I have to admit that the placing of the painting is an excellent metaphor for this year. It's subtlety makes it even better because it highlights the contrast between the events of 2020 which were big and scary and our (social) lives that were 'quiet' and nothing really happened. You're a genius, wow.
Literally, i watched this one movie called red shoes and the seven dwarves with my little sister and woah it was amazing like the main girl was really comfortable and happy with being chubby and I was like YES this is how you handle a character, it was so natural and I loved it

my worst book was Throne of Glass and I didn't even finish lol. i wanted to read it so i could understand the memes (I read acotar so I wasn't expecting much from sjm) but it was so. annoying (?) to get through. both MC was just the epitome of "I'm not like other girls" and celaena was so infuriating ://///
I forced my way through the first three Novellas of a collection and that took me over six hours. I actually got through the first ACOTAR in less than six hours and I had to put that book down five or eight times because it was breaking my mind with prose. And my mind played fiddle memes at the three times a fiddle was mentioned
The only character I liked in those books was Manon but even she was lacking in actual characterisation. Also, Celaena/Aelin seemed like a bad Daenerys Targaryen clone.

Speaking as a middle child, the middle sister providing the older sister with the obvious solution, realizing that she’s gonna keep up the drama for petty reasons, then just noping out of that entire situation was peak representation. Sometimes people are just deadset on pointless drama and you just have to know when to cut your losses before they try and drag you into their bs.

my jaw was on the floor the longer your description of serpent and dove went on oh my GOD, i totally would've fallen victim to it if bookstores were around this year bc i love the cover. the big tiddy liddy song...... lord. i love how you turned it around in the end though because it's so true!!
my worst book was Throne of Glass and I didn't even finish lol. i wanted to read it so i could understand the memes (I read acotar so I wasn't expecting much from sjm) but it was so. annoying (?) to get through. both MC was just the epitome of "I'm not like other girls" and celaena was so infuriating ://///
I forced my way through the first three Novellas of a collection and that took me over six hours.
I actually got through the first ACOTAR in less than six hours and I had to put that book down five or eight times because it was breaking my mind with prose. And my mind played fiddle memes at the three times a fiddle was mentioned
The only character I liked in those books was Manon but even she was lacking in actual characterisation. Also, Celaena/Aelin seemed like a bad Daenerys Targaryen clone.
Same though. I can not stand her because of her NLtOG attitude and the constant "she could have killed them, but she didn't..."
@@CalKale this!!!! She's always like "oh I'm a better assassin than them, I could kill them all in a heartbeat" and then doesn't do great on the trials (at least the first couple of training?idk I didn't finish). She keeps on saying she's this skilled assassin but we don't see her do anything tbh
@@sallypark9139 it's basically just a deep back story for the most part. I'm at half way and there STILL isn't anything. I don't get why the king didn't kill her, tbh. If she's such a threat and feared, she should have been executed. Suffering? Oh, yeah, now she's in your castle plotting your death (I'm assuming).
I love that even without reading or knowing any prior knowledge of Serpent and Dove I was able to easily grasp the entire plot w/ your odd description because it’s exactly the same way I describe book plots
