Good size shop Matt, it looks like you've have used every inch of space in there, that's the type of shop I would have , if I had the space, a real working shop, I have seen a few of your videos ,what I like the most about them is, you get to the point and stay focused, you don't ramble or over explain everything which make them interesting to watch.keep it up Matt.
I love the look at around 5:20, “yea, I got a lotta wood.” You’re face, almost admits you have a problem...love it. And awesome shop. I love that you are able to do what you do with the space that most of us have.
You're first bench, was exactly like mine, and I did the same thing, I just put crap on top of crap. That's why I installed my cabinets to eliminate that, and it did. You'll like the base cabinets and drawers. Awesome shop, you need more room like all of us!
Lance's Woodshop & Adventures I can't wait to get started on them. They're really going to clean things up. I hate having stuff out everywhere. Thanks Lance!
"The start of what you'll see is a scrap problem". Lol! What a nice set up Matt, it's no wonder you produce quality work pieces. I'm envious of the set up. Great video, very in depth. Thanks for the tour!,
Holy Splinter Soars Batman! POW! Bam! Kazowee! Glad I don't live closer or I would be bankrupt buying some of your wood! Even though you have some scraps laying around (who doesn't), it seems we are not only the same height but organize our work space very similar. Well, somewhat since I don't have even a quarter of what you do in tools and machines. I must admit, that was the best shop tour I have seen (and I've seen hundreds). The walk through and explanation of the four sections along with the accessories and expendables being near the tools that use them was so cohesive. Anyway, thank you very much for the "Full tour" covering inside, outside and below! Yes I am envious, who wouldn't be?
I really enjoyed the shop series, it was fun to see the whole history of how it evolved. Wish I would have taken video or even pictures as I was setting mine up.
Matthew Cremona I brought a few sheets of plywood in the kitchen to store whilst my storage shed was being improved (insulating and lining the walls etc). The plywood was out of the way propped up against the wall but still it was only 1 week before my wife insisted that I move it. So now I am having to finish working on my 10x8 shed with all that plywood getting in my way! You are definitely lucky to have a tolerant wife.
WOW!! I thought I was out of room in my 21x24 garage shop. Fantastic video again Matt. Really enjoyed a look inside your woodworking life. Gave me a bunch of ideas for the "new" layout we all go thru from time to time
Wow Mat, you have a great shop and such great tools! I'm not envious at all. Cripes, so much wood! Congratulations on having such a great wife to let you have alllll those toys. good job.
Great tour Matt! I love that stockpile of lumber in your outside shed. One of the largest obstacles I have here in Florida is locating hardwood lumber (maple-cherry-walnut) for my projects. I wish I lived closer to you - - would definitely relieve you of some of that beautiful cured hardwood!!! Got some good ideas from this vid - - THANKS! You narrate/explain everything so well!
Just now subscribed to your site after watching you with Bob on "I like to Make Stuff". Love your stock pile of lumber and your shop. Hope to watch many more of your videos. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the tour Matt, you inspired me set up my own shop in my garage. I have a 20ft x 20ft garage, with proper planning I think I could make it work like you have. Great videos....keep up the great work!
Sanjay Patel Thanks Sanjay! I didn't spend a whole lot of time planning out the layout but I think I nailed the overall layout. I have things grouped well for my workflow. I think that's more important than spending a lot of time trying to figure out the details. It's much better to figure out how those should be once you get into the space and start working. Good luck!
It's tough to decide whether I like your shop better or the wood shed! Great shop tour Matt, very thorough on showing all the bits and pieces and how it's set up. I love the jigsaw breakdown station too, very easy to cut and move on.
I think they're both equally full of stuff. Thanks Zac! I'm going to start calling it "The Breakdown Station" Cutting lumber while dancing. Should be fun!
Great shop tour Matt! I see no scrap problems, just opportunities :) Your planer is sweet! Its always interesting to see how other people have their setups.
Thanks for the tour Matt, I always find it interesting to see other people's shops; perhaps most woodworkers are shop voyeurs. Good grief it looks cold there! Once again, move south young man!! Your tour filled me with lumber lust and left me with a bad case of wood envy (as well as tool envy). You are doing a great job with your videos; keep up the good work and thanks for posting.
Thanks Gary! I too enjoy seeing how others have their shops set up. I always seem to pick up something that I can apply to my own shop. Spring will be here soon. I hope :)
I really enjoyed this tour of your shop Matt thanks for doing it. lots of ideas for when I have a bigger shop. jumbo radial saw at 16:50 cracked me up. also, I dont think you have enough wood eh
Can't believe I have missed you all this time. Glad I got introduced to you the other night. Btw... Your presentation skills have improved immensely. You do a great job. Nice shop by the way.
Its crazy how you picture what you think someones layout looks like and then be totally wrong when it's all laid out on camera for you. You do really good work Matt. Can't imagine what another 10 or 15 years will bring you. My pocket hole jig is about as large as your dovetail jig lol
Jay Bates Thank you Jay! I think it's even more different when you see it in person. I had watched Dema's shop tour and when I stopped by his shop for the first time I still felt out of place. lol that is a big pocket hole jig :)
Enjoyed your shop video, I too have a problem with space in my shop.........spend too much time moving and setting up equipment. Hopefully in the future I can expand my working space........I also use my basement to dry wood before processing..........I live in Maine, I didn't catch where you are located......
Congratulations on your shop Matt. I was full of envy by wood you got, the reason is that I have difficulty finding wood here, only a "Home Depot" type store for plywood, and hardwood is only sold to the cubic meter with minimum of 2 M3, and that cost a lot of money.
And over here in the dog house I keep some more bowl blanks, and behind the dog house I keep the backup chain saw for when a neighbor wants to borrow one and I don't want to let them have any of the five good ones. Oh and up this tree that's where I keep all the pine lumber because what else would you put up there?
