Brian Billick and the ‘07 Ravens never recovered after this loss. Their only win for the rest of the year being against these Steelers resting their starters in the final week of the season. Then again their 4 wins in their 4-2 start were against the Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers when the NFC West was the worst division in the NFL in the late 2000s and a Jets team without Chad Pennington. Then they got to the hard part of their schedule against teams like the Colts, Chargers, and Patriots.
If they had any gas left in the tank, they used it against the Patriots where they had them beat basically three times but still lost. They were just flat and had nothing left to play for after that game for the remainder of the season. Despite like you said beating the Steelers in week 17, they finished with a 5-11 record and it was the end of Air McNair’s career it was also the end of the Billick era for the Ravens. And it was the last time the Ravens saw Kyle Boller starting a regular season game.

As for James Harrison, imagine being thought of so highly they let Joey Porter walk?
It's hard to believe this game was 17 years ago.. I can remember it like yesterday. I was working evening shift then and me and a couple of coworkers listened to it on the radio. I just felt this was such a fitting game for the Steelers after the way the Ravens had absolutely dominated the Steelers the previous season..
As a Ravens fan, this was the nadir of a depression season. Battered at Heinz field, Steelers legends laughing on the sidelines, the offense looking like the worst in the league. Harrison was ridiculous though. When he forced the fumble on Ed, I just had to admire how sweet a tackle it was.
James Harrison: a true legend. This was the beginning and then there was his Immaculate Interception. One of the very best players and one of the very best plays. On the other hand... That was the last of the Steelers dynasty team. As of 2023, we have T J Watt in place of James Harrison, if you will. But, in 2023, there is not at all a Steeler offensive that would be even close to what Big Ben did after those big defense plays. Right now, the Steelers are lucky if they get 3 points in the red zone, if they ever reach that far. They have to improve and fast, otherwise the Steelers dynasty will be just something to remember.
