It's a good idea to set high goals but remember, even if you don't reach it, you're still ahead of your past self. That's the point. Improvement. Break that big goal into smaller parts, and try your best!

This is similar to the fact that people rise to expectations, if a teacher expects you to succeed and works with you will succeed if a teacher expects nothing from you and looks down on you, you will fail, and if a teacher expects to much of you and pressures you, you will fail

This is a funny thing actually, since its something we all do(Put our Self-Identity on what other people say, like it or not, it happens) the point always is to just decide whether you will fail or not yourself, which is actually a pretty hard thing to do for a lot of people(sure is possible tho)

yup i get straight 1000%'s in every class :)
edit: idk if i can 10x my goals and still want to do it. i want to be able to play piano well and enjoy the music, but i don't want to be the best in the united states. that's too much pressure, that's not fun, and that keeps me away from my other goals. but i don't want to stop piano either because i love playing for fun.

Your confidence really increased in the past year, Making this videos are not only bringing you money and the silent confidence (talking about the mastery thing you mentioned in your first video where everyone else praises you for the skill and you are not faking it), these videos are making you more comfortable with interactions too! UA-cam really was a cool choice for you. May 10x of your goals start to seem too achievable and may you aim for the 100x from there. Best of luck!

one of my main goals this year is to achieve academic excellence. i have pretty low self-esteem though, so before this video came out my goal was to get around 70-85 on my exams. but then i watched this video and thought "you know what? he's right. i should strieve for getting 100 on all of my exams" but i felt a bit insecure since i thought this would be pretty hard to achieve. flash forward to today, i just got my grades back and guess what? i got 100 on all of my exams except for one - the hardest one, the one i was most insecure about - which i got a solid 94. while i didnt really achieve my goal, i got pretty close to it and i'm impressed. thank you ruff for being such a good influence.

I think something else which mirrors this idea of having goals difficult goals is even if you don't achieve that goal, you'll probably achieve the easier goal in the process of striving after that difficult goal. Most people do not achieve the goals that they set, so you not achieving you're "10x" goal still means you have made significantly more process than someone not achieving their "1x" goal.

This cure my fear of nihilism. Whenever I set a goal I always thinking "whats the point of reaching this goal? I'll ended up with empty feeling after all". Try to enjoy the process also doesn't work. I ended up thinking whats the difference of being productive and not, it feels the same since choices are neutral.
But hey, what to fear if my goal is unreachable from the start? The nihilism will never comes if I never met the goal.

10 times your goal and if youre still passionate about it then thats the right goal.
Greater ambition leads to greater effort. Commiting 100percent effort is easier than 99 percent. Because task needs to be challenging enough for progress to occur.
Never shrink goals to match ability. Expand your ability to reach your goals.

This is what my mother also told me about. The other idea for this is "do not settle for less".
I did not get the first honor, second, third this quarter. But guess what, when I told myself that I will surpass the rankings of those above me, no, the rank 1 in our section, I really put an effort of studying just for that mindset and rn I am an overall rank 7 in our senior high school campus after not getting included in the overall rank last 1st quarter

You are not. I can relate to it bro.
After the initial disappointment when we look back and see that we had done better than last time it feels worthwhile and now we are ready to move on to our next goal. It's just that we should not slip into our comfort zone that surely ruins your present and you start doubting ourselves if what we had done was my hardwork or just luck? Have you ever felt like that? Like you have done so many wrong things and now it is not easy to go back to your hardworking self, you are still living in your past glory and now you want to get out of it and do something great than what you have achieved in the past. What would you do?What are your thoughts?

    • @czarinaluk9382
      @czarinaluk9382 2 місяці тому +1

@AkshataKoli-lg4qq bro I get. I had gotten good grades ever since f1 but it seemed like my grades were better in f1 and f2 when compared to the grades I got in f3 and f4. People still think I got full marks in everything tho I don't lol (I mean, in my case my grades are mostly still fine, but tryna relate to the old glory part)
I'm gonna be honest that I haven't exactly went through the things u r going through yet but here are my thoughts(?):
I have this book idea in my head for quite some time, and one of the characters, let's call him "T", used to have the best grades at school, but bc of some family incidents he had to move to a factory village to work, aka abandoning his education. As a person that used to read too many fanfics my current plot makes him go through trauma which turned this happy teen into an emo guy. He doesn't believe in his ability anymore, and to him, his only purpose is to support his family. He had basically given up in a sense.
Then the fateful day came when he bumped into his old best frd. They are both surprised to see each other, but "T" has already given up everything related to his past and wanted to push him away. His frd insists to help him get back to his original "glory", but he didn't like that idea cuz that frd was seeing him for who he was currently. He's like "bro, I've changed. You've changed. I'm no longer the person u used to know anymore." But after some arguments,"T" decided to give it a try. He went to a Physics tutorial centre to try to restart his footsteps, where he met a new college "M". M basically let him try things at his will and he gradually became more comfortable with identifying as "pretty good at physics". There were moments when he met people that were better than him, and he felt like he wasn't that good. Well here is a little thing I also learnt recently lol: just that u r not the best doesn't mean u r bad. Hack there will always be someone better, in present times or in history, but that doesn't mean we aren't good ya know. So yeah gradually he regained his footsteps and rebuild his identity. This time, stemming from another place, perhaps a healthier place. It was hard for him to open up, but thr support he gained did help a lot. It's thr belief that it's OK to fall. There are seasons in life. And u every phase of life teaches us a little more about ourselves. Life is just a series of lessons. The alchemist sees what they can learn through everything they experienced.
I understand what u felt. I do have emotional dips throughout this 1.5 month of exams and revision lol. But, maybe, if I can do it once, I can do it twice. A hero's story has both ups and downs, but the downs don't strip their glory, it is part of it. It is the fall and the rise that makes it so admirable.
So, I believe in u bro! Take action!!! ❤️