Love your work shop. Gee I love wood too. I can't wait to have a real shop when I move. The shed I was using did not have heat so I couldn't use it for almost 6 months during the year.
Great series Matt, it was fun to see young babyface Matt:)! It would be nice to see some more old footage like those! Great shop evolution, you made increadible progress in a relatively short period of time.
Thanks Tamás! I have a lot of old footage. A lot more than I thought I did so I'll probably be incorporating that older footage into videos in the future. I did a whole build series on the hall table I showed so maybe I'll have to try to edit that and release it. It progressed quickly. Woodworking became an obsession :)
Wonderful shop tour! I appreciate your level of detail. I am incredibly jealous of your lumber capabilities. The fact that you harvest it all yourself makes me green with envy. That kind of stuff is unheard of (and in many cases impossible) here in California. I can't wait to move back to the northwest! I wish that I could purchase some of your lumber. I lead a group of Viking era reenactors and we're always looking pining for white oak and ash. Have you ever attempted quartersawing lumber? Perhaps going old school and doing some hand hewing? Thanks again for the tour. I'm really looking forward to your next projects!
Michael Howell Thank you Michael! I haven't tried straight quarter sawing. I tend to just plain saw everything and that way you get some of each kind of cut. Hand hewing would be fun and is something I'd like to try some day. Thanks again!
It must be nice to be in a place that has all those trees available. We don't have it here in California, but then again, we don't have the snow either.
Mat Very nice shop If you ever build that freestanding shop pour hydroponic heat tubes into the slab Use a water hearer as a boiler and set a thermostat to 50 deg With that white stuff on the ground you would not believe the difference having a partially warm floor makes. A lot of farmers in the Midwest use it as a way to help heat their shops. Also build with 6" walls the extra insulation and strength make a big difference.
Thankyou very much for letting us in to your wood world.... I am going to build my shop out of a 30' x40' addition to my garage and I have similar size tools that you have but are spread out into to room one 19 steps above the other one... How big is your shop???
Nice shop Matthew! I should do one at some point, might need to do a bit of tidying up first. Very jealous of your set up. I'm interested in how you custom mill up your lumber for sale. Would it be possible to do a video showing the process of felling the tree, slabbing, drying, then milling into useful boards and timber? I'd love to see your process. Thanks for sharing. Like most people here I check every day to see if you've posted a new video.
I think I spent most of the day cleaning up my shop for this tour. It had never been cleaner! (and it didn't last long). What I'm hoping to do with the video showing the making of the secretary doors is show the whole process since I have footage of the tree all the way through construction of the doors. That should be a fun video. Thanks Andrew!
Matt ... my shop looks more like yours than it does Toolify's shop! Just watched his shop tour where you made a guest appearance. I wished mine looked more like his in the organized department! 🙄. Nice tour! I like the carbide bandsaw blades also. I have a Timberwolf 1" carbide blade and it is excellent for resawing.
Thanks for the tour Matt. I'd kill for that jointer, kind of glad I can't afford it as I have no room for one anyway. I dream of a big open shop like Frank Howarth's, how cool would it be to have space to actually do something without having to move everything else to get at anything and then that is in the way for the next step.
You have a great set up and it doesn't like you will have a shortage of wood for a while :-) My biggest problem in my shop is the cut offs. I really hate to get rid of them because I always end up needed something. And since most are exotic woods I like to get my moneys worth out of them :-) That doesn't seem to be a problem since I just picked up a second mini lathe and am doing a lot of small turnings. Thanks for the tour. I look forward to your videos.
Jim Coogan I'm running out of places to put it! Small turnings are a great way to get rid of some scraps. I'd be overrun if I didn't make cutting boards. Thanks as always, Jim!
bazza866 The slabs are stack in the European style. That allows the rain to roll off since the top acts as a roof. I don't worry about the bowl blanks because they are still in log form. Thanks!
Thank you for your response. How did you obtain all the machinery and tools, money wise, if you don't mind me asking... I mean everything, how did you get it? :)
Great tour, Matt! I have to ask.... Is that a wooden bicycle seat on top of your dovetail jig? Couldn't think what else it would be. It sure is a lot of wood, and thick! It's easy to get 4/4 stuff, but rare to see 12 and 16/4!! Your shed looks bigger on the inside. Oh yeah, and that's not that large a DC, but some really long runs of pipe. And it works well? thanks again.
wordsnwood Thanks Art! yes! it is! good eye :) The shed is about 120sqft. With the dormers it looks really big on the inside. There is a lot of height. The DC works well when the filter is clean. Once it starts getting clogged the performance degrades rapidly but that's the disadvantage to all single stage units
Great stuff Matt, selling all that wood for sale almost makes me wish I did not buy my Go Pro. Almost but I really like it lol. Little baby hands, lol your killing me. That beam saw would take up half of my 95 square foot shop.
Have you ever considered renting out your shop (specifically the jointer) to other locals who don't have that kind of equipment yet? I'm also in MN (we met a Rockler once - go figure...) and have thought of setting up a Facebook page for MN woodworkers to create pointers as well as a classifieds for tool/shop sharing.
What I appreciate are your recommendations on your power tools. Too often I've bought klunkers that looked good at the time. Pros seem to know the klunkers and have to practically give them away on craigslist. Thanks for this video.
What do you do with all of your bowls? craft fairs, craigs list, etsy etc. I love turning bowls, but i have too many in my house and all of my family and friends have a few too!
lol I leave them rough turned. Whenever we need to bring a gift somewhere I either grab a cutting board or I grab a rough turned bowl and finish it. We're running out of friends and family to give them to
If your shop and my work in progress metal shop were neighbors we would be able to make some wicked projects, to bad that we are continents apart lol Well done matt nice shop and thanks for the detailed tour, also take control on your wood issues :p

