No we Don't hate this culture we love it
Coin-toss resolves this
The guy is not joking. This is real. And even the methods. and no such thing as going Dutch, someone will pay, and pay for all. And will fight for the bill. The norm is the bathroom trick... pretend to go to the bathroom... pay the bill on the way :-)
Hussain Tutla its already pissed.
Yeah this trick is known now they have to change it loll
Hussain Tutla I was born in UK, people here disappear to the toilet or fake phone call to NOT pay the bill LOL
We actually watch who's pretending to go to the bathroom and stop them! "No, you can't go before me!" :)
Eastern Europeans are like that, too. 🤭
It's funny becouse it's true .. i just argued with my cousin who to pay the bill .. i am happy to tell you that i won
Hahahaha well actually he wonXD
"happy"
Hahaha congratulations
Hahaha. I so love learning about your culture. Congratulations on winning!!!
👏👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣
'I cancelled your credit card' 😂😂😂
So extra 🤣🤣🤣
they think we do this because we have a lot of money😂
poor people here more generous than rich people thats fact
Nashmi maN
Of course that what we do , it is original culture in Arabs
Well poor people are generally more generous, arab or not.
Abdulsalam Taleb wtf arabic culture
I’m Saudi and that’s soo trueee
LMAO THAT S WHY WE ARE POOR XD WE NEED TO CHILL SOMETIMES
yes we middle eastern people its world war 3 when it comes to bills
jade jaden 😂😂 same with Indian people.
jade jaden even me and my roomate fight over who pays the monthly bill
Cute Panda really? Can I be your roommate too 😂
Army!
Not only bills
"I hate my culture but I have to do it." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
this is the only part I find not to be true, having lived here in the Middle East for more than a decade now. it's quite genuine.
@@sidPalma He didn’t mean to say it’s not genuine. The same in Ethiopia, at least up to the millennial generation. It is genuine, of course, but there’s that element of bragging, establishing “a name” among your peers or family, worrying about how people see you more than your actual check book thing to it; I would assume it’s the same in most eastern cultures.
100% true
even in poor Arab countries , although they are poor but they also "fight for the bill" it is a kind of tradition that shows that you are generous.
it's Mehmed
He is not Arab, he is half Persian.
@@stefanogiordanengo6982 Why everyone like you against arab culture... The origin was always arab... its arabs who conquered these 2 countries & modified it & shared the culture... stop being intimidated everytime someone mentions arab... don't be jealous this is why Allah gave the Quran to Arabs not Persians or Turks... get educated.
It’s because a lot of people consider Iran in the Middle East that’s why he wrote Middle East but honestly North Africans countries don’t have this behaviour محمد رائد
Broman he’s Persians and that’s why he keep making Persian jokes. It’s because he knows the culture
My American husband had to learn very quickly that when my Jordanian dad says; "No, no, wallahi I pay", not to respond with; "Ok, thank you". 😂
SJA that’s hilarious!!!! I had to teach that to my dad!
"ok, thankyou" would be uncultured and disrespectful...even in India. Lol 😂
Made my day!!!
@@kirtikakaushik4164 also in Greece
I'd happily say "Ok, thank you" every single time, completely lose his respect, and save a shit-ton of money over the next 30-or-so years. Middle Easterners have such a primitive culture, it's not even funny. I live in Dubai, I know what I'm talking about.
Oh my Lord, yes! My Persian relatives have done this for years and my aunt just pulled the "pay when we walked in" on us last week! Hilarious!
you are too cute
Have a $100 bill where only the waiter can see it bill me you get this not . 😂
'I cancelled your credit card' is such a power move😂
This is very true, i have North African friends aswell as Middle Eastern and they also fight over the bill, some truly get disappointed if you pay twice.
You can see the disappointment in their eyes as they argue over the bill.
I guess it's not only a cultural thing but i think it's an Islamic cultural thing a good gesture in a way.
They also have to accept a gift even when they do not want it or need it but they have to accept a gift because it's disrespectful if they deny a gift.
Good folks.
