If the problem still, please let us know your order number via email to service@gamingcobra.com, we will send you the replacement of the flex for you to try again, thanks
@Sauce guy Problem is still from the orange flex connection, you have to align it correctly and then fix the screw on the controller mainboard firmly. When you press L3 the L2 reacts, because the orange flex moves when you give pressure on the mainboard, and the L2 connection point on the flex thinks you were pressing it.
If you just want back buttons only you might be better off with the v1 mod kit, or yeah you could install this without the trigger stops. The v1 kit combined with the clicky kit is a fantastic combo
by the way I hope the back button switches can be replaced with higher quality, one of my v1 buttons stopped working after 2 month then I replaced a same new one.
I am getting some very strange glitches after installing. Can you recommend what to do? Glitch #1. My L3 button now seems to be crossed/combined with L2. Every time I press L3, it is as if I am pressing L2 and L3 at the same time. Even if I unmap my L3 button to nothing in game, pressing it still seems to trigger a L2 press. I thought my original controller was broken, so I installed the remap kit on another controller, and same thing. I did not solder the L3 and R3 wires to the motherboard, and neither back button was mapped to L3 or L2. Glitch #2. I tried mapping my right back button to left on the D-pad, which temporarily breaks that button on my controller, left on the D-pad won't work, and the back button won't work. The weird thing is even after resetting/unmapping the right back button or mapping it to another button, it takes a long time every time before the left on the D-pad button starts working again. Sometimes it has been 15 minutes, sometimes it has been hours. Not even pressing the reset button on the back of the controller fixes it. It will just start working again on it's own at some random time in the future. Only seems to happen with that left d-pad button specifically.
I took apart and reassembled the remap kit from scratch, and tested the buttons on PC. Now pressing L3 causes L3, L1, and R1 to all press simultaneously. And moving around the right analog stick triggers L2 to also constantly register. The FPC board looks lined up perfectly, and this is a brand new controller. Is it possible it is a faulty FPC bord? I can confirm once I unhook the FPC board, every button functions as it should.
The problem must be from the orange flex. 1. it should be aligned correctly; 2. you have to fix the screw on the mainboard of the controller firmly. Please check the above problem. If the problem stand still, please check if the 2 holes on orange flex was deformed, if so, please let us know.
@@ExtremeRate I am certain I have it aligned correctly, and the flex cable looks okay. Though it does have a crease in it where it would of bent over to the other side of the motherboard, could that be causing the problem? I have re-tried installing many times now, and it is the same every time, some buttons will work, some wont, and some buttons are as if they are permanently pressed down, with different combinations of buttons working or not working with each attempt. Is it possible I can purchase just the flex cable?
@@leeleptus Please let us know your order number via email to service@gamingcobra.com with your shipping address and UA-cam name, we will send you a new flex cable to try
@@ExtremeRate Just an update. I received the replacement flex cable, was getting the same problems. So I replaced the board with one of the extremerate V1 boards (just removed the 2 extra buttons) I had installed on another controller, and that fixed it. So it was a faulty board causing the glitching, not the flex cable.
I've got both and can't get away with the circle ones, the original buttons feel much better to me. In the Dawn 2.0 you get both circle and older style to use
Just finished mine. * Some advise* be careful with installation. All the ribbons from your controller are fragile. You can't screw all the screws in or the analog stick will get stuck or it will unplug a ribbon cable. You'll also need to find a sweet spot for every outer screw, the buttons/ analog stick will get stuck otherwise.
Do you mean the lightbar does not turn on? And for the charging problem, have you tried to connect the controller with your console via USB cable and check the screen immediately, if the controller starts charging, there will be a battery icon show up on the left-top of your screen. @Sauce guy Problem is still from the orange flex connection, you have to align it correctly and then fix the screw on the controller mainboard firmly. If I'll cut R3 AND L3 I can't use anymore? I mean I don't what sold them
You can solder the wire back to the PCB when you need them
I am getting some very strange glitches after installing.
Is there any way you guys can make round buttons for the 4 button dawn remap kit? I would definitly buy a set.
I've got both and can't get away with the circle ones, the original buttons feel much better to me. In the Dawn 2.0 you get both circle and older style to use
We may think about it
I personally prefer the old one because it looks better than the round one :)
Thanks for your advice!!!!
