Paul Shaffer is really great. Im impressed. Hes obviously a huge fan of Pixies, good taste, and his additions on the keyboard both in this song as well as Pixies performance of Trompe Le Monde were both great. Kudos
🌟🌟🌟🙏🙏🌟🌟🌟my nephew sang this song at my mom's funeral August 22. 2020. And also her 76 bday He is 18 years old. He also sang 2 other songs with his friends and guitar and drum's from the pixies July 2 2020 she had another stroke. Her arms legs mouth didn't move. Her eyes blinked. July 17. 2020. She went to heaven
A brilliant tune. I want this played at my funeral along with This Corrosion by Sisters of Mercy and Dvorak's Requium in A Major... ANYone with basic understanding of rock & levels of consciousness should love this tune. Rock on kids!
I have to admit, I've never been hip to the Pixies until today! I first was listing to the old stuff, but after seeing and hearing this song, it's very clear that even nowdays they still rock! Now I shall start my adventure into Pixieland! Wish me luck :o)
Wow great performance:) I must say I still think that Joey Santiago never got the respect he deserved for being a great guitar player. That is one killer Les Paul Custom, lots of feedback which adds to this great song. Long live The Pixies!
This was the first time i'd heard of Pixies. I can still remember the night this was on TV all those years ago...that's how good this performance was...
Seeing them live a few years ago was amazing. Truly, one of the most underappreciated bands of all time. Even more than a decade later, and with a bit of flab, they still shake up the crowd.
Remember the first time I seen these guys live....little over 20 yrs ago and my buddy hates its when I remind him of the line up that day..opening band "Pixies" then "Love and Rockets" and headliners was "the Cure" for about 20 bucks...
Actually, this is a pretty slick performance. Saw them in Reading a few years ago, great live band. They use minimalism to huge effect. The Pixies are timeless.
Paul Schaafer gets to be cool for 3 minutes with his keyboard accompaniment. Santiago's soaring, searching guitar. Black's screaming vocals. Deal's incredible bass and voice as a foil for Black. Amazing band.
October, 1990 was when I first heard this song. A strange and kind of creepy time--Bush Sr. was the president--but with the Pixies, Smiths and others as part of the soundtrack, it was beautiful in a dark sort of way. Lots of amazing stuff like this coming out then. And now? Dare I say it--it's like...classic rock! Gasp! Never thought I'd see the likes of these guys on Letterman then or now...
I've recieved a tape with the gig from Werchter 1989. Fell totaly in love with it. What a great band. I am a real music guy, but never listend to their music before. Now I know I missed someting. Great music !
que bueno verlos otra vez, los amo!!!, si son los papas de todo lo de los 90´s, esto lo demuestra, grandes, pelados y con toda la onda!!! y vivos jejeje
the pixies such a great band,. legendary certainly up there with the greatest ever,... Only with the chosen bands like the smiths and another real great and talented bands who did history in music......
My favorite "God is seven" scream of frank's
'If men is five, then the devil is six, and if the devil is six then Gooooood is seveeeen!!!!' great singing and performance
I just love the way David always looks like he's having a good time
Paul Shaffer is really great. Im impressed. Hes obviously a huge fan of Pixies, good taste, and his additions on the keyboard both in this song as well as Pixies performance of Trompe Le Monde were both great. Kudos
Easily one of the greatest bands of all time, they deserve so much more credit.
O rany słuchałem ich jeszcze pod koniec lat '80-ych ........wciąż super brzmią!
Some serious timelessness...
I just saw them for the first time a couple weeks ago in Boston, where it all started, and they were GrrrrrrEAT!!!
This is one of the greatest songs in the world. I have thought so for a very long, long time.
The way he focuses is crazy!
The Pixies are pure gold no matter how old they get.
Thanks for another brilliant post!
After all these years, bassist is still bangin'.
such a good song. Pixies and nirvana man that would be the best concert
They are so natural with it all, even after the big vacation.
Quality music like this goes to heaven! Forever the Pixies!!!!
🌟🌟🌟🙏🙏🌟🌟🌟my nephew sang this song at my mom's funeral

