I was not able to record the full repair for this exact job but if you all are wondering, we got it up and running by replacing the compressor & inverter board. Thanks for watching!
Hey bro. Do you guys really have to shut the coils off after you set it for a vac? I’ve replaced 2 compressor and tech support told me I had to do that but I was wondering you you can get away by not shutting them off
@@JumpermanTech Not 100% sure if these models are covered, but the MultiVs should have a 1 year standard warranty + 6 year compressor warranty after the first year.
That is very true! They are extremely intimidating but it is the future. I agree with you. I'm constantly learning to keep up with the industry. Appreciate the feedback! Stay tuned for new videos every week🔧⚡️
Agreed & thank you! That's how you make it far in life! Never heard a complaint either. Even when we are changing compressors when it's 28 degrees outside 👍 We tried out best to get them going. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! We really tried our best to get them going as soon as possible. It was worth a shot as they stocked the parts in the building. Unfortunately, the compressor had to be changed out as well and from there we got the machine to operate. We try to provide the best service we can. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant diagnostics yet again, entertaining and valuable know how explained in a friendly and informative manner, Great stuff Jumper Man all the best to you both.
If you didn't know when you measure with a multimeter it puts out a small voltage like 1v and sometimes it can charge the capacitor's which makes the reading slowly drop that's why when you keep the probes on the ohm keep dropping
Great job as always. Just be careful in the future because a faulty compressor can damage the new board. Many greetings and i look forward to new videos 💪💪
The orange "burn marks" is actually old flux that's been heated and cooled several times which turns it that funny colour usually it should be washed off at factory I've had cases of burnt flux cause shorts or minute shorts in the kohms so that why maybe these boards are dying alot
Thank you! It's an app. The app is called "LG HVAC SERVICE-BUSINESS". Its a must when working with LG. Left clueless without it and calling tech support would be required for any bit of information. Always good to confirm with them as well if you can. They will also send you documents the app doesn't provide. They have all the secrets. Thanks for watching!
What app do you use for the troubleshooting points on the boards?? Or is it a pdf of a service manual? I can’t find there service manuals on there site
They are definitely a challenge. But these LG units are a challenge and a nightmare😂 We are all traumatized with these units already. Thanks for watching!😂🔧⚡️
Pro tip: bring up a 5 gallon bucket and then fold that outer panel with the noise filter boards down and let it rest on the bucket while you work on the inverter board. Just have to disconnect the blue transformer connector from the noise board top left, the 2 connectors on the right of the external pcb that go up to the main pcb and the one white connector on the bottom left of the external pcb. With all of those disconnected you should be able to fold it down without it catching on anything.
Haha I also build PCs and this is 100x more complicated 😂 When I think of modern HVAC, I think of computers. Here's a cool one for you - Another building we work in had a controls company come and wire in their hardware to work with their software so the engineer can monitor and control the HVAC/R equipment with their computer 👀
Additional pipe length does require additional refrigerant but only the installers would truly know. All the walls are covered up and these were installed a decade ago. I only started servicing these units about 2 months ago. These units also run basically ALL the time. Each condensing unit controls around 8 air handlers or so. It can provide heating and cooling at the same time! Seems like it's just doing too much but there must be an underlying issue here. Might be the installation or just poor quality equipment. Thanks for watching!
These condensing units are from 2017 I believe but the original installation was done in 2012. That just goes to show you the massive issues they've had from the beginning
I honestly have no idea. I just started working on these units recently here but this is the 3rd compressor and inverter board I have replaced in about 2 months. Might be poor installation or LG really makes terrible equipment. Thanks for watching!
Start stocking parts compressors inverter boards power supply condenser fans find a small storage area for your repair shop two look up all the inverters to the internet for Diagnostic and New York City is not a friendly commute

Get ready to do more of these soon for that same customer bc they’ll likely all go out sooner than later :)

Great job going above and beyond to try to get the unit running. Sometimes we got to take that risk to see if things can work for that moment.

Great troubleshooting sir. I would like to know where u got the troubleshooting specs for each board? Is that an app or something?

Great Video. Is this Unit have cooling and heating ?
Thank you! Yes but this is not a regular heat pump. It can provide heating and cooling at the same exact time! These units are very sophisticated💯🔧⚡️
I love working vrf no matter the brand, but these videos from this one location have me like I don't want no parts of those LG's 😅

Were you find the the info for checking the boards mate?
LG has a very helpful APP for your phone but for material that is more specific, tech support has all the secrets. Need to call them for them👍
Did the compressor fry the board again ?
OMG that seems to be more of a computer than it is a condenser my gaming PC doesn't have as many circuit boards as that does.

where can i get the manual or the name of the lg app for find the instruction manual, thanks
These systems must be short of refrigerant to burn so many compressors ? So must requires additional refrigerant for pipe length?
