I'm 37 years old last time I played, I was probably 16. My son (19months) picked up the ball yesterday and loved it. So glad I found your channel! Time to dust off the cobwebs, and oil the joints. Will be watching all of them 😁
Let me give you a piece of advice, if you love basketball, or even sports in general, I HIGHLY suggest volunteer coaching in your community. It is an AMAZING way to bond with your son/daughter and their friends and to be a positive role model in the community. I started as a volunteer coach 8 years ago when my son was 7, now I am a High School and Middle School coach. It was the best decision ever to begin coaching. Even at the lowest beginner level, you will find it to be so rewarding.
Omg this helped so much thanks, im binge watching basketball videos because dumb me said i would help our school with the basketball tournament tomorrow when i dont even know how to play it. Funnnnn ;-;
My son is an avid basketball player, thus I am trying to learn the sport so that I can know how to help him improve his game. What are some recommendations for training and workouts?
bro you are the best trainer for me and my teammates, but you would be the bestest if you would make a video about, HOW TO USE YOUR OFF HAND WITHOUT FAULING, WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO GET PAST DEFENDER.
I've been playing for 6 weeks training every Fridays and on Saturday matches today it was my first match and I was terrible bc I.was scared hopefully next week I'm better these videos help alot. Also my team lost 6-40 pretty bad we had less players we had 5 they had 15 so it was unfair we are beating our opponents next week.
Been watching your series trying to learn some tips. I always played pickup when i was younger but never learned fundamentals. My 7 year old son loves basketball and wants to play this season so I dont want to teach him my bad habits 😅 really appreciate it brother ✊

Thank you, sir, I find you very useful and a good teacher to beginners. I would get better at basketball if I keep on watching your videos. I'm also a person from Britain
I am a highschool junior and trying out for basketball in a month with no prior competitive experience. It is very late to start, but even if I don't get on the team I will know far more about the game by then.
Ok so, if I listened correctly :keep your pivot foot down, don't double dribble, Don't throw the ball in the air and catch it again (unless you're playing street basketball) You can only dribble once with both hands (not twice otherwise it counts as a double dribble?) Focus on your shooting hand side, And don't let your guide hand push the ball because your shooting hand does all the work
Hey can you make up or find us a work out using resistance bands or something to be able to deal with contact and hand checking or being pulled and pushed. You see doing dribbling drills is great but when I play the actual game and it’s physicality I tend to lose my dribble because of all the contact. Please help.
Hey coach Snake, I have varsity try outs on October 6 I wanted to ask u for advice on how to impress my coach because I can shoot, pass, rebound and play good defense but I'm not sure if that's enough to impress him. And do u think that I'll be able to make the team with my strengths that I just said?
Hey Coach Jesse, I've got a question about the double dribble. Sometimes, when me and my friends plays ball, we might tend to accidentally get the ball stuck between our body and hands when we do example a behind the back then after that we let it drop then continue dribbling again. My friends says that's a double dribble is it true? If u don't understand, it is like how u hold the ball at the end of ur video then after that continue dribbling. Thx in advance! :)
+Ernest Chen your friends are right. Picking the ball up in any way or pinning it against your body are basically the same thing according to the rules
Get Handles Basketball how about if u accidentally lose the ball but picks it up again from the ground is it a double? Or do u need to hit the ball to make it bounce then start dribbling again?
Thank you so much! I barely play basketball, your tips are wonderful and great specially your other vid on how you dribble like a pro thank you so much :)
Played basketball for 2 years leading up to middle school. In the 7th grade I blew out my knee. But recovered blessfully. My first time shooting a ball again was yesterday and my entire form was excruciating and completely messed up. Tryouts are in a couple weeks so why not start back from the basics
This helps a lot thank you I subscribe your channel and will be liking your video I have basketball tryouts soon and this really helped a lot again tux #scared. 😨😬😊 I'm sure I will make it though XD
So i am left handed My otger arm stays stuck to My side litterally. Its frozen. I suck at using it at anything and i really want to learn to play because i really like play basketball So any tips?
(R.I.P Kobe) I played soccer for 3 years (2017,2018 and 2019) it's 2020 and I'm starting basketball. My first game is on Friday and I don't even know my team!!! I haven't had a training session with them either! It's going to be a horror show for my mum watching😭
My question is if I'm running full speed, pick up the ball and take two steps can I then pivot? For example, if I pick up at the three point line get under the basket with my second step can I then pivot? I've never been called for it but I kinda think it might be illegal
I was playing football (soccer) whole my life. Its nice sport and i love it but i am feeling tht i love basketball more. I am starting from 0. I mean i know the rules and some stuff but i am bad and i need a lot of practice to learn tht basketball moves and dynamic. Wish me luck. :)
hey coach snake I see alot ( and i mean alot) of nba players where they often dribble with their hands clearly under the basketball but didnt get call for a carry. Is there any explanation for those?
They're way too quick to see everything they do. On TV and in the stands we can see them but it doesn't show just how fast and quick they actually are. And they're never moving just one or two body parts at one time, it's always more. I saw Dwayne Wade up close practicing and he was extremely fast when dribbling or moving his feet.
