There are. many things to do in this wonderful country from ice skating, to hiking, and wonderful festivals! With long padded coat, fur cap, fur muffler and mask can feel warm in cold winter in korea.
You are absolutely correct!!
Boring is better than dangerous. So I’ll take it😂
No lies told lol
Travel to Tuvalu
Sounds like there really isn't a bad time to visit Seoul... Also doesn't look as crowded as I would expect. Merry Christmas, Francois!!
Merry Christmas, Brian!! It's not sooo cold, though for a few days it can get down to -16c! At that time, it feels like the arctic! Once one gets passed that, it's bearable lol. Not many people at this time!:)
❤❤❤
♡♡♡ thank you!!!
You are a fantastic ambassador for showcasing the best of the Korea to the world. I sincerely appreciate it and I enjoy your vlogs. Keep up the great work!! 🙌
Thank you so much for this! I'm doing my best to show the positive sides of Korea:) I'll keep going forward!
They have their pitfalls when booking especially when you book on your default membership. If you do not go back in to edit and check everything you could end up paying more than you wanted. Seems like a big scam that was put there intentionally. Because reading on forums it happens quite a lot.
toooooo cold🥶🥶🥶🥶
Loooool, it actually feels good...during the day lol. You can survive lol
Cold is good. I like cold 🥶
I'm starting to like the cold these days too!!!
I remember on really cold days I'd buy some 핫팩 from GS25 to put in my gloves ;). @francoismarc3 I'm curious, does the air quality in Seoul ever bother you in Winter or Spring?
Starbucks is Christmas is so Korea 🎄
Right? Lol. Usually, I don't go to Starbucks, but I needed a warm place to go for the video! It was a good choice!
Brother, I am very impressed with all your knowledge of winter travel in Korea with so many wonderful places you have recommended here in this video. I think I have been to most of the places that you have mentioned and they are all fantastic like you said. But I am not going to lie, as you said, winter is freezing here in Korea, so I prefer to stay indoors like at Lotte Shopping Mall in Chamsil, and at Coex in SamSung Dong. However, when I was younger, I used to go skiing a lot in Korea in winter. Some of the places that I have been to and highly recommend are Bears Town Ski Resort in Chuncheon, Elysian in Gangchon, Alpensia Ski Resort in Pyeongchang and Yongpyong Ski Resort in Daegwallyeongn. If you really want to indulge in the winter experience and feel what winter is like in Korea, I can't think of any better place than a ski resort in Korea. Even though Korea is a very small country, it has some amazing ski resorts. I promise you will not be disappointed. Just imagine the adrenaline and just being out on a beautiful nature, skiing down the slope. It is simply breathtaking!! You will love it!! I still remember all the fond memories of skiing when I first came to Korea twenty years ago because I am from the South in the U.S. and we don't get much snow there so there are virtually no ski resorts. I really had a blast!! Francois, have you thought about skiing this winter in Korea? or are you not much of a skier? As always, peace brother!! Great job with your video today!! See you!!
I love living and traveling in Korea, especially during the winter. Many folks have asked me if Korea is worth traveling during the winter, I hope this video can help you decide! Yooo, thanks so much!! Happy Holidays too!!

