When you said it would be your last video I flew into a panic and began to hyperventilate. Thanks for clearing that up before I passed out. You have a lot to teach us all.
Don’t even joke.. had a long day with an apprentice. Watching your videos has always been a great source of training delivery techniques. It’s a bit of an art and not everyone is meant to be a mentor. Your delivery is on spot and you’ve helped me in that area, so just imagine the panic!
One of the most important things I think you teach in your videos is do the job right the first time. There are no shortcuts. Long time follower. Keep up the good work. Anxious to see the final home. System recap.
You had me on that intro! I have learnt so much from you. I am not a HVACR tech but I have worked around building and process control air conditioning for much of career so have that intellectual curiosity for the troubleshooting/repair processes. My biggest surprise was how bad those kitchen fridges look! I couldn’t work on them. Take care
It’s been years since my last procon pump replacement, but I learned to always buy new flare to pipe thread adapters to thread into the new pump. I got my lunch ate trying to break loose the old fittings off the old pump on the first procon pump I ever replaced
Scrap guy here, I've opened hundreds of motors and compressors at this point. You can tell when a motor has been overheating because the windings will be a lot darker. Compressors with bad starting components that have burned out due to them the rotor often times will have turned blue from overheating!
Im a controls service tech, graduated in 2022 with an associates in HVACR, it’s nice to watch your videos giving a lot of insight to things im not doing day to day. It helps keep my brain flowing with knowledge of things i learned back in school. Keep it up man, love the channel and watch every night you drop a video.
Very funny i have been in this business 41 years I have not met many techs that cared about more than money I do enjoy watching your videos you scared me for a sec 🙃
7:12 I can relate my parents didn't change a cabin air filter since brand new of the car. The motor I took apart the motor from the car's hvac system it was night and day different when I replaced it. The filter is also replaced. While I was typing this car's hvac and you in the trade of hvac that something.
Panicked for a sec, I've looked up to you ever since I got into the industry as a resi tech. Now Ive moved into strictly refigeration. Keep up the awesome videos and work
Another great video and yes I recall the very first beer cooler video. If you ever have a call back in the desert, reach out, I would love to come up there and meet you.
I am not in the industry, but I find refrigeration, HVAC fascinating. I see the gray coming in over the years. Welcome to the club my friend. Keep up the great content!
With great content comes great responsibility!😁😎 I'll admit, I panicked too! Relief when you said you were joking! I watch a lot of UA-cam, your channel is in the top 3 that I always look forward to. If you quit tomorrow, you owe us nothing, but you'd be sorely missed!!✌🏻🤘🏻
I think channels like yours have done more for promoting interest in the trades because people get to see what various jobs entail, and that they simply exist. 30 years ago, kids may have found out about non college jobs from school, or because people in their neighborhood had them, now it's college or nothing. It also show people what is involved in things like this. Sitting around watching ice being made, sweating holes in a coil etc. Even though I'm not anywhere close to HVAC, I have learned lots of things from watching this channel that I have used in other areas. Finally, you do good work, and explain what you do and why, and even when you just want to go home, you finish the job, then make sure later the problem was fixed. Your thoroughness, and thoughtfulness shows everyone how to treat other people, and customers. That alone is something very lacking on today. Keep up the good work, and the good videos.
I started watching your channel when I decided to go to school for hvac. Last year I annoyed my teacher because I had much more knowledge about systems than everyone else because I watched your videos. Come spring I'm excited to finish up with class and get out into the field
I damn near threw my phone. Don’t do that to me bro hammer. Also I have never dealt with one of those beer chillers. Thank you baby Jesus. But as for work. Just got promoted at work to field service manager. Sorry I missed some streams. Been busy.
👍I use to service those glycol units for Red Lobster. Beer company would never service. Easy $$$. Retired now. Don’t miss it much except for my large paycheck. Best to ya sir.
