I think Alex is staying for good since Matt kept saying " We found the drummer we were looking for ". I followed Paul for a bit on Twitter and he seemed to only big up his own nirvana covers band more than trivium. At least Mat Madiro got to play on an album !!!

Crazy how 2 years went by so quickly. I remember being excited as hell for TSATS. Now its actually close to being 3 years since then.
There's been a 2 year gap between all of the albums, except for the 3 year gap after Shogun and TSATS.
Shogun and TSATS are all of their previous albums in one, and they also happen to be 2 of their best

I have been a Trivium fan since the beginning of time. I'm 55 now, I remember bringing my 7th grade son to a Trivium show in Portland so many years ago. It was amazing. He took lessons to play "Down from the sky" and we still love everything Trivium brings.

I just realized that Ascendancy is their 2nd. It's been released almost 20 years ago and i still played regularly just like a new album.

Yeah it's kind of a shock considering each album of theirs is quite different from eachother sound wise. To hear a new song that can basically fit into TSATS is surprising.

I love the fact that we just don't know what the hell to expect given how spontaneous Trivium is with their sound while also remaining true to it at the same time.
I love them for that too, been saying it for years. Lots of bands are afraid to change or they change too drastically. Trivium always tweaks their style, but its still THEIR style. Takes big balls and loads of talent to pull that off over and over again!
Thus why they’re still uncontested as my favorite band. Only one I can think that comes close without compromising too much is Killswitch.

The evolution of this band over the years has been an absolute pleasure to follow. They've come so far and yet, the music the make hasn't lost ANY of it's quality or punch. I've loved Trivium since first discovering Ascendancy 15 years ago and it looks like i'll continue to for many more years to come. [:=

Saw these guys when I went to see Slipknot. I was dumbfounded that this was the first time I’ve heard them. I bought their cd at that concert and was hooked ever since. They’re guitar gods and are extremely talented. More ppl should listen to them. Rock on Trivium!!!

I remember being 15 years old, listening to Ascendancy for the very first time. It was the portal that opened me into being a huge metal fan. I always wondered if I would be an adult still rocking out and enjoying them.. the answer is yes, so much yes! Trivium is aging so well and I think Alex Bent was the last missing piece of Trivium. Instrumentals sound as solid as ever, the temo changes, complexity, prog-ness, it all sounds so cohesive. But one thing I will say, Matt's Vocals (clean and unclean) have never sounded better in my opinion. Hats off Trivium, keep up the good work! Can't wait to see you all again this year!

Trivium is a great band. Haven't listened to this song and others in the album in 2 years roughly and still memorable. Trivium has great tracks from all their past albums. Still never saw them live.....

Interesting! I like the different vocal approach from Heafy and the fact that he's exploring higher vocal tones - and that mid section with guitars sounds pretty cool too! Getting slight Shogun vibes from it as well but I think its safe to say that this is going to be a continued step in the right direction. Bent's drums absolutely kill it too!

For those who haven't already, buy and download the single, get some really good quality speakers, studio monitors or in-ear headphones/monitors, and play this shit loud. UA-cam does nothing for the dymanics and mix of this song. The downloaded single is legit so so much better and will blow you the fuck away.

Blown away on first listen/watch, couldn't stop watching the video, then just got blown away again when I bought, downloaded and listened to the single. Totally just found my new musical happy place. Pre-ordering the hell out of this ASAP.

By the sounds of the single, the rest of the album sounds like it's going to be pure brilliance, especially with them now showcasing Alex as an asset and almost bragging about his legit technical prowess in this track.

My headphones have 50mm drivers. Its sounds pefectly fine,I'm sure it would sound less compressed if you purchase the song. UA-cam has audio compression issues.
