You need no supplements, especially taurine if you are eating human appropriate food, carnivore. Taurine the MASTER REGULATOR, is plenty in animal food and you only need to extra supplement if there's a specific health issue from the previous kibble diet you need to fix/adjust before you rely again only to animal based carnivore way of eating

Just curious what your ethnic background is. I’m almost 60 years old, African American and many of my friends think I’m in my mid 40s. However, if you don’t have sun damage or stay in a region like Iceland, you could reverse aging. Many people from Iceland who are 70s look and act much younger. I don’t know but there are many factors involved. But, you seem to be a very nice person and honestly, it really doesn’t matter. As long as you’re happy and are enjoying life, that’s the most important thing. Take care and have a very Happy New Year!

Two considerations: The study lead has mentioned that older people why have higher taurine are in better health suggesting a possible causal link. This leads in the second point - test taurine level. Amino acid panels are available and they include taurine. Test, then tweak taurine supplementation to get to the 20 to 30 year old level. This will likely be a lot less taurine than just blindly following the 3 to 6 gram conversion from mice. At 69 yo my level is at the 40 yo per the study human graph.

    Great overview.
I took taurine up to 10g per day spread out. I did this for I believe a few months. I was seeing if it impacted my tinnitus and hearing.
I personally did not notice any acute negative side effects. I gradually increased my taurine intake up to 10mg. I used powdered bulk taurine.
This is just my personal observations.
Check with your health care professionals.
I stopped taking taurine but I recently restarted at 2g powdered taurine.
I think it is important to keep a checklist to track intake. Just make an excel sheet or something. It may be helpful just for your own knowledge.

thanks for the report about the paper. The effect on mTor was new to me. Based on that it could be supportive to inject it in a higher dose into a period of time restricted feeding, or a fasting period after 18h+.
I knew about taurine in a different context, as a protector of mitochondrial membrane and one of the main scavengers of ROS within the mitochondria. It also improves beta-oxidation and handling of fatty acids. Note that it naturally usually comes with meat, hence that would make some sense.
That also would direct Taurine as a supporting\enhancing agent specifically for a low carb diet.
And indeed, some years ago, when my diet contained quite some more carbs (40% cal) than today (25% cal) the immediate effect (2g/d) was getting tired, as the metabolism was directed away from Glucose fueling. Taurine was invoking a mini keto flu, I guess.
Given that profile I would not cycle on\off, but cycle the dosage, with a lower dose during times of food intake. Taurine is not easily or quickly washed out I think.

@@PhyllisMoon Here's a general overview of how hormonal changes progress in a woman's body after menopause:
      Early Postmenopause (First 5 Years):
      Estrogen and Progesterone Decline:
Estrogen and progesterone levels decrease significantly.
These hormonal changes can lead to symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.
      Mid-Postmenopause (5 to 10 Years):
      Stabilization of Hormone Levels:
Hormone levels may stabilize to a certain extent.
Many menopausal symptoms may lessen, although some women may continue to experience symptoms like vaginal dryness or changes in mood.
      Late Postmenopause (10+ Years):
      Continued Decline in Hormones:
Estrogen levels continue to decline, albeit at a slower rate.
      Progesterone levels remain low.
      Bone Health Concerns:

Taurine is known as the Wonder Molecule because it's our largest amino acid, and the secret behind longevity in the Blue Zones. It's because they are big pork and seafood eaters in Sardinia and Japan, the best sources of taurine, making them some of the oldest living people. It's also the secret to healthy brain, eyes, liver, and heart.

In Okinawa, the blue zone, they eat surprisingly little seafood, mostly sweet potatoes. Thanks for the video. I have sen the study and I am taking taurine for about 3 months by now. However, you make one conclusion you cannot derive from the data: about needing to take taurine for twenty years before. That is an interpretation of the data, not a fact. It can very well be, that before that time, taurine supplementation doesn't do anything simply because the body still makes enough by itself. Continue the good work!

Hi, Let me clarify the interpretation - in the mice studies it took 20 years for the taurine group to have reduced mortality - not benefits. I never said benefits. However, had they started old mice, I suspect mortality reduction will take place within 1 yeas. They just gave it to young mice, that are not likely to die.