Billie Hansen Yeah being generous is important in Islam as well as accepting gifts. You seem pretty cultured! :)
Billie Hansen the bill thing is not islamic its cultural and out of being generous. but the gift thing actualy islamic
Billie Hansen it was in arabs before islam
and then islam came and pushed it even further
the me You don't make sense because most Middle Eastern people and North Africans are not Arabs they may speak Arabic but that doesn't make them Arab.
This generous behaviour is definitely based on Islamic teachings.
Billie Hansen
arabs are the people of the desert
not the whole middle east
but when islam spread
so did the arabic culture
even to those who didn't embrace islam
the culture still spreaded due to the islamic empire
and due to that
there are 3 types of arabs
old extinct arabs:no longer exist
badou arabs:real original arabs
and arabised arabs:by race not arabs but they got their culture their language they bred with arabs and basicly they are arabs
the last makes the most of current arabs
but never the less
if islam didn't come
this habit wouldn't be this extreme to middle easterns
I never knew how awkward it is to fight over the bill until we did it once in Manchester. The waitress was so confused, I think she thought we didn't want to pay so we had to explain to her that we need a minute for bill fight 😂.
I'm Egyptian and that's so true, I remember going out with my cousins and shouting in the middle of the restaurant because I wanted to pay, we ended splitting for the sake of friendship 😂😂
Abeer hahahahhaha no stop. Egyptians never really mean it and always end up splitting. I am half Egyptian
Abeer ill never split it. Despite the chance of losing a friend.. :) i rather cancel the friendship just to pay that :) yyess am serious
arry starks lmaooooo yea seriously only my Coptic Egyptian friends genuinely wnna pay the bill. I’m Palestinian Muslim, I don’t have any Egyptian Muslim friends lmao
moe Gv Coptic or Not not important they all middle eastern
"lol splitting" cheapness intensifies cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap.
Coming from an Egyptian I am not surprised about the cheapness
I'm Greek and even though most people here are struggling financially what he says is 100% accurate.
That's not middle eastern.
@@nickiminajslefttoefoot1838 Greece are part of Mediterranean, that's why Arabs love Greece cause we share smiliar stuff.
True we also share similar dishes
@@nickiminajslefttoefoot1838 That's why he specifically said "I'm Greek". Don't worry, we're well aware of where our country is
Armenians as well 😂
God .. like how good looking is this guy??! 😍
IKR
Exactly my thoughts
Nasreen I was just saying the same thing!
[x] thirsty women
Nasreen he’s half Scottish and half Persian
So true! My grandma and dad recently fought for the bill!! You haven't seen a determined, tough Middle Eastern woman till you see a 70 something woman march across the restaurant and (lightly) shove her son-in-law to reach the bill.
That happens also when its time to clean dishes if we invite someone to lunch or dinner , it goes like that :
Mom : i will clean the dishes go have some rest
Aunt : no way i will clean the dishes
And this conversation will be like for a 15 minutes , then my mom finally convinces my aunt, then guess what happens, I I I I clean the fucking dishes , love from palestine
So true🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂🤣
that's exactly what happens to us all the time (Persians)
Same lol
It's either that or "my daughter will clean them" "no no!! MY daughter will"
I'm a waitress and this definitely happens. One guy gave me his credit card at the beginning of the meal and I had to hold onto it the entire time they ate and ordered more drinks so I never knew when to run it!
When my grandma, mum and I in the Taxi and it’s paying time...I think I saw fear in the guy’s eye’s 😂
Middle Eastern culture is lovely! People are kind generous and very hospitaliable! PEACE! IN THE MIDDLE EAST! ❤
So nostalgic! I'm Canadian, but this so resonates. As a kid, every time I went on a "fun" shopping day with my mother, grandmother and aunts, there was always a violent argument between them when the bill came for lunch, and it always upset me. Conflict stresses me. Once, as a teenager, I felt old enough and prosperous enough to interrupt and say, "I'll pay for it!". As a group, they all turned to me and angrily said, "Shut up!". No win!
