Are you familiar with Used Grippers at CPW? How ” great ” is the great condition? I might get a BBGM 160 or BBE 165 there. It’s the only way to get them nowadays
I started with #1 a few years ago. Now I can close the #2 (from fully opened) for 8 reps, with each hands. The 2.5 however, I can only do 3 reps with my right hand, on a good day. Most of the time I am unable to close it with my left.
I just bought coc# 2 and i closed it from first try with my left hand ( im right handed), and almost with my right hand. It's funny because i am right handed and my left is stronger. Also had distal tendom rupture on my right arm.
How has your progress been going? I started a month ago unable to close the 1.5. Now i can close it for 5 reps and is millimeters or about 1/4 inch from closing the 2. Do you think i'll be able to handle the 2.5 in the future?
@@bilbobaggins138 I haven't trained really, but I always keep my 2.5 close to me on my desk. Now the 2.5 is easy for both hands (no set full reps) and on a good day, I can do 4-5 reps per hand. I always do "no set" because I have large hands I feel like setting the gripper is cheating lol. But that's just me. You started directly with the 1.5 and do 5 reps a month later? If you work hard enough you'll be able to close the 2.5 eventually for sure. Try sometimes doing holds as long as you can on the 1.5 for single reps. And try to do multiple sets of like 2-3 reps maybe.
CoC is a great school of humility and patience. I'm not lifting, only swimming, but do have large hands, I'm 2 mm away from closing CoC 1, after many months of random trying. once, hopefully, closed, I'll move to 1.5. thank you guys for the quality of your products.
That's where I'm at right now. I'm undecided whether I have actually closed my #1 or not. From what I've read of people testing the actual resistance, the 1.5 is slightly closer to the 1 than it is to the 2, so maybe I'll manage that before my old age limits me.
I got the Trainer gripper and it's pretty tough (yes i'm a wimp). But it's a nice start for someone who's lifting heavy stuff all day! #notsponsored lul
This comment is for progress documentation. I received my Captains of Crush sport (80lbs) on 10/25/2022 215lb deadlift is tough (neutral grip) I can do inbetween 3-5 reps with the COC Sport
Is there any way these aren't quite as tight after years of use + leaving them in the car under the hot sun? I find it odd that so many co-workers can come close to closing my #1, but years ago when I tried, no one was even able to close the trainer. One of my co-workers closed the #1 on his first try, and three others were able to do it on their second attempt.
I’ve noticed this more with heavy grips, I have found that despite my CoC 1.5 and 2 being heavily used over the years even serious lifters usually cannot close them. A few people can maybe close the 1 once or twice. If someone can close a number 2 first time they probably have been training their grip extensively in other ways.
Is there a difference between GHP 6 and CoC #2,5 ? Which one is the easiest between the two? I need to know since I'm probably gonna get GHP 6 before CoC #2,5. But I'm not sure. I'm confused about which is harder.
The GHP 6 is generally a bit more difficult to close, but since gripper can vary you can't be sure. Some GHP 6 are easier than some CoC 2.5. Look up RGC gripper ratings.
Adjustable grippers are very inaccurate in the pounds of pressure you are really doing. Having a set spring that is rated at one number is far more accurate and consistent. I used to use an adjustable one before buying these and the adjustable one is such a joke now.
People who closed the CoC #4 did so with different set of rules. Since 2004 no human has closed the #4 because you introduced the credit card starting position rule.
Does training exclusively with Vise/Ivanko adjustable grippers translate over to CoC grippers? Say if someone can mash the Vise on a setting which is equivalent to a CoC 3 then how long would it take him to actually be able to close the number 3?
dGp: We have never heard of anyone training exclusively on an adjustable gripper and then successfully closing a Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper, but that’s not to say it cannot be done. Gripper ratings are far more complicated than most people can imagine, so what seems to be a simple matter of comparing one poundage rating to another is almost never the case, and most often creates a false sense of certainty. Back to earth: train as hard as you can on whatever gripper you have!
To clarify if you aren't a dyel you can close a number 1 easy. If you're a meme lifter then don't expect to close it. I started with closing a 150 for 6 after lifting 3 years
I don’t workout and after a month of training these grippers I can close the 1.5...grip strength can easily be trained by itself. If your like me and want to be fat but with a good level of grip strength. Hahaha 😂
do these train all the muscles in your fingers? for example, will this this train the last segment of your finger to the same level as the first segment of your finger?
Congrats if you did but you would need to close it from a Credit Card Set to get certified. And only Nathan Holle has done that so good luck with that.
I close it all the way from fully opened, but... I do it upside down (It seems to be easier, at least for me), and I still hold the metal tip with other hand (it does not provide any bonus to gripping power, but it stops my hand from wobbling too much)
Hi, iron mind. I just want to said something very little. I think that in this epoch some people Can close de COC 4, so, i think that we Can do a 200 kilos gripper, it's very good ❤❤😊
Never was able to get the 2.5 closed...came so close to getting the handles to touch but just couldn't do it. I have tried a million training methods but none seem to work....very frsutrating.
@@Nick-cp8wf Thabks, it's frustrating though. I changed my grip routine to an every day routine where I do at LEAST 3 sets with the 2.5 - I close it with both hands and try to keep it closed - note these aren't negatives though as I don't try to keep holding while the gripper is opening. Then I grab the 3.0 and dobthe same. I can sometime cose the 3.0 with two hands. I can close the 2.5 with two hands but once I let go with the second hand, it stays about a Milimeter apart. This new routine is DEFINITELY working though, my hands are getting "Thick" and my forearms are getting bigger too - something I didn't expect at all.
This is for Iron Mind, has anybody ever stated that the left hand is harder because of the direction the coils are wound? I’ve noticed my gripper fits naturally in my right hand and the pull is straight back, but in my left hand has a bind. Do you think a left and right hand gripper would be good? I’m interested to know if anybody else has seen this issue.
They make left turn grippers. I'm left handed and just ordered my first one. Based on the minimal research I have found about it, the grippers are a little harder in the left hand. From what I've read around .25 level harder.
Ya boi Jedi..... It's been a while now since I've posted that. Just to give you an update, I can mash monster close 3 on a good day, but can't close it on a credit card set. I reached #2 on both hands after a few weeks of training, and I'm slowly coming closer to #2.5
I know I can reach given enough time
I will be getting the No 1 soon once I am done training with the 132lb one I have now. 😊
You guys sell these outside the US ?
Just started using grippers and I can already close a 3 after a month of training. Hope fully I can close the 3.5 by the end of the summer👍🏻 Edit: I’ve been working out for a few years and have worked manual labor so it’s not that impressive I know for a fact 2 of my friends can close the 3 on their first try
If your story is true , then you have set a world record. You could be closing the #4 in a year. However I doubt you are telling the truth. Some dude in my gym who deadlifted 540 without straps and he couldn’t close the #1.
Beefy Biceps I started with this 250lb gripper then closed my friends 3 after a month. If you want I can send you my instagram. I personally think not many people train grip so there is in tapped potential out there