Chris, go swing by Napa and get some hose pinch off pliers, they make metal jaw ones that you just put over the hose and squeeze them till it's pinched off and then they hold the tension, I have two of them in the van and they work awesome for glycol pumps
Thanks another interesting video, Chris. I really felt a feeling of emptiness when you said this was your last video. I know YT has been messing things up recently and started wondering if you had been affected and maybe moved to a different streaming platform rather than just ...nothing...the end. There was a great sense of relief when it turned out not to be the case. I had a thought that your videos were intended for other professionals in the field but I didn't know they were intended for your employees. Not being funny but I think it's amazing that someone running a company actually genuinely cares about their employees so much that they would take the trouble to do this. It certainly explains why your videos are so good. (In my own experience this has certainly not been the case with 'management' not caring about anyone but themselves, to say the least.) Thinking about the glycol unit you were working on, is there not some kind of hose clamp that would have worked without damaging the hose? Depending on how often those units need attention, are there any suitable inline valves that could be fitted to the hoses, maybe as part of the job, to make life easier for the next guy that could well be you?
You are the most evil good sir! 😂 I thought you were not joking for a second. I really enjoy watching your channel, and I try to implement your best practices in my line of work.
I use the exact same Procon pump and motor for an oil transfer pump on chillers and cooling tower gearboxes. I keep all of the hoses and pump etc in a 5 gallon bucket to keep the mess contained. Works very well even on Low Pressure (Vacuum) chillers.
Not looking forward to the day that your last video comes out hopefully that's not for a while I always find your videos pretty fascinating see what kind of failures happen in the field
Darn, that was close, one of the signs in the revelations,.Was opening the bunker and checking the "N" fuses and turning the shortwave on. Glad you cleared that up. whew.
Small panic episode here with the possibility of you leaving. Polymath here, do all sorts of refrigerants mainly in house and experimental. We do learn a lot from you, and keeping up on industry standard components, even up to the connectors on driers and options on service ports. Consider that a lot of your subscribers are just nerds, and that because you dive so deep you provide the content we need.
I'm relieved that you were just making a joke... I've learned so much from this channel that I'd miss the content very much. I think replacing the motor and pump as a set makes the most sense, especially being a direct-driven pump where there is no opportunity for belt slippage to "save" the motor if the pump seizes. Sure, you could swap out the bearings and hope for the best, and you might be able to get away with it. However, as I'm sure you're aware, failing bearings cause the motor to run hotter than usual, and often for prolonged periods of time at not-quite-hot-enough-to-trip temperatures. There's the risk that the lacquer insulation on the windings has been affected... Better to be safe than sorry, and a new motor comes with a warranty for that peace-of-mind.
You tricked me. You scared me. You're the only interesting HVAC Repair guy here on youtube, and while your content is a thrill to watch, I couldn't even force myself to study using other guys... Thanks for it only being a mean joke haha
@@HVACRVIDEOS cool 😎. I’m a retired tech in IL. I worked there for a while and supervised that department and helped design the chillers !! Thanks for the video !!!! You are an excellent teacher and tech !!!!

Great video format. "Why are you telling me what to do?" What? I wouldn't be watching if you weren't telling me what to do 😊. If you don't mind and have the time: I got a new fan motor for an Arctic King 12KBTU window unit. I didn't try to install it during the warranty period and am stuck with a "new" motor that has bad bearings and they'd hacked off 6 inches of the cable. Do you think it's worth trying to replace the bearings on this motor? Know of a good source? Thanks!
"undo these fittings, undo these threaded fittings and these fittings" dude, save yourself the added headache and replace them with new fittings and pre-assemble on the new pump, then you just pull the hoses off and stab onto new barb fittings. far less headache and open time where glycol gets lost. you could also use hose pinch off clamps/pliers, if the stuff is soft and pliable, but it's probably not seeing the type and age of it. 🤪
When you said it would be your last video I flew into a panic and began to hyperventilate. Thanks for clearing that up before I passed out.

Sell the sweaters to raise money to support the homeless, go full circle!
Couldn't they just use quick disconnect fitting on the pump so no loss of glycol, and could they just pour the warm beer back in to the tap line?
Contamination for the beer. Cheaper to pour it down the drain than do the machinations required to deal with potential contamination