And in Canada if we colored then they will watch us fight over as entertainment instead of calling the cops for the disturbance 😂
I remember my dad doing the bathroom trick so many times growing up just to pay the bill hahahaha btw I’m from Iraq 🇮🇶 😂😂
this is hillarious )))).. i'm arab and i feel it lmao
Otte Kalon go on then take me out for lunch, dinner and brekkie for the rest of my life... n i like diamonds too ;)
@محمد رائد ^^' With some arabs I've come across I'm not sure there is a difference
My Arabic freinds fight for the bill to pay . I'm Jewish, we fight before the bill comes and walk out. The last person still in the restaurant gets stuck with the bill.
ha!
jewish fight for the bill !!! that's weird !!
you got the money of all the world in your banks ,, and you still greedy omg hahahhaha
@@bestryfulhd2102 You could have said something nicer.
@@osamaroum its a racist thing thant the Nazis made up about the Jewish people
Jewish people have a thing that thay help the needed and thay also give in the bible 3/10 of all fruit and meat
Real shit I’m middle eastern, he is not lying 😂😂😂🧿
How can someone be so perfect !!! FUNNY AND HANDSOME AND CHARMING AND EVERYTHING!!!!
There's something majestic about him in that chair, don't you think? Greeks do that too, by the way, and they can be very loud about it!
I just find it endearing that older grown brothers go out to eat together as if they were younger!
My dad in his later life became more secluded, so I can't even imagine his scenario!
:) !!!
Lool my Asian parents do this too 😂
We all know they lowkey don’t wanna pay but gotta keep their pride up 😂😂
"I hate my culture but I have to pay" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 yes 100%
your card's not good here 😂😂😂
I love this! I only wish that Everyone was like that. It’s called generosity.
That's a mentality from Muslim-dominated countries. I am half-Afghan and that is so true :). I live in Germany and (at least) North European don't have this mentality.
Mary Idamha it’s true I’m half afghan and it’s the same 😂
Latinos fall in the same boat lmfao.
same here in pakistan :D
I live in greece and we totally do that every time!
same in india although its fading with the youth lol
I see this all the time at my job 😂😂
For Arab here how many you said i will go to WC and you go to get the bill before they send to table
Greeting from Egypt 🇪🇬
B. Ibrahim yea we do that
B. Ibrahim I did that lots of times 😂
lol my cuzin used this trick on me ..
he said he is going to washroom and i kept looking at him where is was sitting while he was goin washroom and when he was out of my sight i was like yep he is in washroom i relaxed but he paid when he came out...
so when we were eating the next time i used same trick i went to washroom when i come out i wemt to cashier and ask for bill she told me MY CUSIN ALREADY PAID WHILE I WAS I WASHROOM..
and my cuzin goes like: bro next time come up with new trick if u wanna pay 😅😅😅
hey non arabs do that too.
I knew it I work middle as a waiter in fine dining restaurants.. Exactly what he narrates everybody's wants to pay
lol we Chinese do that too , especially the northerners, sometimes you would see 2 people literally having a fight in front of a restaurant because they cant work it out who will has the honor to pay so they need to settle it outside lol
I am in North China and I can confirm. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This guys awesome !!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Love the "tank God" I'm Armenian n some of the stories from our elders are hilarious so I can relate to yr story.
Ayyyeee 🇦🇲
I hate fighting over the bill, it allways looks bad in restaurants, people will think you figthing for real especially if you speak your language
Thats exactly what happened to me last time with my cousin and i had to give up cause i noticed people freaking out around us lol but ...but ... but.. i lost 😥
كل زق
Stop being so insecure. Be proud of your culture and people
So true
Yes it's a highly common habit in our countries not because we are rich but i think it relate to being more generous...💛
ahahah. tank you! pick a show on www.kvon.tv and send ur friends then!
It's very true! We feel embarrassed when someone pays for us it's just irritating
More great half-Persian comedy K-Von, or half-comedy Persian.
As a middle eastern i confirm this.
"your money is no good here" and "he already payed" is soo true.
Funny thing is my friend and I argued in the cashier who’s paying to the point we both said if u charge mine I’ll pay 30% tip. Long story short he beat me by 70% tip. Worst night ever
As a far east asian, my family and cousins fight tooth and nail for the bill. It's very competitive. My feeling for it is that I want to take care and make sure the food is covered. Some sort of ingrained obligation my parents taught me when they fought over the bill with my uncles and aunts.
The amount of times me and my friends fight over the bill 😂😂♥️we owe each other thousands man.