Thanks for letting me know!:)
Francois, have you been to this? "Seoul’s 2024 Gwanghwamun Market Transforms Gwanghwamun Square into Santa Village, Offering Festive Magic and Christmas Cheer in South Korea" I just saw an article about it. They have a floating lantern festival too. It's still going on. I hope you visit it. I would love to see what that's like. Merry Christmas Francois. It's Christmas morning where I'm at. Thank you for all your insights into SK. They are so much appreciated. You have a beautiful soul. No pun intended.
Hahahahah no pun intended lol. I love it! I'm out of the country right now, but maybe I can get my friend to get me some b-roll!! Thank you for all the support and I also received your email!! Happy Holidays in Georgia with your family!!!!
You make wiser decisions Francois. SK is fortunate to have expats like you.. And so are we
Thank you so much, but I have to get much better at my decision-making process:( I'm trying my best, though I fall short more often than not:( Thank you always for the kind words!!!♡♡♡
I'd rather be stressed out sometimes in Korea compared to being miserable in NYC. I'm moving to Korea in 2025
I've seen videos about New York...how bad is it there?
@francoismarc3 it's very very dirty..... Ridiculously expensive. People spend more than half of their income on rent here.....a lot of shady characters here......not much to do during the weekends either. a lot of my coworkers have trouble finding stuff to do. I see them walking around aimlessly all the time.....I can go on and on but the most devastating thing about NYC is how expensive it is here just to live. Most new yorkers living paycheck to paycheck.
I am Korean, I love the vast grasslands of Mongolia. The scenery is very beautiful
Agreed! It's my favorite country to visit!!!
Damn no one corrected/told you on how to pronounce Vientiane 😆🤦🏻♂️
No one at all:( I wish someone had!
@ next time you go ill have to have my aunt show u round shes tour guide n knows all the best spots n foods there
@laysay1645 Niiice! I would appreciate that a lot!!!
There are UA-cam videos of Chinese international students participating in the protest. There are Chinese students on stage making speeches against the president of KOREA. And there was a vlog of a Chinese woman who flew to Korea to participate in the protest. I mean.. They blend in perfectly, especially if they spoke Korean. (UA-cam erased my last comment.) 😂 I always wonder what would happen if Koreans were caught protesting in one of anti state protests in China. It seems like there is no active law to punish Chinese from intervening Korean politics, which I find very problematic. (Hope this comment doesn't get erased this time.)
Wow...I didn't know that. From a personal standpoint, I find it strange when foreigners protest in political rallies of a foreign country. I don't understand the point, though there may be one. In my opinion, which doesn't count for much, it is how subterfuge happens. I'm happy this comment remained!
₮9,000.0 is roughly $2.65 USD - that's insane. You were walking around with basically $3 😂😂😂
At least I survived! Lol
🌲메리 크리스마스 2024 남은시간 잘 보내시고 한국에서 향운만 가득하길 바람니다
Merry Christmas 2024!! Thank you so much for the well wishes! I'm enjoying my time on Korea so much!:)♡♡♡ Happy Holidays!!
Thats gotta be Cap cuz! Cant be your first time there, lol.
Not first time, but first time I actually went to the library part and stayed for a significant time. The only other time I went was to take the elevator upstairs lol
Although I'm a European-American, I agree with you on all points. I've been here in Korea since 1995 or so, and it seems the 'home' is getting more and more mean spirited. Korean is a sensible and safe country to live in. I've had a couple of guys confront me and offer violence, but it was only two times in more than 20 years, and neither was dangerous or life-threatening as might have happened back home. The Korean paper just said there's more than a million foreigners here in Korea-- a lot in factories and mining, but still that's a very high level. A strong vote of confidence. It's a good place to be.
Agreed! At least for my life, and I see for yours, Korea is the place to be!!
Most of the books are fake, just covers. There are more in every Polish school library. I enjoyed the beauty of the place, but there was nowhere to sit. Everyone wanted to take a picture, because this place looks good on camera and on Instagram. But in reality there is nothing to do there. Lots of people, little space. Another nice library is in Suwon. Similar. Lots of covers, a place to take pictures and that's it.
Yeah, it's definitely one of the Instagrammable places in Seoul. If one goes there early, finding seats can be easier, I think lol. A nice place to kill time (I hate this expression), especially if it's cold outside!!
@@francoismarc3 I'm afraid that getting a seat (any seat) in this library is impossible just as finding a free luggage box at Seoul Station 🤣😅 This is already a legend...
Amazing how small it is. A much more interesting attraction is the aquarium with dolphins and sharks swimming overhead, which is located next door. Literally.
I wanted to cover that in a separate video, but you are correct!!:)
new trend started in in America. It came from Korea. So many Americans women are coming to Korea to learn new trend..
Hey there! Which trend? Celebrating Christmas?

Dang, that place is incredible... Seems like Christmas is definitely the best time to visit too! (Now you need to go back with your camera!)
You are correct!! I actually brought my camera with me, but no one to take photos of lol. I'll be back, as a certain Terminator is wont to say hahaha
This is why I always take what the media says with a grain of salt. I always rather see things with my own eyes than be dictated by what narratives they make people believe. Glad things are going as is usual. Always be safe brother
The mass media lies often...It's business as usual in Korea! Though I don't know what is happening behind the scenes lol
so are those books that are really high on those tall bookshelves accessible or just there for decoration?
I think just for show lol. It didn't look like there were ladders around for people to climb up hahahah
This type of Mongolian wrestling is called Bokh
I didnt know this! Thank you so much!!:)
It’s the small, simple things that add value to our lives. So nice to see you appreciating a lot of things that bring a smile to your face, Francois ✌🏻
The simple things are incredibly important! The older I get, the more I realize this! And I'm happy to be smiling again, brotha!

Hey, thank you so much for watching and enjoying my content! I'm always doing my best to smile, even though it isn't easy, I think, for me, it's the best way to live!!:) Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!!!:)
Brother, even though I love living in Korea, especially in Seoul, watching this video today brings back so many wonderful past memories of Christmas in the U.S. growing up. A celebration of joy and togetherness with families coming together, sharing delicious meals, exchanging festive gifts beneath twinkling lights, visiting local malls in Buckhead in Atlanta, listening to Christmas carols, etc. I still could never forget the excitement and joy of opening my Christmas gifts on Christmas day when I was a young boy. As a matter of fact, I could not sleep before Christmas thinking about the gifts that I was about to get. I love the Christmas holiday in the U.S. and the traditions!!! So many great memories. I am sure you know what I am talking about Francois you as an American grown up there. It is just not the same here in Korea!!! As always, peace brother, and I wish you a joyful trip today wherever you may be visiting!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! See you~~
You are correct, brother! So many memories of not wanting to go to sleep Christmas Eve night, but at the same time, wanting to sleep because I knew what would await in the morning! It's not the same here, but I think we have a wonderful occasion to make that reality happen! We can start, or restart those traditions with the families we start! Maybe I will be able to share these traditions with a new family, hopefully:) But brother, at least we have the memories!!! Let's enjoy them while we have them! We aren't getting any younger!! Happy holidays, brother!!! Thanks always for your support!!!
Well said brother~^^@@francoismarc3
