  • What do you think of when you think of Black Sabbath? How about a horn section? A trombone solo? Yeah me neither, but apparently Texas band Brownout disagrees. When covering Black Sabbath, Brownout is also known as Brown Sabbath. Here they are covering The Wizard... trombone and all!

Discovered them a few years ago and couldn't get enough. I watched everything that I could find. Different for sure. Love it !

They are a great band. Their original material is FUNKY and tight.
They also covered Public Enemy’s Fear of a Black ( Brown ) Planet. Instrumental but so good.
And Black Sabbath had some very funk like grooves in their early albums, and definitely the Sabs were exposed to Soul and R’n’B and the Northern Soul scene in the UK as young kids. And you have to love Black Sabbath to put out two Cover albums. Great reaction. This band needs more exposure to the Sabbath faithful.

10 seconds in the song and I already love it. Been a fan of Brass Against for a while, they have a similar vibe (just more horns). Metal on metal 🤘
Absolutely agree with your final conclusion. I felt the same when I heard Brass Against for the first time, 46 & two by Tool on brass instruments 😜🤪🤣 but it works. I love their version of Grand Canyon by Puscifer with Indian vocalist Roopa Mahadevan.

New Subscriber here, I'm lovin' your channel. Being new, I'm gonna throw a card in the hat. My recommendo for you to check out would Shubh Saran - Slip. They're in the same vein as polyphia, completely different sounds, but they could have been neighbors in their Jam studio, kind of thing. Appreciate you!

I remember discovering Brown Sabbath for the first time. As a Sabbath fan I loved it. You can't go wrong with a horn section baby!!!!
You should also check out a band called Mac Sabbath! The singer kind of sucks but the band is good and the concept is hilarious.