If of no or negative benefits found in there review of studies would not add as then sales to drop off. But then amount in energy drinks seems minor compared to amounts you mention so maybe of not much use for energy and added just for marketing? Besides removing AGE's, what else does it to in considering the dosing regimen?

It's fascinating how you can actually feel the effects of Beta Alanine working. On the other hand, I didn't notice much of an effect from Taurine, although I only tried one bottle and at a lower dosage than what was recommended in the video.

    • @1GHOUL1
      @1GHOUL1 6 місяців тому

@@pjaworek6793 I personally think Beta Alanine is better than Taurine in terms of practicality as it allows the body to raise Carnosine and keeps it raised in the body with a very slow washout rate of 14 weeks. So it may allow people to go on a short vacation without having to take it everyday like Taurine. But effectiveness in longevity between the two supplements is the comparison I’d like to see. You also just have to take 3 grams of Beta Alanine to maintain a very high concentration of Carnosine in the body.

*MATH BRAINS HELP ME OUT HERE:* According to what you stated was in the study, 1000 mg per kg of body weight is what was used in the mice trials. So, for a 160 lb. man you must divide 160 by 2.2 to find the kilogram equivalent. That = 72.73 kg for 160 lbs. Thus, we must then multiply 72.73 kg of body weight by 1000 mg = 72,730 mg of Taurine daily or *72.72 grams daily* not 6 grams! Where are you getting your 6 gram number you list at the marker: 9:51 ?

@shotgunsnare - If you had x-rays showing calcium nodules and/or bone spurs and then received an arthritis diagnosis because of this, it may be curable. An excess of Calcium and a deficiency of Magnesium will cause these bony anomalies, which can be undone by removing supplemental Calcium from your diet and instead, adding high doses of Magnesium ingestion. Over time, this will dissolve the excess calcium buildup and restore the body to its normal self. *HERE'S HOW I LEARNED THIS:* I had severe lower back pain for 13 years. Went everywhere to get help, including the Mayo Clinic. They found calcium nodules in my lower back & bone spurs. Their solution was stretching and weight bearing exercises, which I had already been doing without any resolution of the issue. I began to do massive research as I was in a great deal of distress. For a separate reason entirely I began taking Magnesium in high doses and after 5 months, my back pain suddenly was gone. No more bone spurs in my vertebrae! I've continued to take it daily (at triple the daily norm) since 2001. I have no pains anywhere! In spring of 2023, I went in and had my first coronary calcium score done to see how much calcification I had built up in my heart & abdomen. My score came back at ZERO calcification! This is rare to find no calcified plaque in someone in their late 60's. I attribute this entirely to my taking magnesium, K2 and other supplements nightly for many years.

It took 5 months to get to that. That is also when I realized my back pain was gone. I reduced down to a triple dose (1200 mg) at night and slowly moved back to double the dose (800mg) as my daily dose over the next year and stayed at that amount for many years after. In recent years I've gone back up to 1200 mg each night. If I miss a few days, the nagging back pain starts to wake up. So, I go right back on it. I hope it helps you too, and if so, try to report back!

I take around 2g of NAC and 15-20g of glycine most days. I remember reading that these supplements have a similar effect to Taurine and therefore no point in adding it. I’d be interested to know if this is correct information.

Taurine and glycine do completely different things in the body, and are both needed independently. Glycine does not replace the need for taurine.
Look up Pottengers Humans UA-cam channel for some of the best videos on both taurine and glycine I have found.

While informative, I think the editing was a little rushed ... at 03:25 your graphic shows an increase of life-PAN (not life-SPAN)
It's a minor error, but you should re-upload, because people like to nitpick at such things (like I am doing now) and it discredits the information for not being reviewed.
I like that you shared the study in the video description

I will need to live longer in order to pay off the cost of the supplementation that will make me live longer!...can we have a revised 'top 10'?....the list of special supplements which are crucial for longevity seem to be growing exponentially, day on day!...NMN, berberine, metformin, resveratrol, fisetin, quercetin, TMG, beta alanine...and that is not to mention the 'basic' vitamins and minerals that we also need to take..D3, K2, fish oils, etc...plus, add to this special herbs like ashwaganha, tongKat ali, etc.,...my goodness! 🤷

Hi Tabula, I don't take many of the supplements you mentioned. 4 grams of taurine in powder costs 5USD per month
