You get two things from comparison: pride or insecurity.

6:21 if anyone is curious where exactly Sarah-Beth is referencing the verse in Corinthians about comparison, I found it: it’s 2 Corinthians 10:12 😁

This has touched me so much. I've been struggling with this for the longest, the world can never satisfy but for some reason we seek its validation. I pray deliverance from comparison all 2024! I'm so sad this wasn't longer, it really spoke to my heart.

Here are a few scriptures that have helped me greatly to grow in gratitude for Jesus' sacrifice for my sins; past, present, and future:
      - "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:6-8
      - "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death." - Romans 8:1-2.
      - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, [they are] a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them." - 2 Corinthians 5:17-19.
      - "Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - Hebrews 10:19-25
      - "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20
My greatest advice I can give you is to look to and listen to Jesus! Who does scripture reveal Him to be? What does His love look like? What does scripture say about His love for you? How does it feel to receive His love? How does that influence you, your actions (the way you live), and the way you look at Him and the way you treat other people (whom He also died for and loves dearly)?
      Read John 8:1-11.
Ask God to increase your ability to be loved by Him. This comes through inviting Him into every depth of your pain, shame, and misunderstanding and asking Him to fill those places in your heart with healing, freedom, and clarity motivated by His love.
I'd incline you to read all of Psalm 139, but these two verses (23 and 24) have been extremely helpful to me the past two years: "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
I pray all of this helps you! Jesus heals. Jesus frees. Jesus SAVES!