LOL, my mom is half Lebanese and she has definitely threatened some of mine and my sister's friends with throwing a fork at them if they didn't let her pay the bill 😂 (Then again my dad also fights my sister and I about the bill and he's Jewish, but my mom is more forceful about it when she wants to be :P)
Lebanese always win🤣🇱🇧💪🏻
The more I watch, the more I laugh. K Von and Adam Schultz are two of my new favorites.
This is so true. I'm middle eastern 😂😂
In the Basque country we fight over who gets to pay too! I think it's hilarious when my uncles try to pay before the other
Ya we do this shit in Egypt and Saudi arabia
I live in both country 😂
I cancelled your credit card was the best part❤️ 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s 2021 and I’m loving Kvon! Keep us laughing! 💕
OMG that's my dad and mom it is soooo funny when the fight over the bill :)
I Love this routine. My dad and uncle did the same. They were brother in laws. We all lolled for 10 mins. Waitress enjoyed the show.
tear of joy... its what i have after this video
My culture is very similar, my parents were raised in Kosovo but we are Romani not Albanian. If all my relatives go out to eat it's a blood bath who gets to pay the bill my dad is the oldest of 6 siblings so he always wants to pay but his brothers won't let him so they have a debate on who gets to pay it's hilarious 😂
I only have friends of different ethnicities so when we go out to eat it's also a race who gets to pay 😂😂
Tanx God for food & family⚘
Yes in my country, we fight over the bill and if someone comes over to our house, no matter who, we must be hospitable by offering coffee and fruits and if the time is around lunch or dinner, we offer the meal too and we insist on the guest to dine with us, and we have a guest suite annexed to our house as we shouldn’t let guests stay in hotels when they come from far away .... in the original Arab culture, generosity is a sign of dignity that’s why they call generosity “KARAM” and dignity is “KARAMA” ... the habit is however fading in big cities and more observed in smaller villages and amongst the Bedouin (nomads).
so when I was younger on my first trip to USA, I insisted on the plumber who was sent by the landlord to fix the basin mixer to stay and have lunch with me, the guy backed up and had that weird look at me, later my friend told me I shouldn’t have done that and that the guy might have thought I was hitting at him... It was so embarrassing and I never told this to any one who knows me personally.
Same thing with us. My dad and I usually pay for everyone before they even think about paying.
It's funny that this is Chinese tradition too hahaha this remind me of my parents lol
Tanks to God I came across this comedian, this guy is hilarious without need to be nasty or cursing and it’s very refreshing! I’ve been watching different videos and I love the call back to the “tird” joke from a video I saw yesterday about his father.
"I canceled your credit card" HAHAHHAHAHaH I lost it there XD
tank you tank you!
pick a show on www.kvon.tv
😂. Thank you for lightening our lives with your talents.
hahahhaaaaaa my dad (Turkish) and my hubby (Australian) always bicker because my dad will keep fight over the bills ....he paid in advance last time we were in Turkey :P
Lily Adile Lamb loooooooool
Lily Adile Lamb Awesome.
turks are not generous sorry to say that only arabs do that😉
Sorry but we're generous, too. In my family everbody fight over bills on every occasions. My grandma vs her daughters, dad vs aunt's husband vs uncle, list goes on.
lebanon 97
I think we have lots in common.
This is SO true! I remember one time when my mom and grandma were fighting over paying for the others clothes (at the mall). My uncle swiped his card to pay when the wernt looking and they were both so mad 😂
I didn't even hear what he's saying , i only came because he's so cute 😜
That’s what she said
ممحونه؟ يختي
Okay we are gonna use you as "We are only watching because he's cute" button. 😂
How am I just discovering K-von comedy?? This guy needs to be everywhere!
I was laughing hystericaly until the end "you beat me twice but I win turd time" now that made me die
Haha it's so true and it's hilarious to watch when you're not a part of it 😂😂
I am only 1% middle eastern but this is the one percent I inherited. Fighting over the bill and being sneaky about it. My usual method is to scope out the place, pretend to use the restroom but instead pay the bill. Lol but the flaw is to never sit near the restroom
Blood mate blood lol
One percent? Wtf?
