You all remember because your parents were so very cool.
You heard Foreigner, and you knew the minute you heard it, it took you back to listening to the chorus. "I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS".
    Same thing with Toto!!!

My husband and I are the biggest Toto fans! We’ve seen them 14 times from very small venues to arenas! Their entire catalog is amazing! I have a lot of favorites but I would suggest I Will Remember or Afraid of Love. Not as popular as their mainstream Africa and Rosanna (that I’m sure everyone will request) but they are so good! Toto’s band members have played on so many other’s music, even Michael Jackson. Exceptional musicians!

The singer is Bobby Kimball he was on their first 4 cd's. Excellent band and reaction. You are pronouncing it right. They named the band after the little dog on wizard of oz. Check out more TOTO like "Rosanna", I'll supply the love, Africa, (Pamela with a different singer). Guitarist Steve Lukather sang lead on some of their hits to. They were studio session players that played on other's hit songs and formed their own band. Thanks guys.

Isn't it fun when you find a song you were looking for? Yes, they are pronounced Toe-Toe. Toto is bad ass!! They are best known for "Africa" but I've always preferred "Hold The Line". The part "it's not in the way you say you're mine ewwwwww ewwwww" I love to sing it when I DRIVE!! Most of their songs are slower but I love this banger.

Visited the R&R Hall of Fame a couple of years ago. The exhibits on the main floor are mostly tributes to the 60's classic rock bands. One floor is an exhibit hall for the award winners, another floor is for the pioneers of rock from the 50's. The remaining floors are tributes to Rolling Stone Magazine - the cover photos, a recreation of the original office, etc. If the nomination board doesn't recognize what Toto and the band members have contributed over these years... they're never going to get it.

Flippin heck, this takes me right back to the 70s!! It was played everywhere and is so familiar to me! It's a great song and I love another one of their songs, Africa - it has a lovely riff. Gosh, we did well in the 70s - so much new music was coming out and we just took it all for granted. It's great that so much of it is still played and appreciated today! One thing guys, I just wondered if you are planning to react to some more AC/DC? Some great songs are Highway to Hell, Rock or Bust, Rock the Blues Away to name but three. They brought out a new album, Power Up, in November last year and it was so good that they were able to do that. I've downloaded a few tracks from it and to me, this album is classic AC/DC which is great. The tracks I've got so far are Witch's Spell, Code Red and No Man's Land. It would be great if you could react to one or more of them. Many thanks and thanks also for this reaction. Cheers.

There were people who used to slag them off for being perfect, I remember it, I used to play less well known tracks to the friends who were in the daft camp, when they said "wow thats so good who is it?" tell them it was Toto, that was best way to shut them up, never heard that about any other band but for some reason there was lot of snootiness about Toto which I never understood. He says "Rick this is Eric" I shook his hand and said hello. Then my instructor said go on into the studio I will be there in a moment. @@johnseverson6604 😆, couple side notes to this story. About 6 months later I had just got home after my friend Keith and I had taken two girls on a double date. My curfew was midnight. One of our 2 main Rock stations (in Orange County Ca) were KLOS & KMET. as I got into my room I turned on my stereo and immediately I hear the DJ say "caller #9 wins the tickets. I started dialing not even knowing what the tickets were for just wanted to win something. Turns out my 2nd attempt I was caller #9 and the tickets were for "the tubes" opening for Toto at Irvine meadows amphitheater" to this day it seemed like an odd pairing tunes and toto 🤔. The other note was that I learned real quickly that I had almost zero aptitude for music, so the lessons ended quickly after about 3 weeks. I dove heavily into sports though. Still wish I would have tried harder to learn the drums or guitar.

Toto was EPIC and it doesn't get much better than Toto back in the 80s -- especially with their album, 'Toto IV'! It won a Grammy in 1982 for Album of the Year and the song "Rosanna" won Record of the Year. Out of Toto's nine Grammy nominations in '82 they won seven! The band's lineup at that time was unmatched with the three Porcaro brothers: Jeff: Drums, Mike: Bass (Jeff & Mike were gone too soon and are sorely missed) and Steve: Keyboard; Steve Lukather: Lead guitar & Vocals; David Paich: Keyboard & Vocals; Bobby Kimball: Vocals. Bobby sang lead on "Hold The Line". I wish I could've seen them perform live in person.

TOTO is much more than the three or four songs mentioned often. Big hits yes, but much more than these. TOTO IV is outstanding from start to finish as is Hydra and the self-titled album which this song comes from. As others have said, many members have contributed to major hits from Boz Scaggs to Michael Jackson. They get a bad rep for being "studio musicians" but if you've heard them live, the truth is known. Best example is their live concert in Amsterdam 2003 which is available on CD and DVD. Its outstanding.

Toto was a group of very talented musicians. There was a few singers in the band at the same time. The lead singer for this particular song was Bobby Kimball. Other singers we're David Paich on piano and Steve Lukather on guitar.

That's Bobby Kimball singing lead on this song, although they all take turns singing on most of their songs.

"I'll Supply The Love" from the same album is also upbeat and super, brilliantly-catchy. Check it out.
