This video review of Taurine is an update to the video I recorded several years ago on Taurine.
In this video you'll discover the nootropic benefits of Taurine. Including why we use Taurine as a nootropic, recommended dosage, side effects, clinical research, and which type to buy of Taurine.
Taurine is one the most abundant amino acids in your brain, spinal cord, eyes, and nearly every tissue in your body.
Taurine functions as a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator in your brain. Activating GABA and glycine receptors which affects memory and mood and prevents seizures.
Taurine recommended dose is 5 mg two or three times per day.
Taurine is a potent antioxidant, protects from mitochondrial dysfunction, modulates energy metabolism within cells, modulates genes to induce longevity, inhibits cellular stress associated with Alzheimer’s, acts as ‘quality control’ in brain cell health, and protects against stroke.
Taurine increases stem cells and progenitor cells (neural precursor cells) in your brain including the aging hippocampus and increases the survival of newborn neurons. A WHO study covering 61 populations in 25 countries found that populations with the highest levels of taurine in their system lived the longest.
Those who use Taurine report more energy, better sleep, sharper eyesight, less pain, less depression, it relieves chronic fatigue, reduces insulin resistance, and lowers blood pressure.
Recommended Taurine daily dosage is 500 mg - 2 gm per day.
    This in-depth Taurine review covers:

I started supplementing with taurine when I was 50. I heard of the benefits and I am now 63. My long distance eyesight is very good. When I golf with my peer group it is usually me who can see where their balls have landed. In my late 40s I started to get silent migraines. The symptoms were blurred vision followed by a low grade headache that lasted several hours. When I started to take taurine they disappeared. For a while I ran out of taurine and within a few days the migraines returned. I have also noticed I’m much calmer than I used to be. People comment that I’m not easily rattled or get upset, I do believe that taurine has helped. I do know if I don’t take it for a couple of days I get irritated much more easily. My daily dose is approximately 3 g. I have never experienced any side effects. For the past few years I have also added glycine to my stack. My wife and I both take glycine and taurine daily. We walk 5 miles a day, do Pilates, go to the gym three times a week. We are living our best lives we can.

Try reducing you dose to no more than 2 grams per day. And see if that helps. One of the problems with these supplements is overdosing them which usually causes more problems than it helps.

That was a lot of info, and have to watch the video again to take it all in😊 A couple month ago I’ve started supplementing 1.000 mg. of taurine daily - along with NAC and Glycine. Earnestly I can’t say for sure if I have felt a difference, but I will continue and give it time. NAC however changed my life - my asthma/bronchitis have largely disappeared since I started supplementing half a year ago.

Oh Wow! I am watching this cause I just started to take Taurine 2 days ago, 1 capsule of 1,000 mg before going to bed. I've noticed right away that my eyes are not.
dry anymore, also I do not squinch to read, i had tinitus which started cause of a lot of stress and pressure at work and it diminished conderably and have some peace and quiet now. I know you said it takes a little time before you notice changes, I noticed yesterday, my sleep has improved too, i sleep deeply and wake up completely rested and ready to go I feel so good! Now I know why my dogs love their liver, they eat it even before the bones and meat
Thank you for Blessing us with your knowledge.
I makes a lot of sense, i remember when I was a little girl that all my family would have liver twice a week, my grand parents as well.
And in those days it was never heard about Ellzhimer's, Autism, ADD.

Another reason why those on carnivore end up feeling so much better. The abundance of amino acids heal. I found out a long time ago I could add a selection of amino acids to a stevia enhanced beet root powder in a jumbo 32 ounce water container. It tastes like a salty koolaid & enhances my day like no breakfast can.
My second dosage of nootropics comes in my jumbo cup of bulletproof coffee, which feeds the fats to take a few vitamins / minerals. It's tasty & my brain lights up like an xmas tree, no caffeine needed.
Aminos are one of the least expensive & safest ways to mitigate healing.

I agree with all the people leaving compliments, here in this Comment section. You do great work, and have helped me a lot.
Regarding a sensible dosage of Taurine (for help with OCD and anxiety disorders in general), is it OK to start out with taking 1,000 mg two or three times a day? Rather than the 500 mg dose suggested ("two or three times a day") in your Description above?
I mistakenly bought a large bottle that has 1,000 mg of Taurine in them, per capsule. Is it worth it to simply pour our half the powder from each capsule, discarding it, before taking a dose? Or is there "no problem" with taking a full 1,000 mg multiple times per day? (Usually, and for most people, that is ... )

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  4 місяці тому +1

Double check and make sure that the supplement you have is 1,000 mg in one capsule. Because it is more likely 500 mg per capsule.
I personally use 1,000 mg Taurine twice per day. And could safely add another 1,000 mg if I felt the need. But that dose works for me.

    • @gentleoldmoviefan5680

@@NootropicsExpertthe Supplement I have is Life Extension's Taurine, and it is 1,000 mg per capsule. Dosage & Use given by them is: Take one (1) capsule one to three times daily on an empty stomach, or as directed by ... With some supplements (other than Taurine, that is), I've read that it's best to start out gradually and slowly, and build up to eventually be taking the full optimal dose desired, daily. I'm wondering if Taurine falls into that category, -OR- rather, if a person can just start taking the full optimal dose of it, daily and regularly.
Is there any benefit from "going slow" with Taurine, in starting out with it?
      Thanks.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  4 місяці тому +1

I suggests starting slow with every supplement until you find out if it works for you. Or not. Better to use one capsule per day and see how your body responds. If all is good then add another capsule at noon then next day. And if that works consider adding a 3rd capsule around 4 PM the next day.

Tony, I said "High taurine dosage should be avoided if you are dealing with bipolar disorder because it could make your symptoms worse." Some studies show those with bipolar are deficient in Taurine. So a dose of 500 mg - 1,000 mg may help. But if it makes it worse for you then reduce the dose.

Is taurine safe to take with methylene blue?

Excellent information except for recommending coffee/caffeine. Caffeine is detrimental to good health. I recommend reading the book, “Caffeine Blues”.

Sir, how do you maintain such good eye contact??? Are you using a teleprompter, or do you just have an exceptional memory due to your expert self-administration of nootropics? I wish I had that ability.

Mark, think about this for a minute. I do not know anyone who could memorize a half hour worth of script no matter how good your nootropic stack. A teleprompter is the best option for doing these videos.

Nowadays you have teleprompter apps. I still have an old fashioned one on an old fashioned camera 😅

It's a massive stretch to say Taurine reverses Tinnitus. Hogwash! Not in my experience!

It works for "some" people. Not everyone. Sorry it did not work for you. I do have a few other supplements that may help if you are interested. Best to schedule a consultation with me and I'll walk you through them and anything else you need to talk about.
