I love that emphasis on if we love him we will obey his commands. It’s a strange concept at first but the root of it is true for any intimate relationship. If your significant other tells you what their love language is, or things that hurt them, you make an effort to do the things that speak to their love language and avoid doing the things that hurt them.

God has been asking me to really make Him the Lord of my life, instead of just calling Him “Lord” but ignoring His lordship. Such a big lifestyle shift comes with tons of questions, and what Aaron and Elyssa talked about is so helpful for the questions I’ve been asking the Lord. I am so grateful for this session! Jesus Christ (the eternal existing son of God) came to earth and was crucified on the cross of cavalry for the remission of humanities sins, he was then buried and raised from the dead on the 3rd day, the only way to have salvation (to be justified in the eyes of God and have eternal life) is to believe this gospel message, you cannot earn this and you cannot lose it. If you reject this gospel message you are rejecting the testimony that God gave of his son Jesus Christ according to the scriptures and you are choosing with your own free will to perish in the lake of fire for eternity. No other religion / no other world view or belief will save you, only Faith in the blood of Jesus Christ has the power to redeem your soul. The gospel can be found explicitly outlined in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.