The wood "problem" hasn't gotten any better 😄
@@mcremona sso, hey matt?

now you funny too . . .

"The start of what you'll see is a scrap problem". Lol!
What a nice set up Matt, it's no wonder you produce quality work pieces. I'm envious of the set up.
Great video, very in depth. Thanks for the tour!,
Thank you Paul! I've got some organizing to do and then I'll be even more productive!
Holy Splinter Soars Batman! POW! Bam! Kazowee! Glad I don't live closer or I would be bankrupt buying some of your wood! MRrwmac Thanks Mac! If you ever make the trip, you won't go home empty handed :)
Awesome tour. It's got a nice "this place gets used" feel to it. The wood collection is awesome.
Thanks! I have some more organizing to do but I think it will always have that feel to it. Super organized and sterile isn't really my thing.
Thank's for the tour Matt! Gave me a lot of ideas for my shop organisation.
I really enjoyed the shop series, it was fun to see the whole history of how it evolved. Wish I would have taken video or even pictures as I was setting mine up.
Thanks Andy! I wish I had taken more pictures but I'm glad I had some to share. I wish I would have taken some pictures of my first shop.
Your wood supply is crazy Matt! Thanks for sharing.
Geoff's Garage Workshop Thank you Geoff!
Your wife is a saint for letting you have all that wood in and around the house
I do love her quite a bit
Matthew Cremona I brought a few sheets of plywood in the kitchen to store whilst my storage shed was being improved (insulating and lining the walls etc). Wow, so much lumber! cool!

I love this! Have you considered doing an updated video? Im sure you've made some changes in the last 5 years.
Thanks for the tour and making humor from what we do....
Matthew Cremona Great tour and shop you have there Matt. I REALLY like your positive attitude, and your laughter is contagious. Keep up the good work
Bellevue Woodshop Thank you!!

