If you have a ship worth millions or tens of millions of units that you can scrap, do it. You'll be able to do a bunch of ship scrap missions for other Autophage camps without needing to leave. Start the mission, wait a moment, and you should see a message in the top left that will show a green check mark
Other Autophage missions include minerals like phosphorus or scrapped metal or runaway mould
Before I scrapped the ship I completely repaired it. I did at least one more of the missions. Not sure how many more I could have done.
I waited and nothing happened. It's supposed to show me a crashed ship on my beacon but nothing. What do I do.
@@vinceamal1015 Sometimes I have to reload the game for the ship to show up. Sometimes there's just not a ship there and I have to find a different location.

Nicely done Beeblebum! One thing that I ran into that is worth sharing, when I got to the stage to scrap a ship, my ship inventory was already full. Every site I showed up at no matter which system showed the icon for where the ship should be but it was invisible. I was ready to exchange a ship, but I could never see it to even engage. So I just went up to the Space Station and sold the ship I was going to trade anyway and that completed the quest, similar to what you said about selling any ship. Just another small gotcha
Some landing pads are empty, as there are normally the spawning points for when you start a new game. You will notice the Beacon is different (small Atlas orb inside) and there are 4 oxygen plants near it.
So the best thin is indeed either scrap a ship you own, or buy one and scrap that.

Thank you came back after a while and saw people with the staff. Was asking hiw to unlock and they would start me with the dissonance part. No one told me I had to beat the story first.

I was able to access the new autophage camp and sentinel ships but ive never finished the trace of metal campaign. I had to use the echo thing in a dissonant galaxy with a yellow sun. Good lord, hello games! Making us travellers work!

So I been following this video, got to the point were I had to return to Nada, but they told me to speak to Polo and I shared my exosuit info with them, and now it's saying go find an Echo Seed. The construct you speak to isn't there for me :s Hope I didnt mess up! Edit: nvm after taking the echo seed to Polo I awaken the construct :D
I started a new save and for me the they who returned quest popped up together with the a trace of metal quest simultaneously so I think it might just be the main story line? I did find the harmonic camp before it tho.
So in my experience you only need to have a settlement cuz I just got one only build the overseer building then left and when I was finished with Artemia quest line the echos quest line started even tho I didn’t do the trace of metal quest for settlement yet so I don’t think you need to do trace of metal cuz I haven’t yet I’m doing echos rn
Hmmm I wonder how the staff would work in vr . I just got my first sentinel ship and noticed ppl with start. Are they just multi tools? Would be weird for Vr since only flatscreen you you’re constantly having it touch the ground lol
Great guide, thanks B! I pulled up my big save for this since my pirate save hasn’t done any of the original quests. Interestingly the Atlas and other early quest still show in my log, although I have the recipes for the Atlas seeds etc. Is this normal? They don’t disappear from the log after completion?
The Atlas Path seems to be a quest that returns in your mission log - If I recall correctly, it gets triggered every time you travel or warp to another Galaxy.. But I can't remember.
If you got the seeds, there is no use in redoing the Atlas path again.. But Its pretty annoying if you are like me and don't want anything in your mission log.. lol

I started the settlement story (only remember the drone sentinels and no robot but I shot them from my ship) but Thetys never only asked me to help him get back to the anomaly and the trace of metal quest isn't in my log
I probably did the talk with the drone but got no monolith. I just can give him some Atlantidium as only methode than he just say some codes but nothing more? I cant get a marker for a monolith
I've been to 2 harmonic camps and spoke to the broken robot and all he says is "the third 1001001" and there's no other prompts to choose from, this has happened both times. Why won't he trigger the quest?

