Thanks for addressing the spammers. I have reported some before since they come out in droves when you leave a comment. Also thanks for actually holding an auction. I have unsubscribed from several channels that say they will sell stuff to only waste my time with ridiculous prices.

@@asylumental No, since the auction is no reserve and it will show what people are willing to pay. If people are paying ridiculous prices it will work out well for Dave. Also the vehicles are actually sold. On the other hand I will unsubscribe if he keeps buying stuff back and used this as a publicity stunt like the rest of them. Than he has lost all credibility in my book.

The old cabover gmc is a drill rig but its not like a conventional drill rig it is part of the percussion method of drilling the are know as a cable tool rig im 25 and i grew up in the oilfield my grandfather grew up using those rigs so it cool seeing a rig like that again

Heavy D if it werent for the fact that Im only a Sophomore in high school who lives in Tennessee out in the country than I would buy yalls 1975 379 Peterbilt 18 Wheeler but my father wouldnt let me get it cause he says you dont need a 18 Wheeler. But when im older I plan on Farming and Ill need a ole 18 Wheeler. My favorite 18 Wheelers are Kenworth's and Peterbilt's nothin' else.

@@dubious6718 To be honest, I've driven a lot of different tow trucks, and none of them are fast. They're not built for speed, they're built to work. I've also driven firetrucks like that truck used to be, and they are strong working trucks. Of course, they take off slow because they're geared to pull a lot of weight, but they will also run with any truck once they get up to speed.
The good thing about this one is, a company that may not have a quarter of a million dollars to buy a new one of this magnitude may be able to get this one and be very happy to have it.
I know of companies that are in certain places and they're the only tow companies within 100 miles, and they run much older trucks than this one.
I hope you’re allowing @Whistlindiesel to come and buy some of these vehicles for quality control testing of course!!!!
I hope some of that heavy construction equipment got fixed and will be sold. I'm not in a position to purchase, but that AC and that IH dozer/loader would be a God-send to someone in the trades/construction.

Could be for tax purposes but I’m know very little about taxes, also the views are pretty good. Or just everyone at once wants to sell their cars.
You know to stay away from an auction when the sellers says "I'm probably going to buy some of this stuff back because I don't want to get rid of it". Translates to. "I am going to up bid you so you pay more".
If he buys it back you aren't paying more because you don't get to own it, he has to make the highest bid to get it. If he just says "I'm going to bid on it also" then you would run the risk of being up bid. When it's consigned to an auction company he can't get it back without buying it back himself or replacing it with another vehicle, or vehicles, with the same estimated value so the auction company doesn't loss projected profits. Any loss they take on selling these vehicles can be written off on their taxes for all or some of the total loss so they aren't taking a hit on anything selling low, plus they've already gotten ad revenue from the shows when they did the builds so it won't be a total loss anyway.
I think his comment was innocent, but yeah the implication to the obverse are that bidders may get 'bid up' by him that 'can't see it go'.
or he might mean he wants to buy some of the stuff for his personal collection. None of these trucks are "his". They are owned by his shop and his shop has to try to make money off the things it builds.

Your channel is amazing! I get so stuck watching your videos. I am introducing you to my husband, he is totally going to be jealous! He has always been into 4 wheelers, big trucks, boats, trailers ect. But in 2010 my husband was a general contractor working on base at camp Pendleton in San Diego helping build the football field for the active soldiers coming back from Afghanistan. Unfortunately he was in a freak accident where he was pulled under a ditch witch and lost his right leg and they were able to reattach his left leg but has little use of it. He was only 25 years old when this happened. He means the world to our 4 children and I. He would go wild over all this stuff! You would be such a great mentor for my husband, you all are all just kind, caring and humble people and hopefully will get him back to life. He fought his workers comp case for 11 years and he just settled his case and is so ready to get back to leaving life!

I love what you do. However, if you're going to be bidding on your own stuff wouldn't that be the same, if not, worse than a reserve? I would just keep it or set a reserve on it rather than bidding on it. It could leave some with a sour taste in their mouth if they have to bid against you.

@@derekthomas2611 I've been a part of numerous auctions. I know how upset people get when they feel cheated. There is nothing worse than losing a bid to the seller of the item. It feels manipulative to most.
