The air intake hoses can lose their flexibility over time. This develops unseen cracks that bring in more air in areas located past the mass airflow sensor. In turn, the ECU cannot determine a sufficient amount of fuel and air mixture. If the hoses is rock hard especially when temperatures are cold, you possibly have a vacuum leak. Using a can of throttle cleaner, spray the hoses while the vehicle is running. If you notice the rpm goes up, you just found your vacuum leak. Happy hunting!
Hi, I have my Bmw e36 316i 1995 Model with Twin Carburetor, Modified a lot. Every morning when start it so hard, you have to step the accelerator push down many times, then when it started you have to push the accelerator when the speedometer goes down, so the engine won't stop, but when you have run the car in a mile or when the engine is hot from running, then when you start it again, it start directly. And if the Lights is turn on on first start the idle goes down and can stop the engine. Any advice?
So far i've found a couple leads for myself. Knock sensor pulse fault "1248". I have a 1994 with OBD1. That's the code i get when i do 5 to the floor. Its supposed to only be for CPU version 3.3, but my car is supposed to be equipped with version 1.7. Then i found other people with the same exact problem and one fella mentioned he found a coolant temp wire accidentally plugged in to the knock sensor. Gona be chacking my knock sensors and wiring to make sure they are correct. previous owner says theres "a new computer" but who knows if there were and crossed wires. Or if they even have the right version of ECU.
Hey, could you tell me what was sollution of this problem? I have a m42 engine from e36 in e30 and after i swapped it, it`s gonna working like yours when it`s cold and warm too. Compression of engine is pretty good about 14,2 bar in every cylinder.

Air intake, vga hose, spark plugs check all them

No, didn’t really try to solve it. The car worked fine when it got some temperature.
