Mike, you make me feel like I can do anything you make me want to really work hard to achieve my goal. Thanks for inspiring me to do things that are unimaginable! Thanks you are such a great role model and my greatest influence!
There is a challenge at my Boy Scout camp where you had to swim across the lake and back four times (1 mile) and the lake has a cold spring under so the lake is freezing and few complete it each year. You inspired me to take it on
This has actually inspired me to want to swim and learn how to swim. My technique in the water is about as close as a stapler flailing around in the water. But seeing Mike learn and become more efficient in swimming has gotten me motivated to pick up swimming again.
This has to be your best video yet considering the fact that all your videos are brilliant but this is a whole new level. Keep learning , Keep inspiring Mike :)) PS - I am afraid of the water, But I am going to learn how to swim now thank you :))))
Mike I even don’t know you or subscribed to your channel, however, I felt so happy for you to achieve your goal of crossing 1 mile. You are such an inspiration to the others, wish you all the best.
Average Mike. What a great idea your channel is... Thanks Mike. The reminder of Kennedy's speach was just what I needed today. Congrats on swimming the channel. 1 mile in those conditions is really doing something.
Mike, I have an idea for a video. Learn to do a firewalk! It's really dangerous tho so make sure you consult with someone who knows what they're doing before attempting it. like this comment if you agree. (Also this way he'll have gone to the extremes of the temperatures)
its not that stupidly dangerous, as long as you get your wick on, and dont dawdle. but dont run, or you'll be mashing the embers into your feet. as long as you wait for the fire to burn down, the embers will be covered in ash, which is a great insulator. and foot skin is pretty strong, as long as you go out oftn, and use it.
Its not that hard I did it when I was 7 but first i put my feet in cold water and then in sand. It didn't hurt at all but would I do it again? Hell no, now its scary lol but with right mindset everyone can do it
WELL DONE - HIGHLY INSPIRATIONAL - Your video was recommended to me when I mentioned (on fb) that I might learn to swim and swim the channel on my 70th birthday (nearly 3 years away).
Hey mike, I use to swim completely and would like to offer some advice if you continue swimming. You are crossing your arms over the center of your body. This greatly reduces the power you get from each stroke. To be the most efficient you want to make ever stroke stronger. You can measure your practice by trying to get the least amount of strokes in a length of the pool. Love the videos, love swimming, hope to see more.
Man I feel cold just watching this. I jumped into a fjord in New Zealand (water was in in the low 40s I only know this because there was “reverse aquarium” which had a thermometer) and it cuts right through you. Your body goes into shock so fast. I literally jumped in, regretted it instantly and swam back. Was probably in there for like 10-15sec. Respect.
Well done Mike. In my opinion your real achievement is your swimming technique. Nobody I have seen as attend such a beautiful technique in such a short space of time full stop that is the real achievement. You are teachable.
This is great, I kinda felt the victory with you, congratulations. Your videos make me think that maybe I should put more challenge in my life back, like you're doing. Thank you for sharing your motivation with us.
Also very good technique remember to reach all the way out on your stroke Head looks at the ground this will make you more aerodynamic Manual is also big SAY POSITIVE
I am currently in a room at 26 degrees celsius. Your videos gave me chills. It was really satisfying to see you achieve that amazing goal. Well played!

Mike, you make me feel like I can do anything you make me want to really work hard to achieve my goal. Thanks for inspiring me to do things that are unimaginable! Thanks you are such a great role model and my greatest influence!
I would like to see you do an iron man marathon
you're confusing an iron man with a marathon an iron man is i think about 3.5km swimming 180km biking and them a marathon(42km)running
@@josi2842 Exactly he was training to swim and I suggested for him to take one step further to train for the Iron man Marathon
Brute forcegt but the iron man is one thing and a marathon is another thing
yeah the iron man is super hardcore
@@josi2842 iron man consists of 3 sport marathons, what's wrong with you
Mike start learning drifting in a car? Plus love you vids....I knew you when you had 100 thousand subs
I would love to see him become a drift god

