In Italy, daunting but I always get it back. I photocopy my passport just incase something on toward happens but it is usually safe anyway.
@@firestar7774 I took three trips to Italy. Only the first time (in 2002), did the hotel ask for my passport. As I understand things, they gave the passports to the police, who does I don't know what with it. I got it back the following day.

A lot of the cars in the "super car junkyards" aren't actually broken or inoperable. People abandon the cars, usually foreigners, because it's illegal to be in debt so they abandon everything and leave to a different country. Apparently, you can go to jail for a long time over there if you default on debts. Also, it's not that people are necessarily abandoning them at these places, it's just that they have nowhere else to put them so they tow them to these lots and they just turned into the "super car junkyards". We stopped in Dubai when I was on a deployment while I was in the Marine Corps. That place is weird, I was not feelin it!

My ancestors are Berber. There is nothing you could ever tell me, that would convince me to live in Morocco. I was there once lasted for 3 days and I left. You have to remember evil exist in the world. And when you go to prison for reporting a crime, when you can legally be raped because you have no rights. Also a fun detail; if someone punches you, if they get on the phone faster than you and just get the criminal report in saying that you punched them, you will become the criminal. Who makes the report first is the one who is believed over anything. If someone doesn't like you or your mistreat someone, they can get you in jail in no time and you are screwed.

I live in Spain too. I would never move to an arabic country regardless of how cheap it is. Spain is pretty cheap, Italy, Greece, parts of France, Portugal, Malta, parts of Eastern Europe and Latin America, Southeast Asia.... maybe not AS cheap, but there are still many other places to go in the world. Singapore is great, and I spent time in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, which is very similar to Singaoire. So many people rave on about Dubai to me, but I'm frankly not interested. Also, the amount of horrendous stories that happen to travelers or expats over there is insane.
Just wait for Arabic countries to move to Spain. :)

I know a few filipina house keepers in Dubai. They're abused, beat, and raped now and then. They can't leave bcuz their passports are under lock and key. So they have to endure the abuse. Although one did help her out of the country.

As a service member, taking liberty in Dubai multiple times, I can attest to the atrocity. The first time I visited Dubai, it blew my mind and changed my perspective on life.

I lived with my parents in Bahrain when my father worked there for decades and we heard first hand many stories about Dubai. When I'm traveling to SE Asia I avoid any flights with stop over in Dubai etc. Bahrain was a safe regulated place and people sometimes fail to realise that Dubai is not the same.

I've been to Dubai last August 2023. It's definitely not the United States. If you're considering going, know that our rights we take for granted, aren't existent. From my experience, I saw a land that's propped up by corruption and ladies, your 'rights' aren't getting you anywhere. Be safe traveling and by no means go off on your own to 'Discover'. You may discover unspeakable things happening to you.
I lived in Morocco for years. It's so expensive. It's also filthy. There is no infrastructure in most parts, so you don't even have sanitation. Don't believe the hype. Morocco's beauty is a mirage, seen through a screen!

A friend of mine's husband applied for a job there. The company put them up in a luxury hotel and flew them there. While they were there, a bunch of their things were stolen from their room, many of those things were very valuable such as original diplomas and certifications for the job interview. When they complained to the hotel staff, the staff threatened to report their "complaints" to the compnay. The company promptly dropped the interviews and told them to pay for the hotel room because they were going to be "trouble makers" and didnt want them in their company. Their return ticket was cancelled and they ended up returning at their own expense. They were told they were lucky they werent reported to the police. Their experience taught them that you learn to keep your mouth shut and never complain about anything. Victim blaming is over the top there.
I'm a nurse whose never been, but I work with a lot of nurse who have been there multiple times and love the place. After this video I no longer want to go.

While Singapore is a wonderful place, they have their own ultra-strict laws as well. Crazy fact: chewing gum, selling it, and possessing it is a crime. It is also probably the cleanest place in the world - both socially and environmentally.

This whole peninsula was basically a British Protectorate and the process accelerated during WWI that involves bringing down the last vestiges of the Ottoman Empire. It was one empire against another (British). This is what the movie "Lawrence Of Arabia" was about starring Peter O'Tool (Lawrence) and Anthony Quinn as a Lead tribesman. There is a scene with Quinn and Sir Richard Burton (Lawrence) where Lawrence had to explain to Anthony Quinn what an Arab was and is, then they went on to battle.
If you have to go to Dubai for a POOL, you're a different brand of weird.
22:00 - China has a similar problem with anything from bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, to EV’s (& even the buildings). They don’t do any maintenance. Use it until it falls apart and dumps it in landfills

This was very enlightening. I always wondered why Dubai was attractive and suddenly the place to go. I was never interested b/c of the eastern religion(s), culture, and govts. I could not enjoy being in a place where I was afraid to be. Makes no sense to do that. Not my cup of tea. And then the human rights violations with the slave labor. Definitely not interested in that.