Wow! Nice cache of hardwoods. You have a great set-up.

great walkthrough. you have a great place there and you seem to apreciate it, so it's nice to watch.

Joseph Muench haha! yeah basically! Thanks Joseph!!
Wow, great shop Matt, nice set up. Thanks for the tour.
J.D. Ransom Thanks for checking it out, J.D.!
Great shop tour Matt! I see no scrap problems, just opportunities :) Your planer is sweet! Its always interesting to see how other people have their setups.

awesome set up 3 great videos , looking forward to better dust collection in my own shop
Nice space with a lot going on!
Thanks!
Positively amazing good use of a small space.
Ed Waggoner Sr. Thank you Ed!
I really enjoyed this tour of your shop Matt thanks for doing it. lots of ideas for when I have a bigger shop. jumbo radial saw at 16:50 cracked me up. also, I dont think you have enough wood eh
Thank you Jorge! That saw is a lot of fun! And there is more wood out at the farm where we log :)
Awesome tour Matt, hell of a lumber collection you got!
Lane Bros WoodShop Thanks, glad you liked it! :)
What an awesome shop tour!
MrHollick Thank you!
Really cool setup. Thanks for the tour!
Thank you Jacob!
You are gonna be on hoarders...definitely jealous of your stockpile...Keep up the great work Matt...
Jim Rupert Now that would make a great episode! Thanks Jim!
Fantastic video. Really enjoyed this video. I have been wanting to cut my own lumber, and this video has inspired me to try this.
Gary Lucas Thank you! Cutting your own lumber is a lot of fun. You'll love it!
Can't believe I have missed you all this time. Glad I got introduced to you the other night. Btw... Your presentation skills have improved immensely. You do a great job. Nice shop by the way.
Kelly Burns Thank you Kelly! It was great meeting you as well :)
Awesome tour, I think the best on UA-cam. Sorry you don't have enough lumber to keep you busy for the next decade or two.
Thanks Michael! I think I'll be set on lumber for a little bit :)
Everyone needs a beam saw...
You just whiped that thing out like it was no big deal, lol
Great tour, thank for sharing!
Shop built lol That isn't a common shop tool? :) Thanks!
nice shop. I had to watch this video a second time. nice to have that lumber. my only options are pine, cedar, and oak in Alabama it seems
Its crazy how you picture what you think someones layout looks like and then be totally wrong when it's all laid out on camera for you. You do really good work Matt. Can't imagine what another 10 or 15 years will bring you.
My pocket hole jig is about as large as your dovetail jig lol
really impressed that you didn't drool all over his wood, Jay Bates ... We all feel sorry for the hardwood drought you live in!
Matt, my friend...you have a serious wood addiction problem. We should all be so lucky! Thanks for the shop tour! Really awesome!
Jay Bates Thank you Jay! I think it's even more different when you see it in person. I had watched Dema's shop tour and when I stopped by his shop for the first time I still felt out of place. lol that is a big pocket hole jig :)
Chris Williams Thank you Chris!

Jim Challender It's a r4511. I bought it in 2008
Hi could tell me more about the Lenox bandsaw blade you use the hook/Tpi /ect thanks Howie
1/2" 3tpi
Great shop tour. Looks like you have filled your shop with tools and need to get going on a free standing shop next to the shed.
Trust me, I've thought about it :) Thanks!
Am insanely jealous of your wood stash....and the Jointer!
***** Thanks Tyler! :)
Stash is ok, the jointer is amazing though
Jealous, I agree completely.

You do like and you're one of the few who have seen it in person
lol. VIP tour for sure
Good stuff Matt, always fun checking out someone shop. I'm saving this video... show it to my wife when she accuses me of having too much wood! lol
Thanks John! lol you're wife is going to love me...
Enjoyed your shop video, I too have a problem with space in my shop.........spend too much time moving and setting up equipment. Hopefully in the future I can expand my working space........I also use my basement to dry wood before processing..........I live in Maine, I didn't catch where you are located......
Gene G Thank you Gene! I am in Minnesota.