Did you get the transmission in space first? The one where the autophage tries to take over your ship.
Does anyone know the coordinates and runes for this exact ship? I already have a similar one but this is the 1st time I see it

Got the "They Who Returned" questline without ever completing a settlement. Not sure if that's misinformation or it changes in the last couple months.
You do not need to complete the settlement... As stated at 0:57 you need to complete "Trace of Metal" which is linked to having a settlement.
Maybe you can answer this question seems nobody else can including hello games. Ok the echos uodate before it came out I finished then2 main story lines and was messing around in a new galaxy. I did the settlement stuff as well and made my minotaur a sentinel. Well added the parts to him. Anyway with no settlement missions for a bit than the echos came out. My issue is it won't start. Even after this last patch uodate 4.44 still nothing. I was told go to a dissonant planet but than what? What do I do? Has to me more than just go to a system? Thank man for all the great videos
Hey Brian, Normally, as explained in the video you should complete 3 conditions.
If you are done with both the Artemis/Apollo story and You completed Trace of Metal, then the final thing is to unlock a Harmonic Camp.
If you already did all that - this should trigger the echoes mission.
In the video description I have shared several links to guides that explain both the Trace of Metal and how to unlock a harmonic camp.
@Beeblebum yeah that's the weird part I've done the main missions both of them did the the metal quest all that the harmonic camp has never shown triggered. I went well over 1000 light years away from my settlement to a dissonant system in space nothing triggered. Do I need to find a planet with high dissonant sentinel activity and land? So confusing I appreciate all your help I subscribe to alot of people on UA-cam you are the only one I turn the notifications one for hope it helps you out

Question what if the things to be like the mission to make your minotaur a sentinel I did before the update. So how do I start the echos uodate
It really does not matter when you completed all 3 quests - as long you did them, it should trigger with your first warp.
@Beeblebum yeah sadly it's not I've been getting more living ships and living frigites but nothing saying anything about the echos storyline

Interesting. I've seen a few different claims as to what triggers the new content, still not sure what is true. I have done the three things you mentioned (a long time ago) and warped a bunch of times since the update, but the quest still hasn't popped.
The quest started for me when I used an Echo Locator
It seems to be completing the main quest and warping to a dissonant galaxy
And using an echo locator to find a camp at some point
I had the same thing happen to me on a save that had over 300 hours on it. I even had an Interceptor ship. Turns out I had to go to the Autophage camp and unlock the seal after one of the last updates. When I did that again the next warp I made the mission started. It'd be nice if I had known that before warping all of those times.

You don't need to do the settlement missions, at least I didn't have to.
Not sure if i blocked myself from starting Echoes.
Did everything, (i think) except "The Purge".
From the finished Voyagers Redux save file.
I used the 12 Jellyfish to Portal to 5K ish from Galaxy Core.
Started warping, ended up right beside Atlas Core, but only 6/16 Glyphs recognized.
(Had all glyphs of course from Voyagers Redux)
So, i warp to Galactic Core.
End up on a planet...
With "1/16" as the point of mission
So my question is...do i need to go back to Euclid, and warp 15 times, then teleport to galactic core adjacent base to warp 1 more?
Edit: does it make a difference that i removed the Sentinel AI Pilot thing from my Sentinel Minotaur??
That thing roaming around is about as useful as a helmet on a baseball
Hey, When you warp to a new universe, the warp counter gets reset.
You should normally be able to warp 15 more times in the new Universe you are now to get all glyphs and complete that mission.
Concerning your Mech - If you completed the Trace of Metal quest, it should not matter what you do after wards with your Minotaur.

I did figure it out. Went back to euclid. Warped 14 times. Switched ship and MT. Reset Sim.
Echoes started.
Got 3 staffs now. 2 are A Class. Workin on appearance modifiers now :)
7 months later and i still cant get this fucking mission or any new mission to fucking start i completed all main missions years ago please dont tell me i have to start a new save because i will drop this game like a fast ball hitting bare hands

My trace of metal has bUGGED out. I cant finish the story because one last sentinel wont spawn in. I saw it floating while in my ship but I couldnt shoot it. Pretty annoying
Did the Sentinel spawn inside the terrain or building? Or is it like far away?
I had that happen to me as well..
As far as I know, you should be able to restart that part of the quest when reloading... Been a while tbh.

It might have been a good idea to show that..
Each staff head has a different animation (or no animation) but the beams or bulllets are the same as you would use a Multitool.
When I make an updated version for these Staffs, I sure remember showing it. 👍

Dude I’ve been trying to complete the main story for years and it’s so god damn bad, does anyone know of a glitch or a bug that allows me to get around all that? I have absolutely no interest in No Mans Sky’s story. I just love the gameplay.
