Such a wise man!! I can see you genuinely have a positive attitude towards the life you have and that is a very smart thing. I learn something from you, Francois!! No wonder you have a beautiful smile~^^
I'm really enjoying your videos as of late. I actually find it quite refreshing to hear someone talk about the positive aspects of life in Korea. I first visited in 2012, probably the same time as you, and knew straight away I wanted to go back. I've been back 10 times since then.
I've lived here for 8 years myself, still really enjoy it and think it's a great place to live. I see the negativity but just ignore it; like you said, I don't see the point in always "also mentioning the negatives" when I can mention the positives and focus on those
That negativity definitely effects our spirits/minds/souls what have you. No use dwelling on it our talking about it. You are correct and thanks so much for watching:)
Hallo Francois, I would like to thank you for your content. I am half Korean, living in Korea. I love this country to my bones even though I do see many things critically. Your content is so pleasant, I love watching your videos because you sometimes even make me rethink parts I don’t appreciate. We need more positive people like you in this world. More mutual respect, more positivity. Thank you!
Hey Daniel, thanks so much for the support! Of course no place is perfect, but reporting on those things doesn't change anything. Why not just show the good stuff and the reasons why I am happy to live here? It's just my opinion...but thanks again for watching!:)
I’m in Korea right now and trying to find things to do by myself in Asan. I’m staying with friends but they sleep all day and don’t get out much except at night to out their baby to sleep and they don’t invite me much because of my back pain and I’m sure they want time with just them 3. Going out and doing stuff on my own is great but also very lonely!
Oh wow...what a situation? Have you tried to go on Facebook and find foreigner groups in your area? I'm sure there will be someone to go out with you ti have coffee and help you explore so you will not be lonely!:)
I'm glad you understood because I felt like it was getting away from me...I'm not the best with words hahaha But yeah, optimist indeed! No time to spend on negative things!
Hi Francois, I like your positive viewpoint on Korea, and from your videos I can see that you have a positive perspective on life in general, which is an admirable trait.
i would like to mention 눈치(taking a hint) culture in korea. building relationships with people in korea is not that simple. hard to make friends as much as easy to lose them, requires high level of political skill. individualism, collective mindset, bureaucratic systems and the confucian culture are all mixed. people here are superficially cold but also profoundly warm. you see the korean couples in k-drama taking a very long time to only grab their hands.
@@francoismarc3 Even if you are a Korean, difficult to make friends. You have to joined some kind of organization and spend sometime to get to know each other. Then you start to make friends.
Great content brother, I be sick and tired of the negative things people say about a lot of these countries, and why they say we can't succeed in them which to me that is total BS, all we got to do is be respectful learn the culture the language and get along with the people that's it everything is hand and dandy 😁. People love to see negative things so it gets views which is really sad here on UA-cam.
Say what you want about Pres. Yoon but opening up the Presidential Palace to the public was a great decision. Its a beautiful place. Edit: Korea is lucky to have you.
@@francoismarc3 Simply ignore and focus on your life's stability in South Korea with considerate people of South Korea and focus on your wellbeing and the God. Not everyone is privileged to have a career in South Korea like yourself even typical Westerners cannot stay long enough in South Korea without a stable job due to visa issues. Typical Westerners can come only to have temporary English teacher job and their visa expires. Did you get to go inside the Blue House? It’s pretty amazing. I think the President should move back, but still let the public walk around when the President is away. I agree with your logic about taking about negative things in Korea, what about funny things that happen in Korea. Every nation does something others find funny. For me I find it funny standing at a roundabout (rotary in Korea) and watching the drivers navigate it.
I went inside, but didn't explore as much as I wanted. I'll make a separate video about it:) And woah, funny things in Korea!!! That's a good idea I never thought of hahaha
True and I don't understand why. Traveling to another country to complain about it...so weird to me. But I guess what's weird to me is normal for some.
I mean, you don’t teach your aunt or any one on how to cook their meal when you are guest at the table. If you’re not cooking you should not comment on the food when at auntie’s house. Unless you come in and help her to cook. I don’t cook so I always praise the food as a guest. I mean if the foods bad 😅 which never happens at aunties place… If at a friend’s house … I won’t visit or eat there again.
Nobody ever says anything negative about South Korea because it’s the only country in the world that does things right and has the best quality of life in the world. It’s the only place in which a utopia actually exists. Everybody is happy there because of their success, healthy and strong culture. This explains why everybody in the world wants to move to Korea and I predict that Korean will be the dominant culture in about 50 years. Everybody will be speaking Korean by then.
That's kind of pushing it... there are a lot of bad things here. I love Korea, but (surprise surprise) it has its own flaws. Some of the systems in place are a complete mess
Your bosses, managers, colleagues, students etc. definitely have eyes on you, so why risk that being critical about anything, right? Who would want to risk their job? I heard it's illegal for public school teachers to even have a youtube channel in Korea. Best to keep it safe and positive, right? We all contribute to public knowledge and informational sharing in our own ways. Cheers
Exactly...people are always watching us whether we think so our not. I had to get permission from my school to have this channel and I understand why. They need to be sure this channel does not represent the school in any bad light. Thanks for sharing!
I hope Sam Okyere is still alive 😝. Honestly, what he did was nothing like Johnny Somali and shouldn't have been taken the wrong way. I'm a bit ancy traveling internationally these days with Trump in office as I was born a U.S. citizen abroad.
He's alive but not as active as before...Maybe his words weren't so insensitive, but foreigners should be careful with those who pay us. Oh, but you have a US passport, so you should be okay!:) Don't worry!!:)
You're a Black Man in South Korea, So I don't blame you for being a so-called "Propagandist". You need to "play your cards right" and you'll be treated well.
If you received a salary from a place that provided everything you needed to live, would you speak bad about that place?
No!

Who accuse of you a Korean propagandist, they are either Western world propagandist, or just jealous of South Korean people's lifestyle. Just ignore
