@Commie Dog42 yeah what’s your point? That I copied it down in quotation marks and got 2K completely unearned undeserved likes? If it’s any consolation to your offended sensibilities I wasn’t trying to steal anyone’s thunder, I was just stoned and elated enough to share my favorite line. It might not be formatted in “standard” MLA but I’m clearly not claiming the joke as my own.
Worst case scenario would be giving this dude unhelpful negative and or cryptic feedback like you gave me. But if anything Drew Barth can look through the comments section and see that this is one of his jokes people are having an especially positive response to.

I know this is an old standup but I really hope Drew feels better soon and that he'll feel well enough to return to standup in the new year.

im so glad he ripped into ‘chocolate diamonds’. its exactly right.
china can synthesise diamonds far cheaper than they can be mined and processed, so all the rough manky diamonds that used to be used on drill bits and saw blades are now being sold to the public as illustrious sounding chocolate, charcoal, champagne, etc.
black diamonds are even worse. theyre so riddled with flaws and inclusions that they have to be radiated until they turn opaque black, so you cant see into the stone.
but hey, it carries the buzzword diamond at least, right?
