Crypto is risky as many would say but I think the actual risk in Crypto is not investing, buying the capitulation isn't a tough call, but it is a very tough call to figure out what to do aside holding. I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I’m up with 128k in a short period of time

Makes more sense if you consider he might've had some sort of undiagnosed mental disorder. The fact that he only ever told one person about the _alleged_ kidnapping is a bit of a red flag, because that's indicating paranoia getting in the way of him making rational decisions. I know a lot of people would point at his behavior before his death as not being one of a suicidal person, but how many times do we watch videos from channels like Coffehouse Crime where some suicide or murder-suicide has friends and neighbors going "oh my god, he/she seemed so happy, I never would've guessed!" At this point we all should've learned not to take a person's outward behavior as indisputable proof they aren't hiding some sort or internal struggle.

With the first guy, he could have sold one of his expensive cars to pay off all his debts. Why would he go back to a country where he had so many enemies?
Court records indicate that John Forsyth had $800K in crypto and around $1 million in other assets. Half of his net worth was to go to his ex-wife through the divorce along with $19K/month in alimony and child support. As a physician, he was making around $350-400K/year. All things pointed to a bleak outlook for him and likely drove him to take his own life. Keep in mind his disappearance was shortly after his divorce court ruling.

The thing is with crypto When you die you're the only one who has access to your crypto wallet and those assets will sit there indefinitely unless you've given direction and access to your loved ones. It's not like a bank. That cold storage thumb drive gets tossed with all your other thumb drives. That's a problem.
The real problem is that the criminals can use your cold wallet without even laundering it, if they break your password... ...assuming you're smart enough to put a password.

What comes to mind when hearing about John’s case is that he could have been blackmailed. The fact that he was once already abducted and robbed and he didn’t say anything about it makes it seem like he also wanted to hide something. Yes they could’ve threatened his family but it seems super weird that in both scenarios he was super compliant, the no talking and in the 2nd one, walking away from his car. Surly he had to know he was walking towards his death. A smart person that was in danger would get in his car and run and warn your family to flee as well. He willingly walked away from his car. I think he was blackmailed and felt like he didn’t have a choice but to comply. Him sending money to people before his death kinda lets us know he had to have known he was in danger. Why would someone who’s in danger not seek help? As in who could’ve blackmailed him, maybe a ex friend or business partner or maybe the gov? Who ever it was has to have major power to be able to cover something up so badly but effectively.
Please, please, please cover John McAfee. His case is so weird that I actually have trouble wrapping my brain around it. As always, wonderful content! Thank you so much! ❤❤❤
just curious, I'm from Australia and was wondering if you could eventually do a story on the Bondi Westfield shopping center stabbing? or just more stuff in the country.
@@CoffeehouseCrime We learned that John Cauchi is a incel as well as having major mental health problems. and when you have a look at the victims, most of them are women.
It's a horrible tragedy. Things about the perpetrator have been coming out and it sounds like he was struggling with his mental health and off his meds. A lot of people in his life can't imagine him becoming this violent and his family expressed concerns about his mental health, I think he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I can't help but feel bad for him, angry he went off his meds, but at the same time I often did the same when my bipolar wasn't as severe and I felt "fine" (I haven't gone off my meds in 2 years because I have so many reminders on my body how dangerous that is for me). Antipsychotics can have side effects that are distressing to people, especially the weight gain and sedation so I can imagine if his schizophrenia isn't under control he could be paranoid he's being poisoned or think he's perfectly fine and doesn't need them. I'm not defending or agreeing with him, just providing some insight as someone with similar mental health issues. Even if they did horrendous things, I can't help but feel sad for people going through this stuff and not getting the help they need or being too paranoid and fearful to get help. (My manic delusions are all seated in paranoia, it's a horrible thing to go through, especially if it's severe enough for me to get tactile and auditory hallucinations) Psychiatrists and psychologists are also really expensive to see as frequently as you need, especially if you use up all of your 10 medicare sessions (you can get an extra 5 if you have a care team of 3 or more)

Why the 2nd guy John, worth millions, feels like life is in danger...is living in his van DOWN BY THE RIVER. Makes zero sense.
Just saying, this reminded me of Chris Farley’s “I LIVE IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER “ bit
Broke up again with wife (and 7 kids), living in van which costs about $300,000.00, temporary as it's steps from work. A lot of other stuff far more closely related to the story.
I can kind of understand it if he was good at hiding off grid and thought him being away would protect his family. You're not wrong though. I'm thinking he was probably in survival mode, and that doesn't mean you have the best survival instincts...
😂😂
I wonder why the doctor guy was living in an RV. I get the proximity to work thing, but he’s a millionaire, father of 7, soon to be 8, a doctor, had a fiancée, and he didn’t have a permanent address?

With the first guy, he could have sold one of his expensive cars to pay off all his debts. Why would he go back to a country where he had so many enemies?
He ,at have owed as much on the cars as they worth.
Financed cars.
C'mon Adrian, come clean.
I dont think he ever owned those cars legitimately. He probably lied about the cRs... who knows.
The money game is the most lethal one for anyone to get involved in. It makes me feel a bit safer knowing that I haven't got anything worth killing me for. I will say, I ought to start having more coffee. I typically watch this channel every time I eat ramen. 🍜
Just discovered this and I must say it was well presented.
Blackmail occurred to me as well.
Please, please, please cover John McAfee. His case is so weird that I actually have trouble wrapping my brain around it.

(My manic delusions are all seated in paranoia, it's a horrible thing to go through, especially if it's severe enough for me to get tactile and auditory hallucinations)
Psychiatrists and psychologists are also really expensive to see as frequently as you need, especially if you use up all of your 10 medicare sessions (you can get an extra 5 if you have a care team of 3 or more)
