  • 18 COVID Autopsies - This is what they found in the Brain 😱
If you've seen my previous videos on autopsies done on COVID patients, it's pretty clear by now that when patients die of this covid, it's because of the lungs. The lungs' inflammation, pneumonia, and cytokine storm and ARDS, sometimes with multiorgan failure or the major blood clot, develop in the lungs. Sometimes though, blood clots show up in other parts of the body.
For example, clots can travel to the Brain and lodge in the blood vessels there, causing decreased blood flow to specific brain regions, known as a stroke.

    00:00 - Introduction
    00:40 - 18 COVID Autopsies Study
07:30 - Why People Die for COVID
But this virus, in a different manner, can cause neurologic symptoms in some people, such as headache, confusion, and anosmia, meaning loss of taste and smell. But we don't really know why this covid sometimes causes these symptoms. Is it because the covid travels in the bloodstream to the Brain? Maybe. After all, there are ACE2 receptors that are located in the Brain. Is it because the virus got in our nose and used the olfactory nerves that are there to gain entry into our Brain? Or are these symptoms more related to the cytokine storm's effect, which is actually pretty familiar with infections in general, whether from pneumonia or something else? A recent study in NEJM looked at brain findings from autopsies done on 18 patients who died from COVID in a single teaching hospital. All 18 patients had nasopharyngeal swab samples that were positive for SARS-CoV-2 on RT-PCR.
11 COVID patients required mechanical ventilation, meaning a breathing tube. Interestingly, it was noted that all of the ventilated patients had a confusional state or decreased arousal from sedation for ventilation. I interpreted this because when they paused the sedation, meaning they temporarily stopped the sedation to assess their mental status, the patient could follow commands during that time. In general, this is not uncommon, but this does seem to occur more often with COVID patients, which I've been finding with my COVID patients in the ICU.
On average, these COVID patients died about 10 days after being admitted to the hospital.
When they did the autopsies, they looked at the Brain as a whole, and they also sampled 10 different areas of the Brain and then looked at those samples underneath the microscope. Microscopic examination showed acute hypoxic injury in some regions of the Brain. Acute hypoxic injury means tissue was damaged due to not getting enough Oxygen. For example, an acute hypoxic injury in the cerebrum is the Brain's part that allows us to think and be conscious. There was also an acute hypoxic injury in the cerebellum in all the patients. There were no blood clots in the Brain or vasculitis, meaning inflammation of blood vessels. Another thing we want to know is, is the virus actually invading the cells of the Brain? This study actually tested the brain tissue for the virus with RT-PCR.

Following a small Christmas family celebration (Dec 2020) My 83 year old relative was driving home and on the way he experienced confusion and had to pull over. His wife was extremely concerned because she had never seen her husband not be in total control and he had not had any alcoholic drinks/drugs that could explain his fast growing mental confusion. The wife took over the wheel and drove her husband to the emergency room and the couple was given covid tests and both were positive. Due to lack of space in the hospital, the couple was told to go home and take it easy because there was no space available to care for them at the hospital (Orange County, Ca.). Now approximately 15 days later, the man was placed in longterm memory assisted healthcare facility because he lost all control over his life...not even understanding what a toilet is for and peeing himself, etc. This man lived a clean life, was of normal weight/health and had never experienced mental facility loss before....AND he felt completely fine before and during the get together.

Not even close. The areas hit by ebola outbreaks are horror movies. With a mortality rate of up to 90% but averaging only 50%, it is fortunately only spread by bodily fluids. Unfortunately, victims leak bodily fluids from virtually the entire surface of their bodies. Still too far from home? Talk to a combat veteran, if he will talk about it, to understand what war is like. What we are experiencing in the US now is a shadow of what people in Caracas have lived with for years.
We are living our lives. These are the jokes, folks, so we might as well laugh. This time is not in the ten worst things that have happened to me, maybe in the top hundred but I doubt it. If I catch it, at age 67, I won't like it but I very much doubt it will be in the top ten worst things, even if it slowly chokes me to death. Life is like that.

@@flagmichael I am 68 yo. I have survived many things that had I been born just 100 years earlier would have been certain death. Starting from the time I was 12 when I was acutely ill with tonsillitis. Many other skirts with death but I consider every day since then is grace. Most recent round of life-threatening brushes was Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I didn't initially seek treatment because I thought it was the flu. Terrible headache, high temps, fatigue, intermittent leg weakness, nystagmus. Though recovered, I still have bouts of overwhelming fatigue, leg weakness and the same headache returns....and the high temps return. I used to joke that if my temp ever reached 98 I was dying, now it never drops to 98...lol. I was curious, with my recurrent neurologic issues, what he would find on these autopsies. Didn't answer any of my questions about my personal history. Sorry, I got carried away with stories of myself.

They questioned my daughter as well once she got there. It started suddenly with severe abdominal pain, vomiting that didn't stop, then a sudden sweat and I mean went from dry to dripping wet like I'd just stepped out of the shower in seconds. Once they stopped the vomiting, the bloody diarrhea hit. My abdomen was also filled with fluid. It was like my body said, all fluid out now! Listed in critical condition and spent four days in hospital on two types of IV antibiotics and fluids round the clock. Another week on oral antibiotics. Took 6 weeks to recover. I had the cocksackie virus around 20 years ago. Doctors told me I had ME. Lost my balance had palpitations loss of appetite fatigue and brain fog all the time . It took me two years to get back to complete normal health. I decided to see a homeopath doctor and took tables that he gave me depending on how I was feeling each visit. Thank you for being a credible, knowledge based Doctor. I have much respect for the medical field and I'm happy to say just mentioning this was noticed and appreciated. Without much detail, I know the when it' says on a tombstone the person perished of an infection. I just know 'You' have saved my life twice. The first time I was told the infection was found in my blood an I needed to get to surgery pronto. Just the way the Doctor said it showed empathy and caring. One hour to figure it out and not more than one to wheel me up to the operating room. I remember I inhaled deeply and I was comfortably and safely out for the Surgeon to focus. Thank You.

