"I bless the rains down in Africa" ... "I know that I must do what's right, sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti" ... "The wild dogs cry out in the night, as they grow restless longing for some solitary company" - I love the lyrics to this song, always makes me want to jump on a plane and go to Kenya on a safari!
Hello brothers ! Another beautiful reaction video. I will indicate some more songs from TOTO: I'll Be Over You Lea(my favorite song) Rosanna Georgy Porgy 99 Greetings and hugs from Brazil.
Toto are among the new gods of Rock n' Roll!!! This song is a MASTERPIECE!!!!! Excellent!!!! They have two lead singers!!! Toto is in concert in my city.....Sacramento, California....USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love so much of Toto…..but Ive heard this song just too many times. They are on tour and will be in Europe this summer. You guys should go if you can. Steve Lukather is a beast on guitar
One of my favorite songs of all time! I’ve listened to this for 40 years and never grow tired of it. This was s song that a lot of the band members didn’t want to record because they felt it wasn’t there style but the lead singer convinced them to record it and it turned out to be one of their biggest hits
There’s a video about the song. The members talking about it. Some band members didn’t like the song, (Africa) but that all changed when it came out, and became a hit. (Obviously)
Here's a song that will blow your minds and her voice wil give you an eargasm. The band is a metal band the song is more of a ballad though at the start and gets faster as the song goes on. Asami the singer started as an R&B singer before being recruited to sing power metal. The 2 guitarists are both better than many guys even though they are from Japan all but 1 of their songs are sung in english since Asami studied in the states she has been able to translate the songs to English for the band. Miyako the Guitarist /Pianist does much of the song arrangements along with Miho the Bassist and founder who unfortunately ended up leaving the band for personal reasons. They are currently auditioning bassists. also there's another guy who helps them from another band with their song arrangements I believe his name is Mao. The drummer and cofounder Haruna is the smallest at 4'9 but her sound is very emmense. Midori is the shredder though Miyako may be the more melodic she can also still shred too. enough introduction here's Lovebites Edge of the World ua-cam.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/v-deo.html
What a difference 3 years can make, "Lay It On The Line" came out in 1979 and "Africa" came out in 1982, "Lay It On The Line" was more hard rock then this comes along with it's more easy listening/pop rock vibe. Awesome reaction, thanks!
The big glasses with thick frames were a style thing in 70s through 80s (ref Janis Joplin, Elton John). Late 60s-70s also tended toward itty-bitty eyeglass lenses (ref John Lennon) that barely covered the eyeball. Some of the things that I wore back then look pretty weird now, especially the 80s with the big shoulder pads, leg warmers, torn-looking blouses/tops, colored leggings, high top sneakers, etc.😳 OTOH most of the 60s-70s hippie-type styles still look mostly cool/normal to me nowadays. 😉
We need to get you to listen to Home Free !!!! This is a song I have wished that Home Frtee would cover for a very long time. One of my favorite songs !!!
Great reaction Bro´s! But I would say every song by this band is fantastic!! Just heard a song here on UA-cam by Toto from the year 1979!! "Hydra", check it out!! Plus the song that made me (the hardrocker) start listen to "other music": "Endless" (from the Isolation album). You two are great by the way, I appreciate you! 🙂
The guy who sings the lead on "Hold the Line", sings the lead on the chorus on "Africa". But a different lead singing the verses. I believe, haven't heard Hold the Line for a while. Sorry, don't know the names.
Great tune/reaction….I’ll say it again…..1,524,964 views so far. YOU will like it too 4 black brothers with a white drummer created this ICONIC Masterpiece from the 60’s Psychedelic Era Trust me…. You two guys are absolutely fantastic; you both have such a great appreciation of this music. I wish more people were like the two of you. Thanks very very much. If you get a chance please consider giving us your review of a deep cut from Billy Joel”s 52nd Street Album. The song is called “Until the Night” I think you will both find it simply amazing. Peace be with you both. Thanks again for your consideration
Hi George & Patrick thanks for the video . Im Just getting all the things ready to start a reaction channel just needed to ask a quick question regarding youtube fair use , i see you guys play a lot of music videos just wondering is it possible to make money with reaction videos with playing so much nice music videos and do they get blocked a lot and how do you make sure that youtube allows the video without getting any blocks or strike . Please can you advise . Cheers Guys.

