Alex May aahah thanks Alex! Yeh, we actually ended up being really lucky with only one day of real rain even though it was forecast the whole weekend. Sometimes you’ll get a miracle though!
Vid was amazin mate, love yer headlight conversion on yer triple, I live across the river from Loch Lomand, love the Glencoe road, cheers for this, brilliant, have liked and subscribed.
Something very nice and chilled about this vid - makes me want to ride! Re brake fluid, it should never be low - if it is there is probably a clue about your pads! Look forward to the next vid 👍
Good stuff Henry and yeah looks like for the majority of time you got lucky with the weather. NC500 seems to have a think for breaking gopro screens... My session lense got broken during our NC500 this year.
We definitely did! Last year we had incredible weather too apart from our final day riding to John O’Groats. Fantastic to ride in but the moody scenes also have their charm! I’ll happily sacrifice a GoPro lens for the views and memories! Hope you had a good trip aside from that!
@@HenryCrew35 Aye the moody skies add something for sure. We did yeah, did it all in 24 hours and still managed plenty photos and laughs. Video live on channel now if you wouldn't mind (and would like to give it a look).
Brilliant video, we've just discovered your channel and had to hit that subscribe button. This video has made us even more determined to do the NC 500. Keep up the great work and we're looking forward to checking out your other videos 👍Team RevZolution 💪
Good luck if you miss a turn is all I can say, if you don't have signal it won't re-route and will go straight into compass mode. In the highlands it might be quite a long time until you get to a place with signal again
Duncan Fraser if you miss a turn without signal it doesn’t go to compass mode it just won’t reroute and tells points you back to where you made the wrong turn so you can rejoin your planned route. I have had no issues with this in over a year and 25k miles of usage, I don’t get on very well with compass mode so never use it! Have also used GPX for green lanes with no signal and it’s been awesome 😁
@@HenryCrew35 not in my experience, the problem is if I am out in the countryside and decide to pull over to the side for a break etc it will completely lose track of where I was/where I was going and start giving me completely random and incorrect directions when I continue, leading me in circles or telling me to go straight through fields. Even when I did manage to get somewhere that had signal, it still couldn't sort itself.
Great video but just remember riding like that on unknown roads with crazy sheep and tractor crap bring you one step closer to another statistic. Stay safe mate.
Looked like a great trip! I have the same bike and was considering a similar luggage setup. Are you able to share the details of what that duffel bag and straps you use are?
Hey! It’s a Colfax design TOAD duffel, I’m not sure they’re currently available as they’re normally small batch / sell out. I attach everything using rok straps which I think are awesome & use with everything!
Thanks for the vid - hope to do it myself before the end of the year. Not sure if its me, but therebseems to be a problem with the GPX files. All but one of them are the same (Manchester to Forest of Bowland). Would be great if you could upload the others.
dvisor thanks for letting me know! It seems there must have been an issue with the creation of the files! I’ll re do them and let you know when they’re done :)
I’ve just finished recreating the files and have uploaded them to the same link! They’re all named by start/end location now too to make things a bit clearer!
It’s a DJI spark - it was the smallest / cheapest they made at one point but now they make higher quality ones that are the same size or smaller! Not sure on the price though!
Hey Henry, just wondering, how waterproof is the Belstaff jacket? I notice you only threw on waterproof trousers and gloves, so I guess you would rate the jacket quite highly?
Yeh it’s pretty good, the only place I had water get through is the zip (as the flaps that cover it aren’t that great) and the bottom of the jacket as there wasn’t enough overlap with my waterproof trousers but that was in a day of torrential rain in Scotland, I would say for the most part you’ll be fine - just keep a throw over handy on long trips where you might spend a day in heavy rain!
Been thinking about a beeline for a while, looks like an ideal little tool but does it ever let you down? is it difficult to see in rain/darkness? great vids! just found your channel from listening to TeaPot's podcast
Thanks Niall! I had some Bluetooth issues with an old phone (iPhone 6) but it’s been pretty faultless apart from user error of switching it to bicycle mode by accident 😂 it has a backlight for riding at night which comes on at sunset or can be turned on manually. I don’t have an issue in the rain, I ride off-road in rain and mud etc and never had an issue! Hope you liked the podcast!
@Henry Crew cheers for the reply Henry, it seems like a good bit of kit 👍 Yes I love that podcast, got me through my daily covid walk Looking forward to seeing your idea of touring in a truck with the bike on the back! ...motogeo style maybe? 🤔 love the content, keep it up!
Loved this video , it’s nice to see some of my local roads as well ( Peak District 😊) I’ve subbed , can I ask which music platform do you use , as I’ve been looking for music just like this for my videos 😊
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and lucky you with that on your doorstep! If you head to the ‘creator studio’ on UA-cam and then click music it’ll show you all the royalty free music on UA-cam which you can download for free 😁
Thanks! It’s a Belstaff McGee 2.0 - I was really impressed, this was the first time I used it and I was nervous about taking it to Scotland but it was comfortable and functional. The waterproofing worked well and I only got slightly wet through the neck and at the waist after a torrential day on the bike which is to be expected from any jacket after 8 hrs riding.
Hi Evan, Sorry I missed this comment! It wasn't really a priority for me at the time - I focussed mainly on day to day documentation on social media - all those daily stories are saved as highlights on my IG page if you want to check them out. It's a whole lot of work to do video justice and as I was also trying to break the record etc and on my own I don't think it would have been possible. I'll definitely be doing more adventures specifically with the intention of filming in the future - I think you really have to build the trip around it.
GPS yes but internet no - the maps can be cached offline prior to the trip, the only part you need internet for is plotting a route but after that just GPS.

Amazing route. Many thanks for sharing!

Good stuff Henry, some brilliant footage of some cracking looking roads. Highland Scramble looks amazing. Cheers
Andy Lee it really is a cracking long weekend and the journey up there was great too!
Awesome video mate.
Great video Henry! You captured the adventure really well!
Andrew Harrison thanks bud!
Good watch, did the scot500 with my 11yo daughter last year on a 45bhp xt660z... Not fast but great times, the views will stay with us forever.
Definitely! One of my favourite moto memories.
Top tier content. I did the NC500 last year in mid July and yep- rained every day. Ha!

Thomas Hansen thanks mate!
I did the Peak District/lakes for 4 days in August. Some truly awesome roads. Still hoping to do Scotland this year.
Awesome! I would love to go back and spend more time in the peaks and lakes - maybe with my DRZ. I hope you can make that happen!
Henry Crew fingers crossed 🤞
