Challenge Captain Shania led 11-members of her running club on a triumphant 15-hour Race Across the State of New Hampshire, raising $1,436 to support Covid-relief through @New Hampshire Charitable Foundation - a powerful testament to the power of perseverance, collaboration, and community! 👟✨
"I have personally experienced the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately for me, outside support systems have helped my family in recovering from these effects. Having witnessed the toll COVID wreaked on my own community back home, I deeply understand the challenges disadvantaged communities are experiencing in other parts of the country. From rising mental health crises, to growing rates of drug abuse and homelessness, I see the great need for community intervention. Local level work is key to providing the help so many people are in need of, which is why I particularly appreciate an organization like New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
Having accomplished the goals I originally set out to achieve in this Challenge, I now feel a lot more empowered and confident in my leadership abilities, and organizational skills.
My advice to future change-makers is to take every step of the change-making process one day at a time - you are bound to run into to challenges, what matters however is not so much how much or why they appear, but rather how you respond to these challenges."
