outstanding because the ball just got stuck in the field
This looked like one of my highschool games lol
War eagle auburn
These days I will only watch games that are played in bad weather on grass. The elements have always made football a better game, one that the coaches don't have complete control over. It comes down to who is the tougher team and who has the stronger will to win. The way the game was meant to be played.
Oh man I remember watching this game. The new sod they laid on the field turned into mud soup! It was an absolute slog.
Playing five games in the three days prior to that (four high school championship games that Friday and Pitt vs. South Florida on Saturday) didn't help.
@@ThreePointOneFou true. The excessive use and extreme weather of the later part of the season in Pittsburgh made this field putrid
Damn, Ted Ginn been in the league for a minute. Also, what's the lore behind Joey Porter?
He was on the Steelers since 1998 and was the heart of the defense, like a draymond green, once he was gone there was a time of wondering who would step up...then the kinda unknown James Harrison had a game vs the Ravens
One of the best edge rushers of his era against his former team.
The Dolphins went 1-15 that year being 2007. It's scary to think that team was better than this year's Dolphins team
2:35 ahh the good ole days when a 10 yard throw was considered “throwing the long pass”
Poor ravens ended up losing to this team in Miami
That made me laugh too. At the tail end of his career that was Drew's "long pass"
Long live king Winston!!!
Was there with my Dad. ❤
Why does an illegal forward pass sign look like you are crop dusting?
Unbelievable that Roethlisberger was 18-20 at one point in those conditions.
Prime Ben... Not Captain Fatf**k, Leader of Men
I don't remember Joey porter playing for anyone other than the steelers
He played for a couple of teams before returning back to the steelers
the intro was fire lol 0:29
8:50. I’m surprised no one highlighted this…
My Dad was at this game
This is the peak of bad weather football games. Borderline unplayable conditions, horribly sloppy play, next to no scoring, and of course, the most memorable play of the game is a punt (8:50).
Truly a game for the ages.
Indded the greatest game, as UrinatingTree put it
3:02
Hey,look!
Its DeMarco Murray.
Remember him?
Low Tier Trash lol should’ve never left dallas
As a Dolphins fan, I remember watching thinking this might be one that literally ends 0-0. As winless team, we would have taken it.
I watched the whole game
Wasn’t there already a game called the Mud Bowl?
That's FOOTBALL WEATHER RITE THERE
We not gone talk about how Ricky got stepped in
375 total yards combined for both teams.
Was anybody else injured other than Williams in this game? Because if not, that'd be a miracle.
Remember seeing live punt deep in ground funny
I remember this like it was yesterday lol I'm pretty sure the field was bad because of the Wpial championships were played throughout the weekend too ..or maybe that was another year either way school the next day was just like "did anybody stay up to see who won"😂
They put a new sod before the Monday Night game, the field was beaten after 4 games on Friday and the Pitt game on saturday.
The rain was heavy and ruined the work.
For real, the groundskeeping crew at Heinz Field should earn double. Hardest working crew in the game back them
@@otaviofrn_adv thank you for confirming I was right dude lol I thought I was crazy even 2 years later haha. Agreed crew worked extremely hard.💪
@@TooMuchXoxo I don't know if you ever saw the UrinatingTree video about this game. If not, he talks in depth about the days leading to the game and the situation of the field since Heinz Field opened.
Search for "the greatest game steelers vs dolphins"
I remember watching this game and thinking the score was 5-3 for some reason.
There was another bad weather game with the Panthers and Jaguars and when the weather got really bad the score was 5-3
I’m 15 a Steelers fan but that year that year two weeks later the browns in a blizzard beat the .500 bills 8-0 browns where up 5-0 entering the 4th
much as I hate the Steelers (browns fan in PA ) lookin back... these were great times when they were on top of the division.
Browns fans so pathetic holy shit
Dolphins went 1-15 that season
Ahh the years the Steelers were rockin. We all know where they are now
