    Another superb, clearly spoken explanation of the topic. My specific interest is in the Octopus board and I have watched all your videos to date on that board and they are all excellent. I would really like you to do a tutorial on adding a second extruder. This video covers the fan so it would be the hot end control this is needed. In particular how to control the second hot end with Gcode to test it in Pronterface.

      Thanks. I mean that even show people how to add a third extruder. Unfortunately we're in a heatwave so my recording has slowed again.

    great video! had my hotend fan in the wrong plug caused awful heat creep clogs. watched this not only figured that out but now my hotend fan only runs at 50+ instead of all the time!

    Hi Ed, and thank you for this as well as the Discord group. I've just added a 2nd cooling parts/layer fan, but I'm not sure which changes I need to make. Only 1 of the 2 seem to come on, but they both work 100% on their own. By default, I didn't have to designate any pins for my original single layer fan (it was plugged into PB6) Adding a fan to PB7 only made that fan work, but not my original fan in PB6. I'm kind of stumped. My slicer had no issue turning my original fan on while only connected to PB6.

      I'd need to look at board configuration and configuration files to understand issue better. A couple of people in discord know how to set it up. I might be busy the next day or two as my day job just got a little busy

      @@EdwardBraiman I figured it out. The solution was to do nothing lol. My slicer turns them both on for my third layer height cooling. I moved the fan for my stepper cooling (made corresponding fw changes), but the other 2 auto came on for my third layer when plugged into PB6 and PB7. No fw changes needed👌

      @@EdwardBraiman I wanted to say 1 more thing I thought of: when using octoprint and turning on the layer fan, only 1 of the 2 turn on, but when printing they both come on from the slicer.

      It's gcode driven commands. So that means you can test in something like Pronterface.

    One thing i cant find anywhere is how to activate the generic 12/24 v pins for constant always on fans for fan headers 3 and 4... Or I guess fans 4 and 5 depending who you ask, along the top of the board.

      I Have a BBT SKR2 Rev B but am looking for a new Thermistor for the Micro Swiss Hotend I have
      My Hot End Temps go Up and Down 3 to 5 degrees, (would not start a print), changed from 255 to #define BANG_MAX 150 and this fluctuated less so a lot better; still testing: Yes PID done, Yes Rev B checked MOSFET number
      Also fluctuates: Really bad Servo Jitter since installing BTT SKR2 Rev B. see:-

    I bought a 60mm 12v Silent noctua fan for the board and drivers and some buck converters. Would I just pull the 24v for the fan off the port in the order board-buck-fan?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  3 роки тому

      A buck converter might work, but I'll need to try to answer better.

    hello thanks for your videos, how can I make the probe do more than 6 measuring points on the plate probe?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  3 роки тому +1

      Inside configuration.h under levelling there should be a variable for that. I can remember the name of it off the my head, but look for UbL and it's around there.

    PB6 and PB5 work, but if you try to use PB7 you get an error on compile claiming
    #error "You cannot set E0_AUTO_FAN_PIN equal to FAN_PIN."