U know what I'm buying iron mind, I see a ton of cheaper 200-350 grippers but seeing how this brand is really dedicated to it just like harley davidson for chopper models, than I'm in
Tennis player my whole life here, was able to close the 2 relatively quickly with my playing hand, the other not so easily
when is the #5 coming out 🦍

Are you familiar with Used Grippers at CPW? How ” great ” is the great condition?
I might get a BBGM 160 or BBE 165 there. It’s the only way to get them nowadays
Thanks, so how often should I use gripper training
I started with #1 a few years ago.
Now I can close the #2 (from fully opened) for 8 reps, with each hands.
The 2.5 however, I can only do 3 reps with my right hand, on a good day.
Most of the time I am unable to close it with my left.
I just bought coc# 2 and i closed it from first try with my left hand ( im right handed), and almost with my right hand. It's funny because i am right handed and my left is stronger. Also had distal tendom rupture on my right arm.
@@JuanBarios Damn that's impressive! What's your day job? Usually, farmers and mechanics have crazy strong hands
@@DarkSim64 i train a litle at home, and mechanic
Pls post how to vids for the other products!!!!!

Can you tell me what the diameter of the handle is? Thank you.
20mm
What kind of injuries are possible with extensive training of the grip?
thingtwiceaboutthis make sure you train your hand extensors to help prevent injury
something for finger extension would be amazing too.
What is harder to close , the CoC No 3 or the 110 kg Itta power twister?
that intro song is definitely not a rip off of down with the sickness
I got the Trainer gripper and it's pretty tough (yes i'm a wimp). But it's a nice start for someone who's lifting heavy stuff all day! #notsponsored lul
What are your top 5 grip books?
This comment is for progress documentation.
I received my Captains of Crush sport (80lbs) on 10/25/2022 215lb deadlift is tough (neutral grip) I can do inbetween 3-5 reps with the COC Sport
OK, you've had over a year, where you at?
If I will close no 2 coc! I will be happy. Now I close 1.5 . I did a video about it.
Is there any way these aren't quite as tight after years of use + leaving them in the car under the hot sun? I find it odd that so many co-workers can come close to closing my #1, but years ago when I tried, no one was even able to close the trainer. One of my co-workers closed the #1 on his first try, and three others were able to do it on their second attempt.
that's possible. heat can do that.
I ordered the whole set. So far I can't close any of them....because it's not here yet. Lol
Down with the sickness?
How do you choose online which level to buy? 100 or 150 lbs?
I want one, mine only goes to 90lbs and I cab do 10 so now I need the lvl1

