      If that were my mom and I was missing for 2 days at a friends house and no one was answering the phones. Besides a friend who was giving different stories. The cops get calls every day to do home checks. We can’t legally enter the house. They didn’t have reasonable suspicion. The issue isn’t with the cops but the rules we must follow.
      The video is wrong at least in mass. We cannot enter a home on a welfare check unless allowed. And as far as qualified immunity that is only in civil cases. Doesn’t stop a cop getting fired or arrested

      From what I've seen, it's bad parenting that causes kids to rebel. Sometimes they rebel by listening to music their parents don't like and dressing in ways their parents don't like. That's why that type of music/scene attracts them. But it's the fault of bad parenting, not the music. Same with anti police and anti government groups. They're the result of bad policing and bad governing, causing ppl affected by it to start and join those groups.

      @glamdolly30 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, lots of good info. I think it's very interesting his dad threw his mom out of the family home. That suggests his dad was abusive and possibly misogynistic.
      If he witnessed his father physically and verbally abusing his mother from childhood, it could shed some light on his violence to the three females in the house. Males who abuse female partners frequently had a father who was a domestic abuser, and grew up being influenced by him and disrespecting women as a result.
      Big Incel vibes from the killer. He was obviously enraged that Emma didn't find him attractive (huge arrogance he ever assumed she would - he was punching well above his weight and should have known it), and angry and humiliated that her friend and mother knew she'd given him the brush off.
      Males who abuse/kill females can't handle rejection. The chance of a woman being killed by her abusive partner rockets, as soon as she leaves him or even mentions she might leave him. This guy was surely a ticking time bomb. The fact he was 20 and pursuing an online relationship with a 16 year old girl he'd never met, speaks volumes about him. It's doubtful he'd ever had a serious relationship, so was pinning all his hopes on this 'virtual' girlfriend. Chances are he would always kill a woman when she rejected him.

      @nerdkartoffl9019 2 роки тому +42

      Thats one way to see it.
      My take on him was more like:
      His Voice was shacking. He was so full of adrenaline and most likely couldn't even comprehend what he really did.
      He broke in this moment. Like everything before is gone, he can never go back. After that, he went numb emotionaly. He knew, nothing he says is changing what he did and he knew he will get caught sooner or later, so he did what he wanted till this moment. And it's possible, that you get so shocked, you go emotionaly numb.
      His reason was most likely:
      he was so full of hate and abuse (he was abused by somebody in school or family) and wanted to escape. His escape was with this girl.
      But she didn't want him and he was "stuck" (in his mind at least) at their place. They most likely abused (verbaly) him. He couldn't flee from there and at some point he was so fed up with everything, that he couldn't handle it anymore (like one drop of water spills the glass). He NEEDED this to stop. They didn't stop till it was to late and he killed them.
      (than the video happened)
      Either the parents heard this and tryed to stop him or he waited for them to not get "discovered" sooner. Either way, they need to go.
      I dont try to defend him or anything. There is no reason to kill another human unless he killed first (i'm for the death sentence).
      You can say, he was an asshole for his last few free days, but before, he was a sad and helpless kid who only wanted someone else.

How were officers able to navigate through the house without seeing any of the bloodshed and why on earth would he even makeup the dog/noise in the basement story? The officer at the scene of the car crash didn't notice anything amiss? It's 4:00 am and most likely very dark out so id imagine the officer would have had his flashlight on the kid at some point. @@ms.doomer5623 down my street 5 years ago there was an RV parked at the end of the road for 3 days, it was an undercover police surveillance lab watching every move my neighbor made. They busted him with 2 plants. The police said they got a tip of a drug house that smelled of marijuana. He was growing for personal use with a valid medical card! His ex turned him in and side he was a major player on the west coast, they believed her, with absolutely no evidence but were able to stake out his house for 72 hours and got a search warrant when the sniffer dogs alerted to the smell of drugs coming from his shed. This operation cost tax payers $70,000.
      It shows where the priorities of the police department actual start and end.

    I can't wrap my mind around the fact that her parents allowed their 16 year old daughter to carry on with a 20 year old stranger from across the country and facilitated the transition from the two being vague online acquaintances to him potentially becoming a more concrete/real influence in their daughters life IRL. Especially considering that her parents were only indulging Emma's interest in horror core and such in an attempt to ensure that at least she was safe throughout her rebellious forays. But in what universe does inviting a 20 year old strange man with obviously dark and bizarre interests to fly across the country and practically take up roost in your 16 year old daughters bedroom sound even remotely like an exercise in safety or harm reduction/damage control?

    They were very negligent.
    I've experienced a wellness check from a new friend - who wasn't quite accustomed to my depression-related mood swings - who overreacted. There were three or four cops who came through my door and searched around my home. One of them made me call my mother and then snatched the phone once she got on the line, and walked out to speak with her.
    So of course I don't understand the severe lack of police response in this story, because they were pretty thorough with me!

Like even Melanie’s mom was concerned they “dropped off the face of the earth” to later know they were dead inside that house and no one except Melanie’s mom was so very concerned is sad as well.
