    Love the view. Reminds me of my days doing Chicago work. Nice job on the torch with the high-content silver rod, too. Good call as you needed all the capillary action you could get in that tight space. Silver loves to flow like lead does.
    Too bad the compressor ate itself...you'd be the weekend hero otherwise.

    The paste flux and bare roll of 56% is my go to and is way easier to use, especially in a situation like this. No messing around with not being able to bend the rod or the flux flaking off
    Get yourself some 1/2" or even 3/4" evacuation hoses with core removal tools, makes repairs/service on VRF go way quicker/smoother.

    I appreciate the heart dropping moment when the old compressor was locked but that sol valve will almost certainly be leaking by. I'd be very surprised if it could withstand that heat and not sustain damage to the seal inside. Not sure why it needs additional oil either but best check the manual before going ahead especially if it's not the exact same oil as the pre-charged new compressor.
    Running the new compressor with a suspect bypass valve is 'brave' imho.
    That said IF I understand correctly, (?)
    I was also quite surprised you managed to buy a new tablet, then get a new compressor installed on the Monday and get the system up and running by the afternoon. I assume you had to reclaim the whole charge How long was the pressure test, how long was the vacuum.
    anyhoo it's always a sweet moment when it finally fires up.

    This might be late, but I use to share a LGMV module with a co-worker and we would constantly run into that "Time out issue". What seemed to work for us was after disabling "switch to mobile data", completely power cycling the system seemed to solve it. Also while there arent sight glasses on the compressors, there are oil sensors that you can view on the LGMV app under "cycle & valves info" for each compressor, where if its green it has an appropriate amount of oil and if its grey the system will use its "smart oil management" to try and get the oil back to the compressor. Lg recommends enabling forced oil return on systems where compressors died due to low oil or unknown causes. Ive only really worked on Multi V 5s so im not sure how this translates to 4s. I think it should be the same , but thought it would be helpful to pass off anyways. I enjoy the content, keep it up man

It’s pretty disappointing to see the units, which I’m sure they paid a pretty penny for and to install, fail at the rate they are. Makes me want to avoid any LG hvac products. Sorry, I didn't understand after minute 27, did the compressor break down, did you change it? Or did you just add oil that's why I set the error code? And do you activate the sensors with the tablet? could you make a video using Yellow Jacket Max-flow Deluxe?

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  7 місяців тому +1

      I did all the work to fix the leak, but upon start up, the compressor gave off high amps and tried a few times. Locked rotor and gave up the CH26 error code. The compressor failed at that moment. I also couldn't connect my phone to the unit using the LGMV. That was on Saturday. I returned Monday to replace the compressor and inverter board. I also bought a tablet, and was able to connect it that day. Unit started right up, and i was able to control & monitor the entire unit with the LGMV tool and my tablet. We need to come back to replace the solenoid valve so they don't have another major failure. I can make a video using the yellow jacket max flow deluxe the next time I use it 👍 Thanks for watching!

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  7 місяців тому +1

      Considering we had a CH42/CH43 error code, that should have shut down the compressor to protect it. Also the compressor has an oil control to protect it which should have not allowed the compressor to start. Electrically testing the unit came up as a positive, those errors should have protected the compressor but it didn't. Can't start a compressor with no refrigerant. The compressor checked electrically but failed mechanically

    This place is a friggin gold mine!!! I’m just certain now there must be something fundamental going on that’s causing all these compressors to go down. Unless it’s an LG thing 😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  7 місяців тому +2

      Unfortunately but fortunately, it is 😂 Somehting crazy is definitely going on. Given the CH42/CH43 error code for low pressure/high pressure sensor & the compressor giving good readings electrically, that compressor shouldn't have failed. There's also oil sensor on the compressor that should have shut it down as well. Something is fundamentally wrong for sure. Another subscriber mentioned it could use a possible software update and there might be a bug in the program. Definitely something I will need to look into. So many failures. Thanks LG! 😂 Thanks for watching brother 🙏🤙🔧⚡️

    • @bohanger6315
      @bohanger6315 7 місяців тому +1

      Pressure drop across those suction driers isn't helping oil return due to lower refrigerant velocity, high superheat due to the loss of refrigerant from the leaks, mechanical heat from oil loss, low air flow at the IDU's as shown in other videos. This site is basically worst case for the equipment. You would think the software would protect the compressors but I've seen to many fail to believe those protections always work. The damage happens quick and the unit waits too long, tries too many times, running oil return cycles and limiting inverter speed on discharge temp when it should just lock out. Looks like the customer is in a bad spot, but in better hands now if they can cough up some cash.
