@@PcCentric Hello Markus , may i suggest not using video titles like these unless it's for real and about what most will naturally assume. It's not funny, it's not cool, it doesn't make a persons day to see that you're not leaving. As for me, it's enough to make me want to unsubscribe, so all the best and goodbye.
@Pc Centric You inspired me with your all white phanteks nv7 build so I would recommend the all white nv5 build. Go with the nzxt b650 motherboard, I would choose the 7950x3d cpu, I believe phanteks has a white/ clear gpu block for water cooling, the corsair dominator is nice ram, I would also recommend the nv5 case, corsair has white 1,000 watt power supplies as well. This build will look nice. Go with the phanteks white d30 fans or cheaper fans. Of course go with the 4090 gpu as well I would rather you have more then what you need instead of less.
As someone who owns a NV5, one thing I'll recommend is be sure to try and DIY your own air filter for the side intake. Side intake is very open, very good for airflow, but the fans can get dusty very easily and it's such a pain to clean them from the backside. Something else that might be worth experimenting with is using that bottom fan mount as a mounting point for the pump/res combo. I don't know how well it'll work, since I'm mostly sticking with a blackout air-cooled NV5 myself, but always figured that bottom location would be a practical place for reservoirs.
Looking forward to seeing this build! If you do go with the ICUE Link fans, from someone who has water cooled their own computer using Link fans, get the 90-degree cables. The clearance between the cable port and where your fittings go is terrible, and even with super low profile fittings they will not fit, which limits your options for tube configuration. (Also, I don’t advise using the Link fans for a build where your color scheme is important, they’re currently having a software issue where sometimes the rgb can’t be completely controlled so my slick purple-and-white rgb setup is now purple-and-rainbow for three of my 9 fans.)
As for your 10Gbe problems, try some CAT 8 cables. 10Gig over Ethernet is inherently unreliable because of signaling errors. You need cables with the best shielding to eliminate problems. Not all cables are made to the same quality either so you CAT 6(A) cable(s) may just be poor quality which are the root cause of your issues.
I always give my old gaming pcs to my dad, he gets an upgrade and can play flight sim and i get to feel like ive given something back to him for being a great dad. Win win for me
Don’t use any EKWB parts for the loop, because ethically they’re in the mud right now - I’d recommend alphacool personally for price and definitely performance
@PcCentric Yeah, I was going to say the same thing strictly from an optics standpoint; people are out with the pitchforks. I personally do not have any experience with them simply because I never had the budget for it.
You have done well to resist for long. The toughest thing to give up is stability of a weather system, so many unknowns to iron out when changing platforms, I guess that's half the fun.
The X3D doesn't really have the compute horsepower for heavy processing work like a lot of editing, but if you only do a little editing and primarily game, X3D is the obvious choice. I think the 7900X has the same game performance as the 7700X, from the reviews I have seen. The 7900X3D seems like the middle ground at first, but it is kind of a mess. So curious what the 9000's will look like. We will get some info in a month probably.
I know soft tubing is much easier, but the hard tubing looks SO much better and seems to be so much more rewarding. Seems like a much funner project as well. Imho, soft tubing looks bad and sloppy. I even prefer an aio look over custom water cooling with soft tubing. But hard tubing is gorgeous.
As you have a phanteks case, what about using their D30 fans? They do them in reverse flow too for looks and they are pretty quiet for the amount of flow you get from them. Daisy chainable too!!!
Pc centric u love ur vids man... ur vids encouraged me to build a pc, but I dont know much about motherboards, psu, and cases i rlly need help to get the perfect size. All black rgb fit btw.
What type of case do you want? If its your first build go with a ATX case I would recommend the lian li 216 its a really good case and easy to build in. You will need a ATX motherboard too. I would go for the msi b650 tomahawk
I am neither knowledgeable, nor experienced in PC watercooling, but I'll do as people browsing the Internets, or Internet explorers if you please, would do and give my advice nonetheless. Distilled water is king for watercooling. That is all
It's amazing that you depended on an old processor like that, for years, and for your channel / livelihood... With, literally, every other processor there is, available to you, faith was kept with the Old Reliable, and it did it's job. Says a lot about the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach, and just because it's new & shiny, it's not necessarily always the best option to have the latest, greatest, of everything. Looking at you, 14900K(S)...
