    Bonjour de France. 😀
Super boulot. Même si je ne parle pas anglais, j'arrive à comprendre grâce à la traduction automatique. Merci de nous aider à bien comprendre Marlin, Vscode et à configurer nos imprimantes.

    Hello from France.
Great job. Even if I don't speak English, I can understand thanks to the automatic translation. Thank you for helping us to understand Marlin, Vscode and to configure our printers.

Great information! Thanks to you, the beast is waking up. We would also like to see other components made, such as filament sensor, hot bed sensor, BL Touch etc. Maybe even a complete 3d printer setup with Octopus mb from a to z :D

    Hi Ed,
your video´s are great. I only have one comment in case of the extruder fan. The fan 0 is automatically assigned to hotend 0, so you have nothing to change.
    Best regards
    Erhard

Hi Ed, thanks for the videos on the BTT Octopus, they really help a lot! I am currently building a big scale (cartesian) 3d printer using the BTT Octopus v1.1, where I have 4 nema17 steppers for my z-axis, 2 for the y-axis, 1 for the x-axis and 1 for the extruder. I've learned from your videos how to set up and test the motors (and they work great when I test them using pronterface), but I'm not quite sure how to make the next step towards getting an actual working printer that I can give printing jobs and commands via Cura. Are there any video's you recommend on this topic, or perhaps specific redditpages/discordservers? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks again! :D

There's a Discord link in my description. Most people in general chat can help with details. There's over 800 people there.

Is there a way to configure for the part cooling and heatsink cooling to be automatic. I've been able to use controller fan for cooling the board and drivers, and part cooling attached to main extruder, but the heatsink fan doesn't and I have to manually turn on and off when printing and when done. My board has three variable fans to which I can connect, but can only have two of three fans be automated.

Hi @Ed, May I ask how come my auto_fan does not turn on the fan?, and also how do you enable the hotbed for the display?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  Рік тому

Depends on display. There's a link in description to Discord either myself or someone else can help in General chat.

so with this where do i connect part cooling fan for gcode controled like in cura
Edit1: had to move the hotend fan 1 over for PE5 since PA8 is used for part cooling well atleast in screen its fan 1
Edit2: so to make it clear plug part cooling in PA8 and hotend fan in PE5 for me sanity go berzerk because the part cooling seem to be assigned to PA8 i am wondering why your go fine
Edit3: dangit a year later i see you already changed it to PE5 i must have skipped that part or something xD

Hi I got a question about the hot end, is the hot end 12v, or 24v please

It can be either, depending on the power supply.

Hi Ed, your videos are great.
Thank you for your effort and for the great explanations. I am currently converting my cr10 version 2017 to Klipper/Fluidd with a BTT Octopus v1.1.
    Your videos help tremendously.
Even though I work in electrical engineering, it's nice to have help.
    Please keep it up.
Maybe you can answer a question for me:
I didn't understand what the jumper at J38 on the Octopus V1.1 is set for (24V, 12V, 5V). I can set the fans (FAN 0-7) with the overlying jumpers regarding the voltage. So why do I set the jumper at J38 (24V,12V,5V)?
    Greetings from Germany

Just wondering how much they are paying you to shill for these crap boards? Tried to order a manta, but they switched on me sometime between the time i ordered and the time they shipped and I got one of these crap octopus boards. Been going on 3 days now and as of yet, I can not get the POS to run mirrored AB motors on a double H-bot build. It will not run 4 motors at once. BTT bate and switch me and seem to do it with a 101% crap board. Now I know why no one has a config or is using a BTT octopus for a 4 motor xy. They can't do it! Nice of them to let us know. Spent almost $200 with that worthless company and have NOTHING to show for it.
DO NOT BUY BIGTREETECH - YOUR LIKELY TO GET AS SCREWED AS I DID!

@@EdwardBraiman OK, not shill'n, my apologies. Went to your discord and asked. No one seems to have a clue, which leads me to believe the boards are not capable of doing what I need and if they ever were, no one seems to have a clue as to how. Thanks anyway. At least I know the Mellow Fly Super works and there is a klipper config published for dual AB motors for that board. Just hate having to throw good money after bad.