Omg true story: when i was a kid my dad used to give me his card and ask me to sneakily pay the bill then pretend to go to the washroom .
Ugh
We Greeks do it too. I remember the waiters in England always used to stare at us fighting about who will pay
That is so good. Me and my family love you K Von. The best family friendly comic of the age.
im a 13 year old girl thats persian and i once fought over the bill with my aunt
and it was over ice cream😂
hhhhhhhh LoL absolutely right we do that 😅 because your a guest and because generosity is a great moral in our culture.
We do that in Morocco too haha it's really true.. People i swear are fighting to pay, don't ever wait behind an Arab when he's going to pay the bill, it's gonna take a lot of time haha
Kvon FTW! I just love ‘em smart Persian people. Too much, really. They are FAM like I never saw before
Honestly, my mom has this argument with EVERYONE!! There are some points where she just looks at me and then I'm recruited to help convince them to let her pay.
my dad and late uncle did this. we enjoyed the scene created at the restaurant. the waitress was all smiles.
He looks like Jensen Ackles
K von you have to come here and watch the real fights over bill
with love from Tehran ❤️
I remember that I had to empty my friends wallets before we go out and hidden thier money at thier place... When the bill came all of them rushed to pull thier wallets while I took my time... U should seen the look in thier faces it was priceless 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks god for everything 😊🙏
As a Persian Armenian. This is the usual in my family
This is a nice tradition! A tradition of generosity, nice ✨
Same as Asians to "save face", especially the older generations. It gets very strategic...just the same.
My friend does the same thing! Oh my gosh I can't pay for anything when I go out with him!!😂
honestly, the bill fact always embarrass me and i'm stressed even before the meeting thinking of the fight that will happen at the end !!!! loooool that's sound weird for Europeans !
Andrew Smith hahahah europeans ask for a separated bill :p even if they are a couple :) lebanese ppl call it british bill hahah
www.kvon.tv i just posted three more europe shows and australia !!!
Speak for your country, cause the Balkans fight for the bill just the same. You know the Balkans are in Europe and not in Africa, right? Some Western Europeans know nothing about Eastern Europe but still like to make general statements about Europe, just lovely.
Oh I'm sorry, are you from the UK? Please say sorry to your superior fellow British who hate us inferior Bulgarians, I'm sooo sorry we cause all this trouble stealing your jobs. Since some belittle us so much about being toilet cleaners we never guessed you were so hurt about us oh so malevolently stealing your jobs. Oh and yes of course Bulgaria is in Africa, you guys are the ones who build an empire all around the world so if you say it's in Africa then it's in Africa. My apologies. I mean we did move here in 680 to establish yet another Bulgarian country but we're so inferior we never realized this is Africa haha!
@@essennagerry I am greek but it's not only the Balkans, I would say more meditteranean countries, Spanish and Italians do that too. In the balkans we have it on a totally another level.
A fresh voice with a good mix of
material and style.
That was awesome!
Because I am Iranian and I know exactly what you mean. Paying for someone else is like a Social Currency.(Check out Jonah Burger's book)

So freaking true
In Iran, there is a rule of "tarof" that when a person wants to give you something as a gift or food,... You MUST refuse at first then he will ask you again and again, finally analyze what he thinks deeply and if he really wants you to have it or not, then make decision to accept or not. A bit confused at first but you will learn by striving😂😂😂
My favorite clip of all time because it is relatable across all Middle Easterners. 🤣🤣🤣
This is so true we love to pay and my belgian friends find it so weird and are always shocked if I offer to pay because they are not used to it
i let u win!!! if we eat
ps: full 1hr special is on www.kvon.tv
Busra Carmel We need that more in America. Everyone’s too cheap to pay for another person. It’s like, if you have a job and earn money, it should be no problem. I’d understand if they’re broke or something, but regardless if they have a job, it’s like “You’re an adult! Pay for yourself!” Jeez, selfish cheap people invade US.
Just an amazing character development. Middle Eastern are just 🔥🔥
THIS IS SOOO TRUE OMG.
Loved it. So funny
Lol 😂 it’s very true, we do it all the time. One time my brother was paying and I snatched the card from the cashier’s hand and gave her mine. She was laughing, so I was like maybe she watched this show before lol 😂