Fabulous song, one of my favourites from Toto, beautiful melody and great vibe. Once you hear it, it's in your head, I will now be humming or whistling it for the next while! Yes, guys, it is a masterpiece, and it certainly brings back memories of the 1980s for me, it was played everywhere, it actually came out in 1982. I'm pretty sure I had the single, and I also downloaded it a while back. Thanks so much for your reaction, guys, and for reacting to this fab song. Take care now and keep safe. PS another great song from Toto is Rosanna, I think you'd like that one too!
Toto were all ace studio musicians and members of Toto played on albums by Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs and Michael Jackson. Wonderful song from an incredible band!
“Rosanna”, “Georgy Porgy”, “99” are also all amazing songs from Toto to check out. Some of the best musicians of all time, performing on countless albums of the 70s, 80s, workhorses in the studio for other artists. And their harmonies are some of the best ever!
I've heard this song for forty years and I still get goosebumps, triggers, chills and tingles. Yes Toto's masterpiece. You only get one and this is it. The song above all others. What was the Beatles one masterpiece? Good question!
Best song Toto ever did IMO. It also gave me chills, not the first time I heard it, but EVERY time I heard it for the first year or so. I don't know what makes it such an emotional experience, but it definitely is. When I was growing up, Africa was called The Dark Continent; it was one big mystery. Over the decades we have developed so many connections to it. In fact my younger daughter was there year before last, and my older daughter is part of a group raising money to build a hospital near where her sister was. Is that a coincidence? I don't think so. Your reactions were so exactly perfect for this song.
Iconic song! Such beautiful and emotional harmonies. Unforgettable. They are known for their musicianship. Guitarist Steve Lukather was touring with Ringo Starr right before the pandemic. Thanks for the reaction guys! ✌🏼
One of those songs with a chorus-line you NEVER forget. That is songwriting genius. So many wonderful memories from the time this song came out. Thanks guys!
Great song choice. I love how the guy wearing the Boston-shirt got emotional when he heard the song. It was really nice to see someone like me, who not only hears music, but also FEELS it ❤❤❤
The best Toto song, and indeed, this is emotional beyond, I think it's the magic of the high tone in the chorus, it makes the love for Africa really hearable and thus feelable. I love how you love our music dear bros, it really gives me hope for the new generation, because if they at least can recognize quality it means the soul keeps on travelling.
Hi Boys - the lead singer (David Paich) in this clip is usually the primary keyboarder, the main singer is later Steve Luckather (with guitar), the second lead singer is Bobby Kimball (the one with the brighter voice, sitting on the floor). My favorite is the gifted bass player Mike Porcaro - and what is actually true in almost every band - they say the bass player is always the most beautiful - so also here (in my opinion!) A fascinating band with talented musicians and extraordinary songs: Africa, Rosanna, Hold the Line, I`ll be over you and many more.
David Paich is an incredible and massively underrated songwriter. That said, Toto is an INCREDIBLE band! Al-around world-class musicians. Also massively underrated!
Toto also had a big No. 2 U.S. hit with "Rosanna," which was inspired by actress Rosanna Arquette ("Pulp Fiction," "After Hours" and "Desperately Seeking Susan" with Madonna).
That’s amazing, right? You know I often wonder what it is about certain songs or parts of songs that seem to appeal to so many people/ like the chorus in Africa - when I first heard this song when it came out, I would play it over and over just to hear that chorus - it gives chills as you both experienced. I haven’t got tired of it either. Someone should come up with a list of songs that this happens with. Hallelujah by Lenard Cohen is one that comes to mind- Rufus Wainwright’s version for certain - but almost any version.
Another nice heartfelt reaction guys. 😊. “I’ll Be Over You” and “I Won’t Hold You Back” are two of their best ballads and two of the best ballads of the 80s. period.
Whatever year it came out, it won the "Song of the Year" award on whatever award ceremony does music. It was quite controversial . The hard core rockers felt it was too "produced". But what they did not know, if they bothered to listen to and know that the band is essentially composed of the best studio singers alive. It is miraculous.
Toto was a supergroup full of top top sessionists.
They decided to make an album,it sold millions, the rest is history.
Superb musicians.
Are a supergroup they are still here producing excellence
Every time when they go into the harmonious chorus my goosebumps get goosebumps I’ve probably heard it 500 times
YESSSSS!!!!
Same, it never gets old. It's astonishing, really.
Make that Tanzania. Both Kilimanjaro and Serengeti are in Tanzania, not Kenya.
My favorite song, of ALL time... it came out when I was 8... and I'm 48. Nothing beats it...
This is still one of the best songs that I enjoy listening to.
Bro's, their "Rosanna" is a banger and next for you!!
Yeah if you like transitions, Rosanna is going to knock you over.
...and after that, Pamela.
as much HEART in this song as there is in Africa--believe me, I've lived there (the year this song came out): incomparable!!!!!
You need to hear "Rosana". And since you ask: "Rosana" was actually written about Rosana Arquette. :)
Was a young kid when this first came out, and i thought it was ridiculous, now I absolutely love it.
Hello brothers ! Another beautiful reaction video.
I will indicate some more songs from TOTO:
I'll Be Over You