That Alphacool block looks very good 👌👍! Now that EK is going "down the drain", Alphacool is a very good alternative. They've got really cool radiators as well...😉!
Honestly I think the best option is the 14700k and a manual tune with some nice Hynix A die ddr5 8000mt/s, especially if you use adobe, it prefers intel and quicksync helps a tonne
The alphacool core stuff is awesome. Have their block in my 4090. As for a white block, nothing a bit of white vinyl can't fix to match the build. For fans, alphacool have their stealth fans in white, and they also have the radiators in white that match the white in the phanteks white cases rather well. The blades are black, just the frame around them is white. Bequiet recently launched the pro4 fan in white as well, just not sure how they match the white of the case. Either of those 2 options would help keep things cool and silent. For fittings again, alphacool have some that could work for you very well. They have some really nice pump res combos.
@PcCentric vinyl wrap, that way you can get a few samples 1st and see what matches the best. Could even get a custom print done at a shop. The terminal on the alphacool core block comes apart. You can get rid of all the black pieces on it.
Gotta give a huge shout out to AlphaCool as well, I needed an awkward very small AIO liquid cooler and this company really went above and beyond - Eisbaer 92l is solid copper! Superb piece of hardware and performs so well that it equals a 120mm AIO liquid cooler. Can't say enough good things about AlphaCool, which is refreshing when Asus been dropping the ball for years and now Corsair as well.
Why retire a PC? Just build another like I do. Having 2 or 3 great machines is really useful to have around for testing, backup, server/network labs, video capture, etc. Turn it into a Linux gaming machine for Steam.
Personally, if I could build another new rig, I’d go these, gathering the parts as soon as they start hitting markets - Intel core ultra 7 ASUS BTF Mobo (DDR6) 5080 BTF NZXT/ lian li BTF case 1000w GOLD PSU EK custom liquid for it when they release plates for Mobo n GPU. all white built with tropical theme (LTT kids inspired) LG 32” 4K Oled
I'd personally take the white gigabyte or rog strix x670e over that nzxt board, or even the gigabyte b650e ice. That white pcb on the gigabyte board is sick. The rog strix bately has any black showing on it either. I'm just not a fan of nzxt products, outside of some of the recent cases. Too bad asus dorsnt make the pro creator board in white, as it has built-in 10gb network adapter. I think your fan choice is spot on with the al120s for fans. Another case option I'd look at is the Antec C8. The attention to detail with the white motif and price are pretty impressive.
As an expert, I'd love your advice on this. So I want to start gaming, and I'm caught between buying the PS5 or building a gaming PC. So I'd like some advice on which is better,is it building a gaming PC or the PS5.
Well, that was one way to get my attention! In serioiusness did you not try making a hardline cooled computer about 2-ish years ago, but ended up running into problems with the CPU just not being adequately cooled? Hopefully your newer computer will avoid that issue and be properly chilly! (I see you did discuss this one :) ) GPU water blocks - I actually think the aesthetic wouldn't be bad keeping the black or clear block instead of trying to re-paint it. :) With respect to the Ryzen, JayzTwoCents was actually complaining a while back that for some reason his 7950X3D system would just never be 100% stable and I don't know if it's because his particular motherboard had issues or not, but I'd definitely suggest bench testing the system prior to assembly and seeing if you can probe for any instabilities prior to water-cooling the lot. Also I've heard memory stability has come a long way since the B650(E) first came out so that too is a factor, Good luck! :)
Just make sure to set the cpu voltage to 1.2v (or something like that) or it does run hot. when my 7950x is on default/auto, it'll run at like 1.45v and 65v in bios/windows/idle. which is stupid. with the voltage set to 1.2 it sits at around 40c, HOWEVER these are with an AIO. water would bring it down, but still recommend the voltage setting.
I think white builds look sexy. I have the corsair 6500x in white that I have built - apart from the gpu - am awaiting the new 50 series. How about the white corsair water cooler with temp on it?
Can you do a video on water cooling liquid? I know some are better/last longer than others in some ways and I want to know what you think is best to put in a water cooled pc. Even if you recommend a few brands for this video, i just don’t know much about brands and you might have information i might not have.
