My mom as a kid (at least 70 years ago!) got a dog. Her dad named it Boy. That way if he ended up stray somewhere, he'd follow anyone who said, "Here, boy!" Which was my Grandpa's secret wish. He hated the dog, and tried dropping it off near the golf course every few days. Then Boy would come home again. Glutton for punishment.
