I had to laugh when I heard you tell your Mom to stop looking at frames. All I could think of was how many brass candle holders you've bought in past videos. That's sort of like the pot calling the kettle black. LOL
Years ago, my aunt told my cousin to point out if she's buying a lot of S&P grinders. Then she purchased a set and explained it was for a wedding gift. 😅

My mom had composite boards installed on her deck a couple years ago… they were soooooo slippery with rain and snow it wasn’t safe! She’s having it redone after testing a bunch more companies brands and even had the samples in the freezer after spritzing them with water to see what had better grip.
Personally I can wait for diy once space is settled. Then you’ll be able to move around and get the vibe of what is needed. I love the process of design choices. I cannot wait for you & Monday. The cottage needs 2 videos a week.

Aw MaCenna- I lost my mom when I was 26 and I miss her so, so much- seeing you and your mom get along and spend time together is giving me all the warm fuzzies- I so love your relationship together and that you guys have all of these memories to look back on on video, I am sure you'll remember these times forever! I love seeing the progress on your house and I'm Canadian but I might just get my butt over to Texas to stay at this AirBnB once it's done!!

Everytime you do haul after shopping I wonder what your mother would have bought. I would really love to see all the stuffs your mother has bought so far. You can do a overall haul kind of thing with her and show her collection. Also I remember you did it ones in your video. But I just wish I could see more and more in details.. love your work❤️❤️❤️
You’re the bright sunshine in my day! I am home bound and miss the days when all children were home. I love how you get along with your mom and that she loves the flea market and thrift shopping with you. I admire the camaraderie between the two of you. I love Kinslie too…I just lost my Crestie (yes, a hairless one). I miss her so badly.

Wow. I hadn't been keeping up with Magnolia in years. It's not just a business anymore..... it's an empire. They've got their own mini town there, complete with bakery.
Omg I know! Every time I go I see something new. Their little stores by the church they just added are adorable!
You don't even realize how much this vlog helped my mental health today! We have been going through a full basement finish in our home since February. Between COVID delays, and waiting for contractors and electrical surprises in the walls (our house is only 8 years old, but the previous owners did some crazy stuff!)...but ugh I feel everything you are saying!!! I've been picking at some diys, and buying some decor here and there, and my partner has been reminding me that there is no where to store it upstairs...oh and I'm fighting the nesting urge because I am due in 9 and a half weeks with baby boy number 3?!?!? (Trying to keep a 3.5 and 2 year old away from the construction has been a task, I tell ya!) Anyway, I'm so grateful we will have a finished basement soon (?), but I hope I can get some decorating, styling and CLEANING before baby arrives!!! So thank you thank you thank you for sharing your feelings because it makes me feel better and less alone about how my mind is always spinning about our home :)

gosh that's a lot to consider when making something to fit the cottage plan. thanks for sharing the behind the scenes stuff, though. it really shows the effort, diligence, and potential chaos of the work you do. It helps me get an understanding of what you go through, being your own boss, employee, volunteer, and project.

I have two of those exact chandeliers! I went to Lowe's and purchased all the crystal teardrops and one of them hangs over my dinning room round oak claw foot great grandma's table. Beautiful! The other one is in my master bedroom. Gorgeous!

I have that set of Pyrex bowls! I got them as a Christmas gift from a company I was working for 15 years ago. I have the 4.5 quarts, 2.5 quarts, 6 of the 3 cup bowls (that came with 6 green lids), and a loaf baking dish. I love them!

We used Trex decking in our backyard for our extension off our brick patio. Love it, but it gets very hot in the Texas sun. I know it will be covered under the front porch, but because of the Texas heat, you might consider putting a ceiling fan on the porch. Or two.

I had that exact tea kettle back in the 70’s except it was the brown color that was called coppertone which was very popular for appliances at that time. Go with the composite decking…we did a 15’ by 30’ deck with Azek composite and have not had to touch it in 7 years of Florida heat, sun and storms! I power wash it 3 or 4 times a year and it looks as good as new!
Hey MaCenna. I was out your way last week on a day trip to Kerrville with my mother in law to visit the Empty Cross. On the way we stopped in Boerne to visit a couple of your favs: Faith and Funky and Hill Country Animal Shelter. Had so much fun and we both found some really good stuff. Thanks for the great tip!

I used Trex 20 years ago to make a front deck. It's still going strong. Just need to power wash it every couple of years.

I’ve been to magnolia love the store, food, cupcakes and coffee shop. we hit them all plus drove by some of their houses and went to harp design, love his work. we visited the thrift store there. My niece found magnolia pillows I don’t know how but she got them back on the plane with her. I want to go again.