Is there a difference between GHP 6 and CoC #2,5 ?
Which one is the easiest between the two?
I need to know since I'm probably gonna get GHP 6 before CoC #2,5. But I'm not sure.
I'm confused about which is harder.
The GHP 6 is generally a bit more difficult to close, but since gripper can vary you can't be sure. Some GHP 6 are easier than some CoC 2.5. Look up RGC gripper ratings.
I have both, and the GHP 6 is harder than the 2.5. Have closed the 2.5 quite a few times and have only ever closed the GHP 6 once.
mine GHP 6 is harder to close
Where I can order 80lbs gripper?
You dudes are awesome 👌 👏 😎 🙌
How could i buy it
I have a Sport; it's not bad. Think I'm gonna jump to a 1/1.5/2 next.
Hope you didn't jump right from a Sport to a 1.5 or a 2. That's a world of difference, a #1 is no small difference.
I have a bodyworx adj. Hand grip which is adjustable even though its max is 90 pounds ! Why don't you guys make adjustable hand grips ?
Adjustable grippers are very inaccurate in the pounds of pressure you are really doing. Having a set spring that is rated at one number is far more accurate and consistent. I used to use an adjustable one before buying these and the adjustable one is such a joke now.
People who closed the CoC #4 did so with different set of rules. Since 2004 no human has closed the #4 because you introduced the credit card starting position rule.
There’s a guy in utube closed from rules

Galadima Lugs yeah I checked but only coc trainer is available.

@Rahul S definitely thanks again brother
How often should i train grip for increasing grip strength
To clarify if you aren't a dyel you can close a number 1 easy. If you're a meme lifter then don't expect to close it. I started with closing a 150 for 6 after lifting 3 years
I don’t workout and after a month of training these grippers I can close the 1.5...grip strength can easily be trained by itself. If your like me and want to be fat but with a good level of grip strength. Hahaha 😂
@@firnameweren5311 150 is level 2 you fat mess
Crazy that at the time of this video a 10 year would close coc4 9 years later with ease
do these train all the muscles in your fingers? for example, will this this train the last segment of your finger to the same level as the first segment of your finger?
Yes
How many times can these close before the spring fails/snaps?
Do you have a website selling these COC hand grip? I want to buy.

I recently managed to close CoC#4... where do I go to get verified?
Congrats if you did but you would need to close it from a Credit Card Set to get certified. And only Nathan Holle has done that so good luck with that.
I close it all the way from fully opened, but... I do it upside down (It seems to be easier, at least for me), and I still hold the metal tip with other hand (it does not provide any bonus to gripping power, but it stops my hand from wobbling too much)
Are you serious? That feat of strength is like deadlifting nearly 1000lbs
@@Nick-cp8wf nope. Tns of new coc #4 is 502 kg deadlift. Op is a clown

2.5 is a tough gripper. What are your stats? Great job getting close, you have good hand strength already.
@@user-kt6fp8me6h Did you get it?

the handshake at the end 🤣
I'm 6'2" about 16 stone and 15% body fat at the moment, looking to do some events this year.
You should start off with the Trainer.
Ok, but who asked?
This is for Iron Mind, has anybody ever stated that the left hand is harder because of the direction the coils are wound? I’ve noticed my gripper fits naturally in my right hand and the pull is straight back, but in my left hand has a bind. Do you think a left and right hand gripper would be good? I’m interested to know if anybody else has seen this issue.
They make left turn grippers. I'm left handed and just ordered my first one. Based on the minimal research I have found about it, the grippers are a little harder in the left hand. From what I've read around .25 level harder.
I just closed the 2.5 :). On my way to a 3, which is a beast :(.
Prakash Rathod have u closed it yet
Ya boi Jedi..... It's been a while now since I've posted that. Just to give you an update, I can mash monster close 3 on a good day, but can't close it on a credit card set. I'm literally 10-5mm away :(. I can do 5 solid reps on the 2.5 now. Still working to close this beast someday. But I know I will get it.