I was full of envy by wood you got, the reason is that I have difficulty finding wood here, only a "Home Depot" type store for plywood, and hardwood is only sold to the cubic meter with minimum of 2 M3, and that cost a lot of money.
Augusto Campos 2 cubic meters is a LOT of wood! On the bright side, if you bought one of those, you'd be set for a long time :) Thanks Augusto!
Matthew Cremona well 2 cubic meters of Americam oak is about 2900€ (~$3300), and mahogany is about 1300€ (~$1480) thats a LOT of money :D, Thankx
Augusto Campos
lol oh i know! I've bought quantities that size before :)
Nice shop. Looks like you need to get started on building some baby furniture now. Can't wait to see that :)
***** Thank you! I'll be starting on that soon :)
Just watched a few of your shop related videos, you've got a nice set up. Enjoyed the videos.
The Homestead Craftsman Thank you! I really enjoy your videos!
A well planed shop! As always, thanks’ for taking the time to make this video! ~M~
Mike A Drover Thank you!
Thanks Matt i enjoyed that i need to rethink my shop layout. Look like a beautiful area you live in we dont get to see snow where i am in Australia :)
OneWood - Warren Downes Thank you! I like the snow but I don't care so much for the cold. lol
And over here in the dog house I keep some more bowl blanks, and behind the dog house I keep the backup chain saw for when a neighbor wants to borrow one and I don't want to let them have any of the five good ones. Oh and up this tree that's where I keep all the pine lumber because what else would you put up there?
And over here under the pile of sawdust is my collection of spalted lumber :)

I dream of a big open shop like Frank Howarth's, how cool would it be to have space to actually do something without having to move everything else to get at anything and then that is in the way for the next step.
I like Frank's shop as well. I like the way it is laid out and I like the design of the structure as well! Thanks John!
Thanks as always, Jim!
and here was the shop tour. g8 vid again dude
DeleteTommy Thanks!
Great video, will leaving the slabs and bowl blanks out in the snow do any harm to them?
bazza866 The slabs are stack in the European style. That allows the rain to roll off since the top acts as a roof. I don't worry about the bowl blanks because they are still in log form. Thanks!
thanks for the answer!
bazza866 no problem!
Thank you for your response. How did you obtain all the machinery and tools, money wise, if you don't mind me asking... I mean everything, how did you get it? :)
I bought it all over a few years; some new, some used
Awesome shop... If I would live close to you, I'd sure stop buy for some of that wood ;-)
Robert Echten Thanks Robert. If you're ever in the area :)
That beam saw would take up half of my 95 square foot shop.
woodturningjohn Thank John! Those Go Pros are fun. I want one :) Little baby hands with the big beam saw lol
😂😂😂😂...
Enjoyed this video. What's that white stuff all over the ground?
El Rayo X Thanks! I have no idea... Some sort of toxic waste...
YEAH Grizzly! Got the same sander too. Very nice!
:) Good stuff!
OMW There is a lot of wood! the only thing that grows in South Africa is pine! You are so fortunate!!
:) Thanks!
Fast 30 minutes. You have a great shop.
Ted Alexander Thanks Ted! I was hoping it wouldn't feel too long.
Matthew Cremona
it didn't feel like 30 min.
Congratulations for you beautiful shop! How many square meters is your wood shop?
Thank you! It's 39 sq meters
Woww i'm so happy to hear this, because i stay for move in my new house where i stay prepare a new lab of 55 sq meters!
nice! That's a lot of space!
I love wood!. I think i have a problem. Are you too far North to have to deal with powder post beetles?
haha! It's a good problem. They don't seem to be as big of a problem here.
What I appreciate are your recommendations on your power tools. Too often I've bought klunkers that looked good at the time. Pros seem to know the klunkers and have to practically give them away on craigslist. Thanks for this video.
Complimenti per le tue idee ed i tuoi lavori veramente bravo-ma la domanda è COME FATE CON TUTTA QUELLA NEVE E QUEL FREDDO?
haha! I live with it. It will be gone eventually :)
ciao i amitalian woodworking ,your wood shop very nice
thank you!
We're running out of friends and family to give them to
is it good for the wood to be left out in the snow like that? and what if it rains? cool workshop!
warren buitandag It's not really an issue. The shape of the log allow the water to cascade off the edge. Thanks!
yeah makes sense, i suppose the the bark on some of them also adds an extra layer of protection. cool man thanks for replying!
warren buitandag It works surprisingly well :)
If your shop and my work in progress metal shop were neighbors we would be able to make some wicked projects, to bad that we are continents apart lol
Well done matt nice shop and thanks for the detailed tour, also take control on your wood issues :p
Ryan Degiorgio We would be unstoppable! Thank you! I think it's time for me to make some more cutting boards :)
You have a video on air cleaners?
Nice! Thanks!
Very Nice! I think you may want to build a bigger storage shed in the back, lol.
