What liquid did u put n the top of the crank case cover and how much? Iv got aTS 770 and I have to replace my Bendix as well but you have to take the fly wheel off to do so and when I took that cover off it was dry and rusted so I don’t know what lubricant to put back in there
Just ran into what appears to be the same problem on a T/S 900; engine looks similiar - maybe same bottom end. What a PoS of an engineering job on these starters! No excuse for requiring the level of disassembly for what should be a routine service job - R&R the starter!

Yeah it’s a joke but it’s just nuts and bolts you can do it
