"I've killed every NPC" Now, Jon, you missed a couple DLCs worth of NPCs in your NV Kill Everything! Still hoping and waiting for NV Kill Everything remake.
You can also do it without talking to NPCs at all (he did quests first?), like your character is a murderer that can't speak, sadly you can't really play that way in dlc, still was a nice run when I did it myself.
to be fair, old world blues is technically impossible due to the rules of the run dictating that you dont leave an area without killing everyone in it and, due to the pacification field, meaning the big brains cant be killed
Jon, this has been bothering me for years. You always buy a shovel, but there's a full condition shovel right next to one of the wells at goodspring source.
I can think of one way of reducing the amount of XP you get: sympathetic explosion. If I remember correctly, an explosive going off due to a nearby explosion doesn't count as you killing them as long as it's the second explosion that finishes them off. So your extremely Looney Tunes attempted kill on a Deathclaw might be useful at the very end (or in cases where the death of someone would be useful)
I imagine getting a sufficiently large number of explosives without gaining at least some XP might not be possible, although on very easy that might actually not be much.
juuso puroila it depends on if he could buy them from the limited shops he has, and he picks up quite a few frag grenades that should work the same way

Jon seemed convinced that NCR would shoot him on sight and Legion would spawn assassins when NCR reputation was neutral and Legion reputation was non-existent.
After you go far enough down non legion questlines like yesmam the legion starts to send the deathsquads anyway since they know your working against them. The NCR will just not like you, unless your aligned legion.

As a fellow New Vegas junkie, I found this thoroughly entertaining. About what you said at the end with the speech check to fight Lanius one on one, you'd need Good Karma for that. As far as I'm aware, there are no ways to gain karma without also gaining xp, since you need to finish quests certain ways or kill fiends/ghouls without them attacking you to have positive karma. So I'm pretty sure you're almost exactly at the xp floor Jon :)

So it doesn't really make sense for both of those to be true.
Since I see the similarities to a speedrun, I kinda want to see this as a category with a time penalty per experience. The room for optimization is there.
Typically with "lowest " runs it's classed by fastest run of the lowest , followed by the remaining ones in order, then the fastest run of the second lowest , etc etc This is to optimize the variable first and the speed second, as opposed to "well, as long as I can be faster it's alright"

I don’t know if you will see this, but it might be possible to complete New Vegas with less Xp by doing the NCR ending. There are a couple extra skill checks by doing this path, for example the 75 science terminal to kill house. But overall it should be less xp. Also, like some other people have mentioned you can kill legate lanius with lots of dropped dynamite, potentially reducing the amount of xp needed even further.
I love the idea behind a run like this. I had a run in which I tried to finish Nuka World (100%) as low a level as I could. You know, I've actually played a build with exactly those stats. He was a wasteland superhero named Supermutant Steve, gave him green skin and everything.
Jon, I've seen you buy a low condition shovel in several of these playthroughs, and it doesn't really make much of a difference when you're just using it to dig up graves, but did you know that you can find one with 100% condition for free propped up next to one of the water pumps Sunny Smiles asks you to clear out? That's always been my go-to graverobbing shovel.
I wonder if visiting Ruby Hill Mine to get Mr. Pushy off the jackles corpse might be dooable early on, maybe with a stealth boy pickpocketed from joe cob or the schoolhouse

I love how, when you apply a rule to a run, you do so, literally. I probably would have taken a different route and used the Stealth Boy. So now I have to wonder. What is the lowest score and will this be a world record?
After 35:00 I now really want to see Jon try and do a proper speedrun of New Vegas using all the weird tricks they have like the reloading dash and broken leg speed boosts.
Definitely not his jam.
Never clicked on a video this quickly i fucking love new vegas
Jon! I've been subbed for a few years now, and I love your content. NV is a welcome sight back on the channel.
god i love fallout new vegas, your videos are absolutely wonderful
as i am currently playing New Vegas so i wont be giving this a try anytime soon
but wow
particularly inspiring
once again Jon you have come up with a new and improved way to play the game
way to go
the worlds slowest speed run LOL
thank you for a fun one
I did not play the game, I don't know what's this about, i just stopped the video at 5 seconds mark to write how wide is my smile after hearing your ever-optimistic intro voice, Jon.
I love how you decided to make the hardest bit *harder* because you were disappointed it was that easy.
Loved this video, really cool idea! Also, well done for making the Lanius fight interesting, that was a good take on what's usually a quite boring final boss fight
Love these challenge runs of new vegas! Great work my good man
studying the range of location revealing on places ive never been to in my first blind playthrough
He can't trigger the source location in this run cause it'll give Him xp
@@gehennaking897 I know, but this isn't the first time he's bought a shovel.
@@NopeJustPatrick the condition of the shovel doesn't matter and its only 20 caps to buy one.
I missed your playthroughs of NV. Thank you Jon
I wonder if visiting Ruby Hill Mine to get Mr. Pushy off the jackles corpse might be dooable early on, maybe with a stealth boy pickpocketed from joe cob or the schoolhouse
I wonder if you can bait the NCR into killing driver nephi for you without getting any xp towards three card bounty. His golf club can cheese a lot of tough fights for you as a melee character
the whole time i was thinking "why didnt he put any points into melee?"