Positioning for that exam would be horrible for anyone beginning shock and intubation and confusion. I cannot get over how BAD this total syndrome is for anyone with premorbid conditions mentioned. To lessen suffering is so key. Having a Living Will and directions to families -done ahead of time -seems very important.

It's funny but sad how i used to stand out as a germophobe, now everybody acts just like me, I knew these very contagious flues+colds were suspicious, and people from Asia have been wearing masks for well over a year, Don't believe the media, this is even worse than it seems. Or if they were alcohol consumers, et al... When these autopsies/tests were done, was the patient's lifestyle figured into their physical reactions/symptoms for the purposes of science? It absolutely plays a part in health.

I had Covid-19 in Sept 2019 and I had all the symptoms including having difficulty breathing but I thought maybe I had pneumonia. I went to the hospital, got sent to a room, waited, and finally the doctor came in and checked me. He left and a nurse came in and drew some blood. After a wait he came back and sent me home with a prescription for antibiotics and a letter for work. He said they will contact me for the results within the week. 4 days past and they called me and told me that I had no signs for cancer and such, but that I didn't have any virus either and just suggested to rest and take my antibiotics until I was better. So, for 3 weeks (the first week was hell) I was bedridden and the only time I got up was to go to the washroom, or to make some soup, or to get a drink of water. Soups get old fast but I was too ill to cook anything or go out and get something. I don't order delivery either because to me it's an extra expense. By week 3 I was starting to get much better and the feeling of not being able to fully get a breath of air was finally starting to fade away. When I finally got back to work I found out that almost all of my colleagues were sick and absent at the same time that I was. We all talked about our ordeal, compared our symptoms which were all pretty much bang on, and wondered what we had. Now, we all believe that we had Covid-19 and survived it and our ages ranged between 30 and 60 years old.

Thanks Dr H. Heading back to the hospital tomorrow. We are seeing a surge here in Houston. I would say it’s getting to critical levels. I’m feeling very nervous about it.

Excellent breakdown of the effects of this illness. I feel like my brain grew a little compared with the feeling of shrinkage whenever I watch Covid being covered on television.

My friend's children experienced no taste no smell. She experienced the cough, diarrhea, fever, body aches, and headache. I was first suspicious of flu shot, but her grandchild may have gotten it as well. Awaiting test results for the child. It is real, but it seems to affect people differently. Another friend who got it already had health issues. He survived, but suffers from fatigue and blood clots. His wife got it, but was asymptomatic. My aunt died in a nursing home diagnosed as Covid. She kept complaining about shortness of breath. What they all had in common was they were former smokers. My son works on Medivac plane. It is a real virus, but maybe not on the scale they are reporting. I also believe ventilators are dangerous if not done correctly...only CPAP...oxygen should be used.

I cant understand the mindset in the U S A, the numbers are going up and up, but for some strange reason people seem to think its not that bad, my friend was 43, was in good health but got coronvirus and died in 2 weeks, here in the UK doctors are now finding people who where in hospital with covid-19 and now have long team lung damage, this virus is spreading fast, 9 million cases now around the world, what will it take to make people to grow up?

It may be OK to some of them because they don't have it yet. So let's wait until they have it esp. severely, critically. And they will find it out for themselves that it's not yet OK.

It's because the media sends mixed signals, as do our "experts". When nobody can agree on policy and what is accurate science -- or what is even based in science at all -- is it any wonder why nothing gets done about it? FFS, 6 feet apart is NOT rooted in science and yet it's taken as gospel. They told us not to wear ANY masks back in January, February and even into March. Not even our own homemade ones, which are now somehow okay (even though they won't stop virus particulates from permeating the material and spreading anyway).
Then, we have the Hydroxychloroquine debacle. A respected journal known as the Lancet had to retract the findings that HCQ caused higher death rates because the 'research" was bogus and politically motivated. The media ran with it, and yet when the retraction happened, it was barely a blip on the MSM radar; quietly shuffling it under the rug). Even science and medicine has been politicized now.

Hang on, you say healthy but was he really? Was he over weight, did he have sufficient vitamin D levels, what was his A1c? Point is very few people who are 40 and up are really healthy. It’s like the 16 year old who was featured on cnn as “a healthy 16 year old” who died from covid, looking at his photo, he was clearly obese...

Look it’s bad. The numbers in the end will tell the story. We should have 0 deaths. However, this virus got out. So it is what it is. I don’t think it will be as bad as some of my science colleagues think. Look, if you had a love one die it’s always bad. I’m speaking form a health and science stand point. They have been wrong on the model from the beginning. So here is is my question. What are you going to do? Stay in your house forever? Do you know there has never been a good or even a Corona virus Immunization that has worked? Or an RNA virus Immunization. They fact is most healthy people survive this. If showing any symptoms at all. Most people that die from this you can’t say with a 100% it’s the virus. We are talking about most people with CAD, HTN, DM. Obesity, bad inflammatory Dz as well as oxidative stress that these people live in. Has a young healthy person die from this? Yes. I had a college football player patient die from influenza A. Due to a Viral induced Cardiomyopathy. This kid was a top notch athlete. And died from the flu. You want to watch a dashboard of teenage car crash deaths?! It will blow your mind. So please if some people on this comment section want to debate I will be happy to. Just don’t shoot your mouths off and bring no facts.