I don't know who who is here, but the raw emotion in the guy on my right was so wonderful to see!
Their cover of George Harrisons "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is one of the finest out there.
WHEN MUSIC TOUCHES OUR SOUL….GODSPEED
brilliant gentlemen - you get it
I liked your sincere reaction both of you. God bless you both!
Love this song 🥰
Love so much of Toto…..but Ive heard this song just too many times. They are on tour and will be in Europe this summer. You guys should go if you can. Steve Lukather is a beast on guitar

This was s song that a lot of the band members didn’t want to record because they felt it wasn’t there style but the lead singer convinced them to record it and it turned out to be one of their biggest hits
There is a sphere in the Saharan desert that plays this song on a loop.
Hard to believe this song is 40 years old.
There’s a video about the song. The members talking about it. Some band members didn’t like the song, (Africa) but that all changed when it came out, and became a hit. (Obviously)
This song is really delightful.

Toto - Stop LovingYou, Georgy Porgy, Rosanna, Don't chain My Heart, Lea, She knows the Devil, I'll be over you, I will remember etc,
The one singing the high notes during the chorus is the same singer for Rosanna and Hold The Line.
Bobby Kiimball
@@melvinnance5029 yes, Bobby Troy Kimball. And the singer after him that sang Pamela was Joseph Williams.

Written about the songwriter's GF, Roseanna Arquette.
I prefer Africa personally
africa is better!
Africa is their best song and most popular by far.
Bobby Kimball sings the chorus, my favorite vocalist of Toto. Great reaction, I agree, this is a masterpiece
Bobby Kimballs vocals are insane
I always cry while listening to this song. It’s so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this. I thought I was the only one. Does it to me every time

I still have the Toto IV album. It’s so good. “I Won’t Hold You Back” is a favorite.😊
The drummer Jeff Procaro did drums for Steely Dan, so you can see what level drummer he was.

There are a handful of songs that when you hear it, right off the bat you are in love with it.. When Doves Cry is another one for me.

Such a great song by such a great band. Some of their other songs are outstanding also. Good reaction guys.
I never really understood this video-- it's so violent, yet the song is so soulful.
It's one of those songs that feels soooo emotional and nostalgic. It's not surprising that George felt emotional about it. Great reaction! ♥
Next up for Toto: "Rosanna" from this same album.