Seeing you reach the end of the river brought me to tears. You're an inspiration Mike. Please never stop being you.
There is a challenge at my Boy Scout camp where you had to swim across the lake and back four times (1 mile) and the lake has a cold spring under so the lake is freezing and few complete it each year. You inspired me to take it on
Chris Last name did you make it?
You sir, just achieved to be apart of my inspirations. I am so glad I subscribed a year ago. You're amazing.
This has actually inspired me to want to swim and learn how to swim. My technique in the water is about as close as a stapler flailing around in the water. But seeing Mike learn and become more efficient in swimming has gotten me motivated to pick up swimming again.
9:22 perfect timing for a shark to jump out of the water and eat him! Hahahah!
This has to be your best video yet considering the fact that all your videos are brilliant but this is a whole new level. Keep learning , Keep inspiring Mike :))
PS - I am afraid of the water, But I am going to learn how to swim now thank you :))))
Zohaib Akhter More power to you man :)
Mike I even don’t know you or subscribed to your channel, however, I felt so happy for you to achieve your goal of crossing 1 mile. You are such an inspiration to the others, wish you all the best.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍your the sort of person people look up to
Man, You're Great! You can do anything!!♥️
Hell no, now its scary lol but with right mindset everyone can do it
They check you for static electricity before entering the factory
WELL DONE - HIGHLY INSPIRATIONAL - Your video was recommended to me when I mentioned (on fb) that I might learn to swim and swim the channel on my 70th birthday (nearly 3 years away).
Hey mike, I use to swim completely and would like to offer some advice if you continue swimming. You are crossing your arms over the center of your body. This greatly reduces the power you get from each stroke. To be the most efficient you want to make ever stroke stronger. You can measure your practice by trying to get the least amount of strokes in a length of the pool. Love the videos, love swimming, hope to see more.
subbed. this guys a pretty chill dude.
watching you complete these tasks with such determination makes me push myself harder with regular stuff like school and such
After 2 years, I still come back to this video for inspiration
YOU HAVE TO TRY A TRIATHLON
try a TRYathlon
Every triathlon racer says this :P
I can barely take a shower correctly
Nyla Janae this made me giggle way to much
I know. The weird thing is, I get this involuntary urge to sing.
I can't even take a shower correctly, I think there's still shampoo in my hair
You need to practice more then once a month to get it right
@@lnopia oh... so that's where I went wrong.
Respect.
Well, I never thought of myself as someone who'd say they idolise someone. But that seems to have changed.
Just 10 mins before vid was uploaded but I didn't even get a notification,it just popped up on my home page.
Yessss,😀😀😀😁😁😁😁😄😄😄

Well done Mike. In my opinion your real achievement is your swimming technique. Nobody I have seen as attend such a beautiful technique in such a short space of time full stop that is the real achievement. You are teachable.
Average Mike's mindset is far from average.
I love how his brother is one of my physics teachers!!
Man I've watched like 50 of your videos in the past week, but this is the only one that made me tear up. Way to go man.
1:06 there’s a freaking whale, dolphin or large fish
damn.
It's a river, it's not a dolphin or a whale
Connor Ferguson I’m from Dundee and it’s definitely a dolphin they are everywhere in the tay
Connor Ferguson how is it a river THERE IS A FUCKING FINNNNNNN
You get them a lot in Scotland, particularly the firth of Clyde. 🏴
Man your amazing I mean the dedication you put in this is just amazing. Godbless🙏
This is great, I kinda felt the victory with you, congratulations. Your videos make me think that maybe I should put more challenge in my life back, like you're doing. Thank you for sharing your motivation with us.
Mike:this is gonna be easy.
Cold water:im bout to end this mans whole career.
Also very good technique remember to reach all the way out on your stroke
Head looks at the ground this will make you more aerodynamic
Manual is also big SAY POSITIVE
He was going a bit slow though
Hydrodynamic not aerodynamic
I am currently in a room at 26 degrees celsius. Your videos gave me chills. It was really satisfying to see you achieve that amazing goal. Well played!
Your accent is just golden!
Mike, Im dying to know what that song is after 8:52 I love it so much, I love the video too but this eating me up inside its so good.
Same, please someone mike or whoever tell us!

Ronnie Eriic almost certainly ripped the instrumental from the other video that Mike did with this song in. This time Mike dropped a fair bit more of the track and I neeeeeed to know what it is.
Hey! Thought I might help you out as I spent quite a while tracking down this song from the last video Mike used this in. The song name is "The Long Walk" by Jimmy Whalsteen. You can find it on Epidemic Sound.
jurgen951 OMFG DUDE I LOVE YOU! Seriously, holy crap...im about to cry. Thank you so much for all your effort!
wtf i can't believe I cried for this, all those support given when Mike's facing his hardest challenge in the water is really touching.
I'm super proud of you Mike
Watching this makes me feel cold
Just discovered you as I'm just trying to take up open water swimming and struggled from the cold. Now I've found the answer and found a brilliant new channel to binge. Mike, you are brilliant 👍