Why are they all such beautiful, amazing people!? Damn them!
they can be, it's okay
Great live rendition of a classic Pixies track. Long live Frank Black!
I always love it when Kim smiles! :)
the 90´s owes a lot to this band, and also to the smiths and the stone roses
God, the drummer's amazing!
Much better than their last appearance!
This was #48 on Blender Magazine's "500 greatest songs since you were born list."
Great song.
this is the song that made me learn how to scream/yell like a mofo thank you mr frank black
This band has been playing since i was born and they still rocks.
A brilliant tune. I want this played at my funeral along with This Corrosion by Sisters of Mercy and Dvorak's Requium in A Major... ANYone with basic understanding of rock & levels of consciousness should love this tune. Rock on kids!
A classic. The keyboard added a nice thouch to it too.
I feel like going heaven after hearing this awesome song.
This kind of song always seems to be written yesterday... a chef d'oeuvre.
I love the guitar parts!
Indie-Rock for all!!!
Greets from Germany :-)
That keyboard lick actually sits good in chorus😮
I used to be in love with Frank Black. And still am...he's a gorgeous chubby guy and makes wonderful music.
I first saw the Pixies when they and Love n Rockets opened up for the Cure. Yeah, that dates me. I still love their sound.
love it

One of the best bands ever inspired another on of the best bands ever, Modest Mouse. Thanks a lot
“Extremely influential rock and roll band...” -David Letterman
Dont think ive ever seen such a nicely dress rock band.
Great song!
Love,
Zelddaddy
Damn I LOVE this song!!! They sound OUTSTANDING live too!

Joe always has that look on his face like
"What's going on here?"
The Pixies! Miss them... Glad they're still playing music.
I heard this song was about a guy who got killed by 10 million pounds of sludge from New York and New Jersey. Supposedly he was an underwater guy.
duse your thumbnail is fucking rad. creep on bro
underwater 'GOD'
Good writer is an understatment. One of the best in the past 5 decades.
Actually, this is a pretty slick performance. Saw them in Reading a few years ago, great live band. They use minimalism to huge effect.
The Pixies are timeless.
honestly shafter is a very lucky man to get to play with the bands that come on the show and if you were a musician you would probably love that perk.
Paul Schaafer gets to be cool for 3 minutes with his keyboard accompaniment.
Santiago's soaring, searching guitar.
Black's screaming vocals.
Deal's incredible bass and voice as a foil for Black.
Amazing band.
And musically speaking David Lovering on drums may be the best of the group

pixies are basicly gothic beach boys
@@littlespitfire8955 Well spoken.
That's utter nonsense.
Still sounding awesome in 2022.
So if Kim is too sick to play a pixies show does she get Kelly to replace her?
Escucho x primera vez, y es como que juntaras a muchas bandas más actuales y las metieras en una licuadora
What a lukewarm applause. The audience obviously had no idea that they were listening to one of the most influential bands in the history of Rock.
One of the best songs ever, saw them at Reading in the late 80's - amazing.
I've recieved a tape with the gig from Werchter 1989. Fell totaly in love with it. What a great band. I am a real music guy, but never listend to their music before.

One word. "CLASSIC".
A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
One of the most beautiful songs ever
que bueno verlos otra vez, los amo!!!, si son los papas de todo lo de los 90´s, esto lo demuestra, grandes, pelados y con toda la onda!!! y vivos jejeje
Best performance of this song I've ever seen.
This was great. It made my day, stuff like this is why they invented the damn internet.

They are fantastic live, I didnt think they would be this good
the pixies such a great band,. legendary certainly up there with the greatest ever,... Only with the chosen bands like the smiths and another real great and talented bands who did history in music......
Awesome. Thanks for posting this.

i love every lyric of this song.
RoryM92... love the beat down. That was awesome! LOL

Wow, great song. Music that makes me feel again.
That was the Pixies at their best - respect very much due...
Still good 12 years after they last played together as a band.
Actually they have gotten better than ten years go.
I couldn't wait their new recording material.
Anyway I am really big fun of them.
Pixies are awesome :)
Going to see them play this march. So excited : )
